Ye Wanwan, although she didn’t understand why, still picked up her chopsticks and grabbed a steamed bun closest to her.

She hadn’t eaten much yesterday, and now, with just one bite, her taste buds were tantalized, and she felt somewhat hungry.

The bun was small, and Ye Wanwan finished it in two bites, then continued chewing while looking at Shen Yi, who was staring at her from beside her.

"Why are you continuously watching me?" Ye Wanwan asked, full of bewilderment after swallowing the bun.

Seeing that she could eat, Shen Yi’s anxious heart finally settled back into place somewhat.

"It’s nothing," Shen Yi smiled at Ye Wanwan, then picked up another small bun for her and placed it on the plate in front of her, "Eat."

Ye Wanwan found Shen Yi’s actions very strange. What was going on with him this early in the morning?

With a heart full of questions, Ye Wanwan continued her breakfast, and then she noticed Shen Yi kept piling more steamed buns and pastries on her plate, all the while staring at her.

The more she was watched, the more uncomfortable Ye Wanwan felt. A mouthful of siu mai went down, and she felt a choking panic, reaching subconsciously for the glass of milk sitting beside her.

Ye Wanwan tilted her head back slightly and had just smelled the milk but hadn’t even had a chance to drink it when she suddenly felt incredibly nauseous.

Unable to help it, Ye Wanwan started retching. She hurriedly put the cup back on the table, then covered her mouth and ran towards the bathroom.

"Wanwan!" Panic filled Shen Yi’s eyes as he abruptly stood, the chair scraping against the floor with a squeak. He quickly followed after her.

Ye Wanwan was already bent over the sink, vomiting, when she heard noises behind her. She quickly turned on the tap to flush the vomit away.

"Wanwan!" Shen Yi had reached her side, panic clear in his voice, "What’s wrong?"

"It’s nothing, I just feel a bit nauseous," Ye Wanwan explained with a weak voice.

As soon as she finished speaking, she couldn’t help but vomit again.

Shen Yi stood there, watching Ye Wanwan bent over the sink, his face instantly turning pale, as the nightmare from the previous night resurfaced in his mind.

Thinking of the doctor’s words, "Mrs. Shen’s condition is not optimistic,"

Shen Yi felt the room spin, as if he was about to collapse at any moment.

He gripped the sink forcefully, trying to keep steady, but even then, Shen Yi was still thinking about Ye Wanwan.

"Wanwan, let’s go to the hospital!" Shen Yi’s voice was full of pleading.

He didn’t know what to do; the only solution was to go to the hospital!

Ye Wanwan, who was now retching so hard she saw stars, hadn’t noticed Shen Yi’s unusual behavior.

On the way to the hospital, Ye Wanwan leaned on Shen Yi’s shoulder, still feeling awful. Although she had stopped throwing up, that nauseous feeling was still pressing heavily on her heart.

"It’s okay, we’ll be at the hospital soon," Shen Yi said in a deep voice.

But he didn’t know if he was comforting Ye Wanwan or himself.

Noticing how tightly Shen Yi was holding her, Ye Wanwan nodded, trying to reassure him, "Mmm, I already feel much better now, don’t worry."

Ye Wanwan couldn’t figure out what was happening to her. She was just having breakfast like normal, so why had she suddenly started vomiting like this?
