Shen Yi took Ye Wanwan upstairs, and they were the only two people in the elevator. Ye Wanwan stood quietly in the corner with her head down.

Neither of them spoke, and the atmosphere seemed a bit oppressive.

When they reached Ye Wanwan’s suite, Shen Yi took off his coat and placed it on the rack while also placing a pair of slippers at Ye Wanwan’s feet.

Ye Wanwan slowly took off her shoes and then slipped into the slippers. Shen Yi had already changed into his slippers and was walking inside.

"You go take a shower first," Shen Yi said.

"Oh," Ye Wanwan responded, but her voice was hoarse, clearly indicating something was amiss.

Shen Yi stopped and turned back to look at the disheartened Ye Wanwan, "What’s wrong?"

"Nothing," Ye Wanwan answered perfunctorily, heading straight towards the guest bedroom.

Shen Yi’s brows furrowed slightly before he followed her and grabbed Ye Wanwan’s wrist, pulling her in front of him.

Ye Wanwan kept her head down without looking at Shen Yi, her head stained with red wine and cream facing him.

Shen Yi lifted Ye Wanwan’s chin with his hand, forcing her to look at him, and then he noticed her eyes were red, as if she was about to cry at any moment.

"What happened?" Shen Yi asked, seeing Ye Wanwan like this, the annoyance in his heart instantly vanished, replaced by helplessness.

Ye Wanwan pushed away Shen Yi’s hand and said stubbornly with a pout, "It’s nothing."

"Then why are you crying?"

When Shen Yi said this, the person who had merely had red eyes now had tears streaming down her face.

Ye Wanwan sniffled, her voice full of grievance, "I was bullied by someone, and you didn’t comfort me but instead you’re being harsh with me!"

"I wasn’t being harsh with you," Shen Yi defended.

"You definitely were. You purposely stayed silent, clearly angry!" She wasn’t a fool; how could she not see that Shen Yi was angry?

"Do you think I’ve caused trouble again and embarrassed you by looking so wretched?" Ye Wanwan turned the tables and questioned Shen Yi first.

Shen Yi was silent for a few seconds before finally sighing helplessly, patiently explaining to Ye Wanwan, "Yes, I’m very angry, but it’s not about losing face.

"I’m angry because you were trying to show off. Didn’t I tell you to call Uncle Zhang or me if you had any problems?

"But you didn’t call anyone. There were better options available, yet you insisted on rushing in yourself."

"What if you had gotten hurt? There were so many broken glasses on the ground. What if you were pushed down and fell on them?"

"Can’t you think about your own safety before doing something?"

Shen Yi tried to control his emotions, but as he spoke, his tone became more severe.

Ye Wanwan, hearing this, knew Shen Yi was concerned about her, but she still felt wronged and said with a sob, "But I was very angry at that moment. She was pushing me, and she even caused Qiqi to fall. Look how badly Qiqi was hurt."

Both of them had their own thoughts. Shen Yi knew Ye Wanwan’s temper, but he just worried about her getting hurt.

The recent incidents seemed to be going off track. First, Ye Wanwan fainted for no reason, then she was threatened, followed by a car accident, and now another incident had occurred.

Shen Yi didn’t feel that Ye Wanwan had caused him any trouble, nor did he dwell on whether it was embarrassing or not.

He just felt that there had been too many incidents lately, and he was genuinely afraid that something might happen to Ye Wanwan.
