Ye Wanwan couldn’t help but find Shen Yi’s actions both amusing and exasperating, yet Shen Yi actually believed her words. He worried that if they really had a baby boy in the future, the child might misunderstand and think he wasn’t liked.

So in the end, Shen Yi picked out a set of the blue items in addition to the pink ones he had selected earlier.

He even double-checked to make sure there were equal amounts of pink and blue items.

Shen Yi’s birthday fell on a Tuesday.

Even though it was his birthday, Shen Yi still went to the office to work, and Ye Wanwan hadn’t been able to find a suitable gift for him.

After much thought, Ye Wanwan decided to make a cake for Shen Yi by hand. Although she didn’t have any baking skills, the chef at home was versatile and could easily teach her.

After lunch, instead of going upstairs to rest, Ye Wanwan went straight to the kitchen to start preparing the cake.

It took her a full two hours, but Ye Wanwan successfully made a decent-looking cake, and the taste wasn’t bad either because Ye Wanwan had tried it in advance.

Shen Yi knew it was his birthday today, so he had purposely cleared his evening schedule, choosing to come home and eat dinner with Ye Wanwan.

He hadn’t anticipated any surprises; to him, any gift Ye Wanwan prepared wouldn’t really be a surprise.

But he still felt very satisfied. As long as he had Ye Wanwan, that was enough for him.

Now that they were expecting a baby too, being all together as a family of three was the greatest fortune he could ask for.

When Shen Yi came home, he had just entered the villa when he heard Ye Wanwan’s voice coming from the kitchen.

He slightly furrowed his brows and quickly moved toward the kitchen. When he saw Ye Wanwan frantically stir-frying and the chef by her side wanting to help but not knowing where to start, he called out urgently, "Wanwan!"

"Ah?" Ye Wanwan, hearing her name being called, turned her head around as if she were in a daze. Her hands were still busily trying to turn over the vegetables in the wok while holding a spatula.

Shen Yi, with his brows still slightly furrowed, quickly stepped forward, pulled Ye Wanwan back a couple of steps, and handed the spatula in her hand to the chef.

The chef let out a sigh of relief and hurriedly said, "Madam, leave this to us."

Shen Yi took Ye Wanwan by the hand and walked out of the kitchen, "Why did you run off to the kitchen?"

"It’s your birthday today, so I thought about cooking a dish for you with my own hands," Ye Wanwan said as she stuck out her tongue, slightly embarrassed.

The afternoon’s successful cake had mistakenly made Ye Wanwan believe she had a talent for cooking, prompting her on a whim to personally cook a dish for Shen Yi.

Unfortunately, she had overestimated herself. As soon as she put the vegetables in the wok, the oil splattered wildly, scaring her stiff.

Back in the living room, Shen Yi had his guests sit down on the sofa before he said, "You don’t have to do all this."

Ye Wanwan looked up at Shen Yi, her eyes carrying a hint of reproach, "Do you think I did it poorly?"

Shen Yi, feeling helpless, raised his hand to rub her head, "I can’t bear it."

How could he bear to let Ye Wanwan do those things for him?

Ye Wanwan couldn’t help but laugh. Looking up at Shen Yi, she said with a mysterious note in her voice, "It’s fine, I’ve prepared something else for you."

Shen Yi’s eyebrows raised slightly, and he replied with a smile, "Then I’m looking forward to it."

Afterward, the two of them sat together and had dinner as usual, as if there was nothing particularly special about this birthday.
