"Why aren’t you wearing any shoes?" Shen Yi came up to Ye Wanwan, first straightened out her somewhat messy hair with his hand, and then picked her up.

Shen Yi picked up Ye Wanwan, casually turned on the bedroom light with his hand against the wall, and then carried her back to the bedroom.

He set her down at the edge of the bed, then squatted down and slipped her feet into her slippers.

Ye Wanwan just looked down at Shen Yi with a listless appearance. When Shen Yi stood back up, she lifted her head, her gaze always following him.

"Still not fully awake?" Shen Yi asked with a gentle smile, reaching out to pat her head.

Ye Wanwan did not speak, and Shen Yi then said, "Breakfast is ready, eat some and then you can sleep a bit more."

"I don’t want to eat." Ye Wanwan shook her head, feeling utterly exhausted after her sleep, her mind still foggy.

After speaking, Ye Wanwan slumped back onto the bed. Shen Yi quickly sat down, then pulled Ye Wanwan into his arms, allowing her to lie on his legs.

Ye Wanwan had already closed her eyes, seemingly already asleep. Shen Yi combed her long hair with his fingers while softly suggesting, "Breakfast will be quick, eat and then you can come back and continue sleeping?"

Ye Wanwan did not respond, seemingly reluctant.

Shen Yi laughed and carried her to the bathroom. After squeezing toothpaste onto the brush, he handed it to her, and then fetched water for her.

After Ye Wanwan brushed her teeth, Shen Yi took a washcloth and wiped her face for her.

After washing up, Ye Wanwan looked a bit more refreshed. Shen Yi led her to the dining room to sit down and get ready for breakfast.

"How many days off did you ask for this time?" Shen Yi asked while dishing out porridge for Ye Wanwan.

"I didn’t ask for leave," said Ye Wanwan.

"You didn’t ask for leave?" Shen Yi was very puzzled. Was there a holiday this week?

"Yeah," Ye Wanwan nodded, then seriously said to Shen Yi, "Because I’m unemployed now."

"What happened?" Shen Yi’s brow furrowed slightly, his expression becoming more serious, thinking Ye Wanwan had been mistreated.

Ye Wanwan gave Shen Yi a silly smile, and then relayed the whole story to him.

Shen Yi then breathed a sigh of relief. As long as she wasn’t mistreated, that was all that mattered. As for anything else, he wouldn’t interfere; as long as Wanwan was happy, that was enough.

Ye Wanwan ate the breakfast Shen Yi had prepared, which was very much to her taste, but she was so sleepy that after being briefly alert, her motions slowed, and her eyelids began to droop.

Shen Yi received a call from Assistant Chen and made a trip to the study. When he returned, Ye Wanwan had already fallen asleep on the dining table.

From the time Shen Yi left to the time he returned, the whole process took no more than five minutes.

Looking at the sleeping Ye Wanwan, Shen Yi smiled with a feeling of helplessness.

Not having the heart to disturb her, Shen Yi carefully carried her back to the bed.

When Ye Wanwan woke up again, she was being held tightly in someone’s arms. She instinctively struggled a bit, and the person holding her let go.

After a while, Ye Wanwan fully woke up, let out a long sigh, and then opened her eyes to see Shen Yi watching her.

Ye Wanwan leaned forward, nuzzling affectionately into Shen Yi’s arms.

Shen Yi kissed her forehead and softly asked, "Are you fully awake this time?"
