The Bride Of Immortal Crown Prince -
Chapter 122: The Shield
Chapter 122: The Shield
"Grandpa... there’s no way anyone can escape from the Empire, right?" After Leon took over Royal Intelligent several years ago, he had never heard such a case. Even in the old archives, he couldn’t find any such info.
All he knew, no one could get out of the Bellsor Empire except his grandfather and the elites of the Royal Intelligence team, who visited the mortal world for research purposes. There is only one exit access, as well as entry access. And all of that is on Prince Island, which is the headquarters of Royal Intelligence. He fully controls the access strictly.
Seeing his grandfather doesn’t answer his question makes Leon feel uneasy.
So, has anyone escaped before? When and who?
"Grandpa, who is that person? And has he come back here yet?"
"He will never come back because he can’t come here anymore. There would be only a one-way trip if the person who ran away did not bring the Black Stone, who carried my blood. You know where the stone is and who is holding it, right? All the stones are still in Bellsor." Leovaris slowly looks at his grandson with a smile, making his agitated grandson feel no need to worry too much.
Leovaris continued, "I believe the person will die like mortal because the magical effect in this land does not apply outside. So, he will age like most humans. Don’t worry about those traits. But, you must take a measurement if this perpetrator who kidnaps the girl can find the door to exit the Bellsor."
"Grandpa, can the shield be checked?" asked Leon. He wanted to know if it was confirmed that anyone had escaped from the Empire unnoticed. If so, where is the location of the other door?
"Of course, you can." Leovaris was confused as to why his grandson was asking about this.
"How?"
Leovaris didn’t answer his grandson right away. Instead, he looked at him with a confused look... "You don’t know how?"
Leon instantly shook his head, "I don’t even know where the shield’s center is. When I started taking over Royal Intelligence, my father never told me about this...."
Leovaris was shocked to hear that.
He thought that his grandson had known where the center of the Bellsor shield he had created thousands of years ago. It was designed to separate this land from the land of the ordinary human being. It also separated the Empire’s ordinary citizens from the people who were unequal to them or banished from the Empire. The magic shield makes this land can not be seen nor entered by ordinary mortal people.
He blamed his son Aolis because he didn’t teach his grandson properly when he handed over command of the Royal Intelligence.
"Your father is so ignorant. How can he give you Royal Intelligence with this limited knowledge?" Leovaris pinched his brows in annoyance. "Well, that shield is at the bottom of your castle."
Leon’s eyes were wide open in disbelief. How could the shield of the Empire be buried under his castle?
"Grandpa, so you said there’s a shield controller deep down my castle?" Leovaris nods at his grandson. "How come? I’ve never felt anything down there."
"That’s because I was created like that, so no one will know it. Did you notice a room on the fourth floor of your castle that I forbid anyone to enter?"
Leon nods while frowning at his grandfather.
Of course, he remembered. The only door that was not allowed to be opened was the black metal door. From the start, he had been suspicious of the door’s existence. He even tried several times to open it, but an invisible force prevented him from getting close to the door.
"That door will lead you a few miles to the underground...There’s a modern facility with advanced technology I put there. And the shield protecting this Empire was there, no one could find it, and only a few people knew where this shield was. And that shield makes this land will never be found by mortal people." Leovaris said calmly while closing his eyes. He never regretted his life being exiled to this land. Because he found this land to be more fun than where he came from, which was very dull.
"Grandpa, can I see the facility!?" Leon felt thrilled to see the technology made by his grandfather. Eighty percent of the past and future technology in the Empire today is his grandfather’s work. He knows his grandpa is really a genius, but he’s lived too long, making him no longer interested in such things. He chose to leave all the affairs of the Empire to his father, shut himself off, and enjoy his time with all the magical creatures that live only on the White Island.
Leovaris, who had been closing his eyes for a while, slowly opened. He took a deep sigh before looking at his grandson, "We will see it later. But now, you have a problem...." Leon was surprised to hear that.
"Grandpa? What do you mean I have a problem? What problem?" Instantly his mind fell on Allynna, who was training in her space. Is the girl having a problem?
"Old General is on the way here...."
"WHAT! Why did he suddenly come to this place?" Leon panicked. While he and Allynna were here, the Old General appeared. How could this coincidence happen?
"Did you call him?" Leon suspects his grandfather did that.
Leovaris speechless.
His grandson always assumes negative things about other people. He ignored him and looked at the waterfall area. Leon, who saw his grandfather didn’t pay any attention to his worries, followed him to look in the same direction.
Leon’s restless heart worried that Allynna would come out of her space and meet the Old General. While waiting, he became more and more nervous. Just as he was about to stand up to go to the waterfall, he saw the figure of a tall man with long white hair walking quickly towards them. His black robes waved as he walked at super speed towards them. Within seconds he was at the Gazebo with thunderous laughter.
