Qingyi moved his body, his Qi boiling as he kicked and punched, the air around him shuddering with each vigorous movement.
Glancing at the system notifications, he exhaled heavily. Prices had risen dramatically.
He had thought that even after improving his bloodline, he wouldn’t need to go to Feixue’s wedding to reach the foundation realm and prepare for the disciple selection.
But now he wasn’t sure.
He still had a few months to prepare, but if he couldn’t meet Feiyan, Feixue would probably be his only option.
Even so, Qingyi didn’t complain too much about the price increase.
He now had some idea of how this system worked - it was like the MMORPG games on Earth.
It was easy at first, but soon escalated in price and difficulty as he progressed further and further.
He had no doubt that when he reached the level of a woman like Tang Biyue, the price for a single level of cultivation would be hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions.
Letting out a long sigh, he stood up, looking outside. It was already late and that was the day of Feixue’s wedding, which was due to start in a few hours.
Picking up the invitation, he pondered for a moment.
Should he really show up there?
He didn’t have much interest in such things and, honestly, he wasn’t sure if he’d get any kind of lust point out of it, since the wife would be with her husband the whole time.
There wasn’t much room for him there, was there?
It would be better to get close to Feixue after the wedding.
’Fuck it... in the worst case, I’ll drink and eat for free.’ He stood up, cracking his neck before taking a good shower and putting on his usual pure white robe.
After making sure he looked presentable, he set off from the Sect towards the Yang family residence.
The mansion was buzzing with activity.
The commoners gathered outside, trying to catch a glimpse of the ceremony, while luxurious carriages arrived through the wide central gate.
Sect elders, select disciples, other powerful families from the region and even representatives from trade guilds were present.
Qingyi felt a little overwhelmed by the atmosphere, but he just lowered his head and approached the gate.
"Hold it right there!" The guard growled in his direction. "Only guests may enter, the commoners must watch from outside."
Qingyi didn’t even bother to reply, simply showing his invitation envelope.
After a brief glance at the emblem and confirmation of its legitimacy, the guard stepped aside, allowing him to enter.
Qingyi entered the mansion and walked through the large central garden, surrounded by pompous and arrogant nobles.
A few young women caught his eye, smiling at him whenever their gazes met, but none of them were noteworthy - mediocre talents and appearances, with insignificant rewards.
"Young Taoist Qingyi! You’ve come!" An excited voice called out to him.
When he turned around, he saw Tianran smiling and, next to him, a middle-aged man whose robes bore the symbols of the Mo family.
"Uncle Wuchen, this is Long Qingyi, that young Taoist who helped us on the road!" Tianran introduced him to the man next to him.
"This humble one pays respects to senior," Qingyi bowed to Wuchen.
Qingyi couldn’t feel Wuchen’s power, but he could tell that he was at least at the Iron Body realm.
"No need for such formalities, young man. It’s good to see such talented juniors in the Sect of the Ascending Dragon.
I still remember when I was a disciple there. It’s been two hundred years, but things have changed a lot, hahaha!"
Wuchen laughed, his voice soft and friendly as he patted Qingyi firmly on the shoulder.
He seemed like a pleasant man.
"Come on, we’ve just been waiting for you. The ceremony should begin shortly," said Tianran, guiding Qingyi and Wuchen into the mansion’s grand central hall, large enough to accommodate thousands of people.
Qingyi sat down next to Tianran and Wuchen.
The three of them chatted about life in the Sect while enjoying the Yang family’s vast collection of wines and spiritual liquors.
It wasn’t long before the main moment of the occasion arrived, and everyone fell silent.
The patriarch of the Yang family stepped forward. He was a tired-looking man in the sixth stage of the Iron Body Realm.
"It’s a pleasure to have you all here at my residence. Today, I am very happy to announce the union between the Yang and Mo families.
May the heavens bless this marriage and may this alliance last for the next thousand years."
The moment his voice fell silent, everyone celebrated. In the distance, the bride and groom finally appeared.
Young Master Yang was wearing a blue robe, his long black hair perfectly tied up while his face showed a peaceful smile.
Mo Feixue, on the other hand, wore a pristine white dress, her back covered by a robe that was slowly tinged with gold.
The ceremony was short. They exchanged vows, pledged eternal loyalty before the heavens, and the feast began, with food and drink being served at will.
Qingyi remained in a corner, drinking and chatting casually with Tianran.
From time to time, he exchanged provocative glances with Feixue, but it didn’t go any further than that.
Everyone left by the time the couple finally went up to their room. Young Master Yang was so drunk that he could barely walk and had to be carried by the bride.
Qingyi had also drunk a lot, but barely felt the effect - his bloodline and constitution made him practically immune to it.
As he walked past the Yang family gardens, he noticed the window of the couple’s bedroom open.
’I hope that bastard passed out from drinking so much.’ A mischievous smile appeared on his lips as he activated the Lightning Steps.
It was time to earn some lust points.
