Ye Wanwan’s face was covered in tears as she cried uncontrollably, wishing desperately she could let Zhouzhou know that she was not angry at him, nor did she not want him!

She yearned for Zhouzhou to grow up safe and healthy, to become a happy and contented adult.

She didn’t aspire for Zhouzhou to become someone incredible; having him healthy and happy was more than enough!

But no matter what she said now, Zhouzhou couldn’t hear her anymore.

Shen Yi arrived back home just after midnight. Two lamps were still left on in the villa. After changing into slippers in the entryway, he headed toward the upstairs bedroom.

Shen Yi’s movements, however, were somewhat sluggish. He had drunk quite a lot at the social gathering that night, and although he wasn’t drunk, his head still felt a bit heavy.

As Shen Yi reached the upstairs, he quietly opened the door and entered. The bedroom light was on, and he immediately saw Ye Wanwan lying on her side on the big bed. A smile involuntarily appeared on his lips.

Shen Yi walked over and, as he neared the bed, he heard a faint sobbing sound.

Shen Yi was taken aback for a moment, hesitating, wondering if he had had too much to drink and was hallucinating.

But he soon realized he wasn’t mistaken—it was Ye Wanwan crying.

Shen Yi was surprised then became filled with concern, "Wanwan."

He sat down beside the bed, leaning in to see what was wrong, only to discover that Ye Wanwan was already asleep.

Was she crying in her dreams?

"Wanwan!"

"Wanwan!"

Shen Yi called out softly, attempting to wake Ye Wanwan, but after several attempts, Ye Wanwan showed no sign of waking up, only continuously shedding tears.

Shen Yi frowned, what could she have dreamt about to be so upset?

Seeing she didn’t wake up, Shen Yi gently consoled, "It’s okay, don’t be scared, I’m here with you."

"Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid..." Shen Yi gently wiped away the tears that clung to the corners of her eyes with the pad of his finger.

Ye Wanwan seemed to hear Shen Yi’s comforting words and gradually stopped sobbing.

Shen Yi finally breathed a sigh of relief, touched Ye Wanwan’s cheeks, and continued to softly pat her back.

A long time passed, and the slight intoxication Shen Yi had felt had completely dissipated. Once he was sure Ye Wanwan was no longer having a nightmare, he gently laid her back on the bed and quickly went to take a shower in the bathroom.

When Ye Wanwan woke up early in the morning, she looked somewhat lackluster. Shen Yi felt her forehead to ensure she wasn’t feverish.

But seeing her spirited state, Shen Yi couldn’t help but say, "Do you want to take a day off and rest at home?"

Ye Wanwan hesitated for a moment, "Never mind, I’ll go to work."

"If you don’t feel well, come straight home, okay?" Shen Yi was somewhat concerned, especially since she had recently fainted for no apparent reason.

Even though the medical checkup showed everything was normal, Shen Yi still couldn’t help worrying.

Ye Wanwan obediently nodded her head, "Okay."

When she arrived at the company, Tang Xiaorou saw Ye Wanwan and frowned slightly, voicing her concern, "What happened to you? Are you feeling unwell?"

Ye Wanwan shook her head, answering weakly, "I had a nightmare last night and didn’t sleep well."

"That must have been one terrifying nightmare; you look like you’ve lost your soul," Tang Xiaorou teased, now knowing she wasn’t feeling unwell.

Ye Wanwan sighed and no longer paid attention to Tang Xiaorou, her mind wandering far away.
