Chapter 816: Chapter 813: No More Arguments from Now On
"Can we talk things through calmly in the future? Let’s not argue anymore," Ji Yanlin said softly.
He hadn’t intended to argue with Ye Chaochao today. He just wanted to understand why the atmosphere had been so strange lately.
If there was a problem, he wanted to hear it. He’d try his best to change, and if he couldn’t, he’d find a way to make Ye Chaochao happy regardless.
He hadn’t expected Ye Chaochao to walk away angrily, and certainly hadn’t expected that she’d have an accident just like that.
It was said that the man who hit her was driving drunk. Given the circumstances, Ye Chaochao was actually quite lucky despite the misfortune.
"Even if you’re angry, please don’t walk away, okay?" Ji Yanlin held Ye Chaochao, pleading for her agreement.
Ye Chaochao also felt helpless about what had happened today. If she didn’t agree, Ji Yanlin would probably continue to be anxious and uneasy.
"I understand. I won’t do it again," Ye Chaochao said.
Ji Yanlin explained further, "It’s not that you can’t have complaints about me. I’m just saying that if you’re angry, you need to tell me immediately."
"Hmm, I understand," Ye Chaochao responded obediently.
Ji Yanlin wanted to say more. Even though Ye Chaochao couldn’t see his expression, being in his arms, she could still predict what he was going to say.
Before Ji Yanlin could speak, Ye Chaochao quickly said, "All right, all right, now that we’ve clarified things between us, let’s not talk about it anymore. The accident was really just an unfortunate incident."
Worried that Ji Yanlin would continue, Ye Chaochao added, "I’m feeling a bit dizzy. I want to lie down and rest a bit."
Despite having a lot to say, upon hearing that she felt dizzy, Ji Yanlin lost the desire to continue.
"Are you feeling very uncomfortable? Should I call the doctor?" Ji Yanlin carefully released Ye Chaochao and closely observed her expression.
Ye Chaochao frowned slightly, "It’s nothing. The doctor said dizziness from a concussion is normal and that I should just lie still when it happens."
"Then lie down now," Ji Yanlin helped Ye Chaochao lie back down on the hospital bed.
Once she was lying down, Ji Yanlin said, "If you feel really unwell, you must let me know."
Looking at Ji Yanlin’s worried expression, Ye Chaochao softly murmured, "Hmm," and then closed her eyes.
She truly felt dizzy. Earlier, when talking with Ji Yanlin, the sensation was intense to the point of nausea.
But the doctor had already informed her that this was a common reaction to a concussion, and that she shouldn’t worry. She should just lie down, rest, and she’d recover gradually.
"Rest if you’re tired. I’ll be right here," Ji Yanlin said, sitting by the bedside and watching Ye Chaochao lie there.
He held her hand, gently caressing it, and his other hand couldn’t help but touch the bandage on her forehead.
He was extremely gentle, fearing that the slightest wrong move would cause Ye Chaochao pain.
Tears welled up in Ji Yanlin’s eyes, his expression filled with various emotions—guilt towards Ye Chaochao, and self-reproach.
