The moment Ye Wanwan laid eyes on Shen Yi, she felt her eyes brim with tears.

Inside, a voice said, "Thank goodness I made it, thank goodness I saw you!"

Shen Yi didn’t understand why he felt this way, where these inexplicable thoughts came from, but seeing Ye Wanwan standing there safe and sound in front of him, he sincerely felt, it’s good, so good!

Ye Wanwan glanced around and, as expected, didn’t see Shen Yi’s car. She frowned and reached out to touch Shen Yi’s hand, but it was as cold as a block of ice.

Shen Yi instinctively retracted his hand and then explained, "Cold."

"You know you’re cold? Didn’t you bring a jacket when you left this morning? Why didn’t you wear it just now!?" Ye Wanwan said, sounding annoyed.

Shen Yi didn’t respond, silently listening instead.

It seemed like it had always been like this, Ye Wanwan talking nonstop, about all the trivial things, arguing with him, sometimes happy, sometimes not, and he was always quietly listening.

Ye Wanwan was already on the phone with Uncle Zhang, making sure he hadn’t left yet, and asked him to come over now, saying they would wait at the company entrance.

"Good thing Uncle Zhang hasn’t left yet; otherwise, the two of us would probably not be able to get a ride back."

After hanging up the phone, Ye Wanwan, while speaking, had already stretched out her hand and grabbed one of Shen Yi’s hands. Shen Yi tried to pull away, but Ye Wanwan held on tight and glared at him.

Shen Yi stopped struggling. Ye Wanwan rubbed her hands together and breathed on them, eventually warming Shen Yi’s hand.

Only then did she put Shen Yi’s hand in her coat pocket, where she had hidden a hand warmer, and then reached for Shen Yi’s other hand.

But Shen Yi was still holding an umbrella in his hand, so Ye Wanwan took it from him, set it up against the wall nearby, and continued to warm his hands.

Then she noticed Shen Yi was still staring at her. Ye Wanwan felt a bit embarrassed, withdrew her gaze, and silently rubbed her hands.

Uncle Zhang arrived after a short while, and once they were in the car, Ye Wanwan took off her coat but still pulled out the hand warmer and placed it in Shen Yi’s palm.

On the return trip, Uncle Zhang took a slight detour to avoid the area where the car accident and traffic jam had occurred.

When they got home, Ye Wanwan told Shen Yi to go take a shower first, while she ran to the kitchen to have some ginger soup prepared.

When Shen Yi came down after his shower, Ye Wanwan brought a bowl of ginger soup from the kitchen, "Drink it quickly, to nip any chance of a cold in the bud!"

Shen Yi took it without hesitation and began drinking it without changing his expression.

Ye Wanwan stood in front of him, watching, with a grimacing face as if she were the one drinking the soup.

After Shen Yi finished the ginger soup, the two of them went to the dining room to have dinner.

However, despite this, Shen Yi still developed a fever later in the night.

Ye Wanwan slept in a daze, feeling like there was a furnace beside her, making her feel unbearably hot, and she subconsciously kicked off the covers.

But after a while, she started to feel chilled in certain parts of her body and began searching for the covers again.

After tossing and turning a couple of times, Ye Wanwan woke up, and it was only then she realized that the reason she felt so unbearably hot was that Shen Yi was holding onto her.

Ye Wanwan sighed, wanting to push Shen Yi away, but when she touched him, she realized his temperature was not normal.
