Chapter 485: Chapter 484: Take Zhouzhou Out More Often in the Future
No matter if it was Shen Yi or Ye Wanwan, they both looked up at the nurse, seemingly clueless about what had just happened.
Shen Yi just subconsciously freed one hand to press a cotton swab on Zhouzhou’s little arm where he had just been given a shot.
The nurse found both parents and baby amusing; the baby had been wearing an about-to-cry expression the whole time but didn’t shed a tear when the actual vaccination took place.
"The baby is very brave," the nurse said.
As the nurse left to stamp the vaccine booklet, Shen Yi and Ye Wanwan exchanged glances and could still see the lingering tension and shock in each other’s eyes.
Then both of them looked down at Zhouzhou in Shen Yi’s arms.
After a long pause, Ye Wanwan asked blankly, "Did he not react in time, or did it not hurt him?"
She had been very worried the last time the doctor came home to give a vaccination, because Su Xiangyi had said that when she was a child, her crying while getting a shot was loud enough to ’lift the roof off the hospital.’
Lin Xu also mentioned that children might cry when getting vaccinated, even the usually calm and unnoticed Shen Yi had cried his eyes out during vaccinations as a child.
So that day, she had been worried that Zhouzhou would also be that scared, only to end up falling asleep herself, which made her guilt peak.
But Shen Yi said Zhouzhou didn’t cry, and the nanny also said there were no tears, so she felt somewhat relieved.
When she saw Zhouzhou about to cry as soon as he entered the door, she was convinced that Shen Yi might have lied to her.
However, when it really came to the moment of getting the shot, even after the vaccination was done, Zhouzhou maintained an about-to-cry-but-not-crying face.
Shen Yi breathed a sigh of relief and didn’t forget to defend himself, "See, Zhouzhou is very brave; he didn’t cry last time, and he definitely won’t cry this time."
"He’s just scared because he’s not used to going out and he’s in a strange environment," he added.
After being silent for a while, Ye Wanwan said, "Then we should take Zhouzhou out more often so he won’t be scared."
"Hmm," agreed Shen Yi.
After spending over an hour at the hospital, once they got in the car, Zhouzhou started to fuss, and Ye Wanwan quickly picked him up.
The partition in the car had been raised early on, so Ye Wanwan had no reservations about feeding Zhouzhou his milk.
Zhouzhou ate and fell asleep shortly after.
Seeing Zhouzhou fall asleep immediately after eating, Ye Wanwan felt utterly smitten.
By the time they reached home, Zhouzhou was still asleep, and lunch was ready. Ye Wanwan handed Zhouzhou to the nanny and then went to wash her hands and prepare to eat.
After lunch, Ye Wanwan felt sleepy too, and although Shen Yi had deliberately cleared his schedule for the day, it didn’t mean he had no work to do.
With Zhouzhou and Ye Wanwan resting, Shen Yi went straight to the study to deal with some work.
...
Zhouzhou woke up after three or four hours, probably because he felt the familiarity of the place, so he wasn’t scared at all.
He played by himself in the crib at home. The nanny didn’t even realize he had woken up; it was Shen Yi who, after finishing work and checking the time, thought that Zhouzhou should be awake.
Only after he came over did he discover Zhouzhou quietly awake, with the nanny unaware.
