"Wanwan, hold on a little longer!" Shen Yi gripped Ye Wanwan’s hand tightly, unsure if he was comforting her or himself.

Ye Wanwan was dazzled by the overhead light, she looked at Shen Yi through a haze, then clenched her teeth and pushed with all her might.

The noise in the delivery room wasn’t too loud, until the cry of the newborn echoed throughout the operating room.

Ye Wanwan suddenly exhaled sharply; the hand that had been gripping Shen Yi’s now lacked any strength.

"I’m sorry for making you suffer," Shen Yi leaned down a bit, not showing any signs of disgust, kissed Ye Wanwan on her sweaty forehead, and then pressed his cheek to hers.

Ye Wanwan, gasping for air, asked weakly, "The baby? How is the baby?"

Only then did Shen Yi tear his gaze away to look at the doctor who was holding the baby and conducting the initial check-up.

Right now, the baby just needed a simple examination, which the doctor quickly completed, and after a brisk wipe, wrapped the baby up.

"Congratulations, it’s a girl," the doctor said, bringing the child over for Shen Yi to see.

Shen Yi glanced at Ye Wanwan. Of course, she was his priority, but now that Ye Wanwan was safe, he turned his attention to the baby.

Seeing Ye Wanwan’s joy at the news, Shen Yi cradled the tiny bundle in his arms and bent down to show her.

"Look, it’s our daughter," said Shen Yi, his voice trembling slightly.

Ye Wanwan, looking at her baby still wailing loudly, couldn’t help the tears from welling up in her eyes.

There was joy, and there was relief.

Thank goodness she hadn’t given up on her!

Ye Wanwan tried to move closer to the baby, but she was too weak. Shen Yi noticed her effort and brought the baby even closer.

This time, Ye Wanwan managed to kiss her baby’s forehead, and the baby who had been crying inconsolably miraculously quieted down.

"Be a good girl, my baby. Mommy will learn to be a good mother, to love you and your brother properly," Ye Wanwan said, her voice hoarse.

After they had seen the baby, the doctor came and took her away; there were still some checks to be done.

By now, Ye Wanwan had no strength left at all, her eyelids flickered as if she were about to fall asleep.

Shen Yi tidied her hair and said softly, "Rest if you’re tired."

"Mmm," Ye Wanwan murmured in agreement, and then closed her eyes.

Zhouzhou hadn’t been woken by the noise last night and only woke up in the morning.

He could now dress and wash up by himself. Upon waking, he changed his clothes and went to freshen up.

After getting ready, Zhouzhou came out of his bedroom to find the door to his parents’ room ajar. He watched it for a moment, then walked towards the bedroom.

But when he got to the bedroom, he found it empty. Neither mom nor dad were there.

Zhouzhou was full of questions. Where did Mom and Dad go so early?

As he pondered, he suddenly heard Aunt Yang calling him, so he quickly went outside.

"Auntie, where’s Mom?" Zhouzhou ran out and asked directly.

Aunt Yang’s face was also full of joy, "Mom has gone to the hospital to have your little sister. Zhouzhou, you have a sister now. Are you happy?"

Zhouzhou was initially stunned, but then he immediately showed an elated expression.
