Su Xiangyi sighed, "I didn’t want to meddle with their family’s business, but it’s probably for the best it didn’t work out. That Qin family’s second son doesn’t look like a reliable person at all."

Although both Ye Zhenhua and Su Xiangyi did not want to interfere, as parents with a daughter of their own, they did not want to see Ye Shiying end up unhappy.

"No, weren’t you talking about Ye Shiying and Qin Yansen’s situation? That’s just what I was thinking about." Ye Wanwan was not exactly lying; she was indeed thinking about it.

Song Ziyi let out a sigh of relief. She had thought that Ye Wanwan had encountered some trouble.

"Well, after all, it’s still their family affair. We’re just outsiders looking on for the excitement," Song Ziyi said.

Ye Wanwan nodded, then continued with her meal, as if the matter had passed.

After dinner, the two went to see a newly released movie and only went back to their respective homes after it finished.

However, at a little past one in the morning that same night, Ye Wanwan was awakened by the vibration of her cellphone.

Perhaps because of the previous night’s incident, Ye Wanwan didn’t pick up the phone in a daze when the vibrations woke her up this time.

Instead, she became fully alert, switched on her bedroom light with a stretch of her hand, and bearing the discomfort in her eyes, she took her phone from the nightstand.

Seeing the string of jumbled numbers displayed on her phone, Ye Wanwan already had a hunch.

She took a deep breath, braced herself, then slid her finger across the answer button and simultaneously hit record.

As expected, the next second, the phone transmitted the moans of a man, accompanied by the sounds of whips or belts striking repeatedly.
