Chapter 95 - 95 86 No Swords Drawn Here
95: Chapter 86: No Swords Drawn Here 95: Chapter 86: No Swords Drawn Here The ropes creaked, winding around the capstan.
The trebuchet was adjusting its aim when an undying Two-Headed Person picked up a huge rock and placed it on top.
“Can a person sit on top and then charge over?”
One had to admit they always had bizarre ideas in their minds.
Trebuchets were not part of the plan for this attack; this was neither a siege nor a large-scale battle involving numerous troops.
Firing a cannon at mosquitos was, after all, ridiculous and brainless in any world.
To be frank, it was their own side that had more troops, making them suitable targets for cannon fire.
But if it were an undying person with an extra brain, that made sense.
Regardless, how could one fight a war without trebuchets?
It was all about the sense of ceremony.
“Catch up!” The ground in front rumbled as it was heavily trampled, and some Undead began to shout, trying to halt the combat.
While sending a mass message was not out of the question, yelling at the top of one’s lungs felt more appropriate on the battlefield.
“Fire the last one!”
The hurled boulder streaked across the sky, following a long arc.
Not surprisingly, it failed to hit anyone, but instead it struck the entrance wall of Dragon Tooth Mountain.
The entrance, already weakened by previous Earth Dragon attacks and starting to shed stones, now collapsed with a crash.
Rocks falling in an instant blocked the entrance, which had been large enough for an Earth Dragon to pass through, now reduced by half its size.
“Well done!”
Cutting off the enemy’s hope for escape, they were now guaranteed not to walk away empty-handed from this ambush.
What followed was a collective charge.
Danger lurks in rushing to the rescue!
The disciplined Supply Flame Knights looked ahead, their furnaces flickering uncertainly with the running pace ahead.
“Lady Serene!”
The battle had not even begun, yet it was already tinged with a layer of tragedy.
The setting sun cast its rays over a battlefield woven with dozens of Great Knights, where a war that courted death was about to begin.
The difference was that Lady Serene, who had come with expectations of gain, had not anticipated the ambush.
Standing on the dragon’s back and clutching the chains, Lady Serene looked down at the scene ahead.
They were just a bunch of Great Knights who had strayed from the right path, not very valuable, but the number was quite intimidating.
Lady Serene knew well that those with power cherished their lives all the more.
She needed to demonstrate her absolute invincibility and then use her momentum to force the Two-Headed People into submission.
“With this power, plus an Earth Dragon,” Lady Serene’s heart grew warm, her elongated, handsome eyes twinkling with mirth.
They could not stand beside her for long, but as weapons, they were quite handy.
Lady Serene indeed could not kill fifty or sixty Great Knights by herself unless she had another Earth Dragon.
However, she was confident enough to slaughter these people into submission.
She was an Earth Dragon Knight, after all!
With a slight flick of her wrist, the chain clattered.
“Roar!” The Earth Dragon shook its head and roared towards the sky, its short, stout limbs moving forward.
The most affected were the four Supply Flame Knights around it, struggling to maintain their stance.
Flames brewed in the mouth of the Earth Dragon, its belly ballooning roundly as it made a retching, regurgitating sound, a process that seemed agonizing.
Drip, drip—the lava oozed from the Earth Dragon’s maw, igniting flames wherever it landed.
Peering into its scorched mouth, spewing lava was bound to cause it damage.
“Urgh,” the Earth Dragon’s front half suddenly rose, tilting backward, its swollen underbelly protruding outward.
Its body stretched taut like a drawn, bending bow.
With a retching burst, the lava splashed.
Some of it flowed onto its own body, but the rock skin unmarred by fire and lava was unaffected.
Having been immersed in lava for years, the rock skin was impervious to the heat.
The body straightened, hurling a glob of red-hot, sticky lava.
“Boom!” Accompanied by a Fireball tracing an arc, the Earth Dragon’s lifted upper body also slammed into the ground, kicking up dust, and the earth beneath caved in.
