The nanny saw this and instinctively wanted to stop it but then remembered that this family wasn’t worried about the cat hurting the baby at all. They had mentioned before that she shouldn’t concern herself with the cat.

After sitting for about half an hour, Zhouzhou finally yawned a little and slowly fell asleep in Shen Yi’s arms.

Once he had put Zhouzhou down, Shen Yi left the nursery. It was almost seven o’clock, and the servants in the villa had already started their busy morning routines.

Shen Yi sighed softly, unable to help but twist his neck, looking somewhat weary.

Indeed, he was a bit tired. Although most company matters had already been handed over to Shen Yun’an, there were still some things he had to deal with himself, not to mention Zhouzhou.

But compared to what Ye Wanwan did, it seemed as if what he had done was nothing at all.

The baby had just been born and was being breastfed. Daytime feedings were one thing, but getting up two or three times at night was another; so after Zhouzhou finished feeding, he tried as much as possible to care for him himself so that Wanwan could rest a bit more.

Shen Yi returned to the bedroom, planning to freshen up first, but just as he got to the bedside, Ye Wanwan, who had been sound asleep, suddenly raised her head and said in a drowsy voice, "Why were you gone for so long?"

"Did I wake you?" Shen Yi asked softly. He had already been careful to walk lightly and hadn’t expected to wake her up.

As she spoke, she lay back down on the bed, yawning and stretching out her hand to Shen Yi, signaling she wanted him to hold her.

She had thought that Shen Yi would hold Zhouzhou for a while and then hand him over to the nanny before coming back to rest.

But after lying down for a while, dozing off as if she had already slept, Shen Yi had still not returned, and she had remained in a half-asleep, half-awake state.
