Shen Yi came in from outside and handed the tiny Taozhi to Ye Wanwan.

Taozhi had been sleeping, and only woke up when Shen Yi picked her up, and now she stretched a big lazy stretch on Ye Wanwan’s lap, then rubbed her little head against Ye Wanwan’s palm.

Ye Wanwan then started scratching the little head, tickling Taozhi.

"Are you going down to check the situation?" Ye Wanwan asked, off-point.

Shen Yi didn’t speak, but his intention was clear, he certainly wanted to go down and see what was actually going on.

She was no longer as scared now, and was mostly curious to know who could be such a lunatic!

Before long, the butler knocked on the door and said, "Sir, the police have arrived."

The items in the living room hadn’t been cleaned up, including the gift box that Ye Wanwan had thrown out earlier and the cat’s corpse next to the gift box, all were in their original places.

Although Ye Wanwan was so panicked, when she saw the mangled cat, she still couldn’t help but frown and quickly turned her head away.

Shen Yi squeezed Ye Wanwan’s palm, as if to calm her emotions.

"Mr. and Mrs. Shen, we need to take a statement to understand the situation," one of the police officers came over, holding a black notebook in his hands.

The officer had already learned about the whole incident from the butler, and since Ye Wanwan had only opened the parcel, there was limited information she could provide.

"Has Mrs. Shen offended anyone recently or have any strange people appeared around you?" The officer specifically asked Ye Wanwan about her recent social interactions.

Ye Wanwan carefully thought about the people who had recently been around her.

Ye Wanwan subconsciously glanced sideways at Shen Yi.

Her look made the officer think she knew something but was hesitant at heart, seeking her husband’s opinion.
