The drive from the airport to Ji Yanlin’s apartment took over an hour. Chaochao didn’t know what to say. Just as she was debating whether to say something to avoid the awkward silence, Ji Yanlin’s phone rang.

It was work-related, and from Ji Yanlin’s tone, it didn’t seem to be going smoothly.
