Chapter 106: Why not hurry him?
Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Why not hurry him?
"She doesn’t think, if I didn’t go out to socialize, where would she get all that money to splurge everywhere?"
"She’s always worried that I’m messing around outside, but I’ve said it before, men going out to socialize, these things are inevitable. But it’s all just an act, I wouldn’t marry any of them, so what does she have to worry about?"
Director Xu was full of complaints and asked Shen Yi, "Is Mrs. Shen like that too?"
Shen Yi shook his head.
Director Xu looked envious. "Mrs. Shen really knows the score, understanding that it’s not easy for Manager Shen to work outside."
That compliment from Director Xu was echoed by two others, then they started talking about their own wives at home, gradually comparing who was more unreasonable, who was more of a spendthrift, and so on.
Shen Yi listened without speaking; he glanced at his phone and thought of Ye Wanwan.
He had been very busy these past two years, and even busier after getting married, since his father had started hinting at him taking over Jinghong Group.
So in addition to his own work, there were many social obligations, all aimed at getting to know those business partners ahead of time.
But Wanwan seemed to only ask him what he was busy with and when he would come home at the beginning of their marriage, coquettishly telling him not to mess around when he went out.
He didn’t know when it started, but when he was busy socializing, Wanwan wouldn’t ask him when he would go back home, nor would she jokingly ask if he had done something he shouldn’t have while socializing.
Did she not care what he did outside, or did she trust him, believing he wouldn’t do anything to betray her?
As for money and such, all his cards had supplementary cards for Wanwan to use, but it seemed as though she had never used them.
She had her own money; possibly even more assets than him, so she probably never thought about using his.
Shen Yi stayed at the club until eleven before getting up to leave.
Director Xu and the others were much older than Shen Yi, but Shen Yi’s status was clear; despite his youth, he was the heir to Jinghong Group, and they couldn’t afford to offend him.
After a few attempts to persuade him to stay, they saw that Shen Yi was determined to go, so they didn’t try to keep him any longer.
On the way back, Shen Yi felt tired. He rolled down the car window, letting the wind blow in, which made him feel a bit better.
By the time he got home, it was already half-past eleven. The villa was quiet with only the wall lights on. Shen Yi changed his shoes and went straight upstairs.
As he opened the bedroom door, Shen Yi heard Wanwan’s excited voice, "Quickly cast a spell, he’s about to die!"
"Oh yeah!" Wanwan was very excited, engrossed in her game, and didn’t notice that Shen Yi had returned and was already in the bedroom.
Shen Yi felt a bit helpless; his young wife had recently picked up many new hobbies, including playing video games.
Shen Yi was about to remind her that it was late and time to rest when he heard a man’s voice coming from Wanwan’s phone.
"Sister, that was some good play just now!"
"Of course, it’s the result of my days of hard work..." Wanwan hadn’t finished her sentence when she looked up and saw Shen Yi already standing in the bedroom, and was surprised; she hadn’t noticed him come in.
Just as Wanwan was about to speak to Shen Yi, she keenly sensed something was off.
Shen Yi’s expression seemed a bit subtle, and Wanwan felt a sense of danger.
