Chapter 313: Chapter 312 Who Made Her Angry?
"Angry?" Shen Yi wondered, his voice deep with inquiry, "Who has upset her?"
"This..." Uncle Zhang fell silent for a moment, unsure how to answer his master.
Shen Yi was not a fool; he understood from Uncle Zhang’s silence that he had upset Ye Wanwan himself. Shen Yi furrowed his brows—when had he upset Ye Wanwan?
"Uncle Zhang, could you please ask Wanwan to take the phone?" Shen Yi thought it best to ask directly.
"Yes, sir," Uncle Zhang hurriedly agreed and then quickly walked toward the living room with the phone in hand.
"Madam," Uncle Zhang called out before he even arrived.
Ye Wanwan looked up at the approaching figure, "Uncle Zhang, what’s the matter?"
"It’s the master’s call," Uncle Zhang said.
On the other side of the phone, Shen Yi, hearing Wanwan’s voice speaking to Uncle Zhang, subconsciously gripped the phone tighter.
Shen Yi didn’t know where he had gone wrong to make Ye Wanwan angry, but even without understanding, his first reaction was not confusion but nervousness and concern.
He seemed very worried that Ye Wanwan was in a bad mood and even more worried that she might do something rash because of it.
Suddenly, there was a "thump" in the pit of Shen Yi’s stomach; he didn’t understand why he would have such an inexplicable and even somewhat absurd thought.
Even if he had really upset Ye Wanwan, she wouldn’t just do something rash because of it.
Shen Yi was startled by his own thoughts for a while, until Uncle Zhang called out to him through the phone, not knowing for the umpteenth time, and Shen Yi forcefully shook himself back to reality.
"Uncle Zhang," Shen Yi quickly responded.
On the phone, Uncle Zhang seemed to have walked away with the mobile, speaking somewhat helplessly, "Sir, the madam says she won’t take your call."
Uncle Zhang didn’t know what had happened between the master and the madam, but judging by the madam’s reaction, she was certainly angry.
Worried about a quarrel between the madam and the master, Uncle Zhang hurriedly said, "The madam doesn’t seem too angry, probably just a bit moody; she might be fine after a while, so sir, you don’t need to worry too much."
Knowing that Ye Wanwan was unwilling to take his call, Shen Yi fell silent for a long time before asking in a deep voice, "Has anything happened at home these last two days?"
Shen Yi thought it over. Ye Wanwan wouldn’t be angry without reason, and the last time they video-called two days ago, she was fine.
"These last two days..." Hearing the master’s words, it seemed that the master didn’t know why the madam was angry either.
So Uncle Zhang thought carefully and, after going over the last few days in his mind, he found that nothing unusual had occurred, "Nothing happened, everything is normal."
"Oh, that’s right!" Just as he finished saying everything was normal, Uncle Zhang suddenly remembered something.
"What is it?" Shen Yi asked.
"I heard from the housekeeper yesterday, I don’t know who started the rumor, saying that when you’re not home, madam is misbehaving," Uncle Zhang said.
"They’re saying the madam, a married woman, is hosting some pool party with a bunch of people at the villa, completely unseemly."
"They also say the madam was caught in an embrace with another man and that you caught them in the act when you returned; they say you and the madam fought right then, and that you even hit her. Overall, the rumors are absolutely nonsensical."
When Uncle Zhang heard these words from the housekeeper, he didn’t know what to say to those gossips besides being speechless.