The Supply Flame Knight was jolted off the ground by the colossal strength for a moment, his heart uncontrollably thumping wildly, his gaze filled with awe as he looked at Serene.
This is Serene.
“Move!” Serene commanded, tugging at the iron chain in her hand.
Despite a million reluctances in his heart, the Earth Dragon still twisted its body and charged forward rapidly.
The sound of its run was massive, its sweeping tail lifted the momentum of a thousand troops charging into battle.
The arcing magma cannonballs finally descended, their muffled explosions bursting amongst the crowd of the Undead Two-Headed People, the dancing, sky-high fire-magma coating every one of them.
The turbid heat tore through rotten skin and flesh, emitting a scent of charred meat…
But the formation remained completely unaffected.
What a scene it was, with flames falling from the sky, exploding upon impact with the ground, scorching half the body of a Two-Headed Person, then affecting many more.
The Great Knight’s vitality goes without saying; it could spin in place twice even with its head cut off before falling down, but Serene has never seen a scene as frenzied as with the Two-Headed People.
Fearless of pain, with excitement the only expression on their faces.
Even with guts spilling and bellies torn, they would still curse and charge forward.
The ground shook, pebbles unable to stop jumping since the beginning, as the two sides drew nearer, the jumps became higher and higher!
Collision!
A Two-Headed Person was overturned.
For the Earth Dragon with its Upper Rank colossal body, the full-force impact was equivalent to a mere punch to the head, creating nothing more than an inconspicuous crack in its rock-coated crown.
The elongated mouth lifted, and another Two-Headed Person was flung into the air.
The Earth Dragon’s eyes sparkled with excitement, the iron chain clanking loudly.
Serene, holding the chain on the dragon’s back, did not make a move.
No matter how intense the battle, she maintained a composure in her posture.
More and more Two-Headed People approached; they were numerous and fearlessly surged forward.
“Roar” The Earth Dragon bellowed excitedly, its four legs exerting force to suddenly tilt its body to the right, twisting Creatures off balance and creating a small gap around its body.
It then rotated its body fiercely.
The rock-coated giant tail, following the body, lashed out with each collision, sending Two-Headed People flying off, spinning into the distance.
The Earth Dragon demonstrated its advantage of colossal strength, easily controlling the rhythm of the fight.
A larger size signifies greater power, whether it is muscles that must evolve to support such massive movements or magic that serves as support instead of muscles.
Huge, means powerful.
The only trouble the Earth Dragon felt was the increasing number of Two-Headed People surrounding it, and these bastards were not too weak.
Its tail could whip away three to five people, but not a dozen, and certainly not dozens.
Suddenly, the Earth Dragon’s belly was hit.
It wasn’t hurt, but the sensation was clear.
“This flesh here is good, it doesn’t repel blades!”
Although they did not understand, both the Earth Dragon and Serene had a bad feeling at heart.
“Thud!” The sudden tremor was unsettling.
The subsequent impacts confirmed their gut feeling.
The Earth Dragon moaned.
The connection between its legs and its belly, not covered by stone skin, became the focus of the Two-Headed People’s concentrated assault, despite the risk of being trampled to death themselves.
“Shake it!
Keep shaking it!” someone shouted.
The shaking went from disorderly to gradually synchronized.
Finally, standing on the dragon’s back, Serene noticed the source of unease — a power present in every Two-Headed Person.
Those who deviate from the right path wield power above that of an ordinary Great Knight.
Some believe that the form after deviating from humanity due to the consumption of Magic Potion, is them moving closer to the true shape of magic.
Their bodies infinitely approaching the truth, allowing them to wield much stronger powers.
The colossal creature, unable to stand steady on the shaking ground, weakened by the assault from the “non-blade-repelling” area, felt pain and could no longer support itself.
And at last, with a “boom,” the Earth Dragon collapsed to the ground.
“It’s showing its belly!”
