The Boss King actually disguised himself as a novice village chief?!
Chapter 87 - 87 80 Flames Blood Flames Moonlight

87: Chapter 80 Flames, Blood Flames, Moonlight 87: Chapter 80 Flames, Blood Flames, Moonlight The area ahead had suffered trampling, the ground pockmarked with depressions created by tremendous force, the soil upturned, as if the land had been plowed anew.

At Star Dragon Ridge outpost, Great Knight Leo gripped his longsword, a faint red glow of flames wrapped around the blade.

The ground before him was charred.

On the ground lay a twisted shield of Rand infantry, a huge hoofprint nearly piercing through it.

A bizarre combination of man and horse…

When Lind arrived, he finally saw what the hoofprints he had been tracking belonged to.

Covered in long, black hair with a horse’s lower body that had no neck, a large mouth positioned at the forefront, its teeth shining coldly like steel blades.

And on that massive body, a human’s upper torso grew.

A centaur, but not the typical form, as certainly the upper body of a centaur does not grow from the horse’s hindquarters.

The bizarre black knight bounced up and down with the hoofbeats, the long spear in his hand deviously pointing straight at Leo’s chest.

In the moment Lind saw the enemy, the enemy was charging, and Leo was the target of the charge.

Ground pebbles and soil were kicked up under the trampling hooves, dust, like gray serpents crawling on the ground, chased the hooves with a tremendous force.

Leo’s left arm was still trembling.

Earlier, upon finding fresh hoofprints, he promptly decided to track them, and with his skills, he shouldn’t have been noticed.

Yet, he had underestimated the other’s perception, or perhaps their sensitivity to malice.

Upon noticing Leo’s approach, the enemy had immediately charged.

In the first collision, Leo evaded using his nimble reflexes, but unexpectedly, the elephant-sized black knight quickly lifted its hind hooves, landing one on the shield.

The crunching sound in his arm reminded Leo of his favorite dish before the doom, the sound of teeth crushing crisp bones.

“Hmph,” he mouthed, blood trickling from his nose due to uncontrollable coughing.

Holding the sword with one hand, retreating was not an option for Leo.

He encouraged himself and tried to use the techniques taught by Lind.

Clorey’s Explosion Flame!

The concept was simple, concentrate power in the palm and then explode.

It was easy for Lord Lind, but neither Leo nor Reed could succeed no matter how hard they practiced.

As a warrior, he might have prayed for a chance, but to whom could he pray?

Damn it!

Forget praying.

No god’s blessing needed when his sword could still slay whatever was before him.

The sword, wrapped in faint flames, aggressively met the charging giant black shadow.

His vision fully occupied by the adversary, the fetid and oppressive wind made it hard to keep his eyes open.

The ground and rocks along the path were like cardboard paste, easily crumbled with just a gentle touch from the wind.

A sword slashed downward.

Boom!!!

A sudden blaze that cut through his vision left a crescent trail, seemingly a casual strike yet adhering to some truth of power.

The scorching heat that made his hair cry out in wailing engulfed Leo, and the fiery crescent also enveloped the black knight who was charging with a spear.

The intense explosion came without warning, the soil flying around, the blast waves pushing Leo backward while he smelled an unfamiliar burnt odor.

His first thought was that this burnt smell must be related to the soil.

Suddenly, he could see nothing else.

He wasn’t hurt, and obviously, he wasn’t the one who had caused the blaze.

When Leo regained his senses, he saw a familiar figure.

It was Lord Lind!

Both hands gripped the sword, his wrists shaking uncontrollably.

Even the flames on Carrion Queen’s Broken Sword momentarily extinguished, but fortunately, he quickly adjusted, and the flames burned briskly, reigniting the broken sword.

At the critical moment, Lind caught up just in time and mustered all his strength with a successful blow that blocked the Black Knight’s attack.

“It’s an Upper Rank!” Lind’s arms were still sore.

He had been prepared in his heart, so he was not surprised.

He just wasn’t sure whether all his power gathered together could defeat the opponent, or whether his rash action would end up causing the annihilation of all the supernatural powers at the Star Dragon Ridge outpost?

He had exerted his full strength, but the opponent had only charged once.

The gap in strength was enormous.

No infantry would foolishly face cavalry one-on-one.

If it hadn’t been for the Carrion Queen’s sword dance saving the day at the critical moment, that blow would have been enough to completely incapacitate Lind on the spot.

The situation was not much better now, the Broken Sword flared up again, and Lind’s body was in great discomfort, having sustained some injuries during the collision.

The upper half of the Carrion Queen emerged from the Broken Sword again, and the flames dressed her gaunt, ugly body with a layer of fiery red lion’s mane.

“My lord!” Leo looked at Lind excitedly.

“Go back and heal!” Lind didn’t turn his head; his gaze was fixed on the Black Knight, especially when he saw the opponent slowly retreating to recharge and prepare for another charge, Lind’s expression grew even graver.

Mico, Renzo, and Reed who had followed caught up and surrounded him.

“Drink!” Mico quickly pulled out a bottle of healing elixir and tossed it to Leo.

Leo bit off the stopper with his teeth; the painful experience of consuming a Magic Potion last time was still vivid in his mind, but he couldn’t care about that now.

The power of the Magic Potion surged into his throat, and upon reaching his stomach, it rapidly dispersed into his body; his injuries were healing quickly, including his left arm, which had been broken.

Reed and Renzo than dashed up, one on each side, one staying next to Lind and the other hiding in the back starting to pray.

Watching Renzo chant his prayers, Mico breathed a sigh of relief.

This was the correct way to harness power, unlike odd cases such as Lind’s situation.

The Old Nobility shouldn’t be too outrageous, right?

She stretched out her hands, her pale little hands raised flat in front like pushing a door, lips and teeth colliding, reciting a spell.

A patch of bright moonlight condensed in the palm of her hands and then turned into a thin veil, drifting towards Lind, straightening his spine the moment it entered his body.

“Thud, thud!” His heart was beating.

Power appeared continuously, and the feeling of exhaustion from resisting the blow just now disappeared instantly.

This was the power of magic, Lind knew without turning his head who was responsible.

“Whoo—” Renzo’s prayer had also ended.

Blood-red flames twisted in his palm as if they had a life of their own.

The Black Knight charged again, targeting Lind directly.

The Carrion Queen voluntarily emerged and collided with the Black Knight; she shattered but successfully slightly altered the Black Knight’s direction.

Seizing the opportunity, Lind rolled under the belly of the Black Knight.

From rolling to crouching with a Broken Sword in hand, Lind could never be so agile, but the burst of flame thrust from his feet made his otherwise clumsy action truly quicken.

Lunging the Broken Sword, he struck at the opponent’s rear hooves.

The Black Knight immediately stopped, violently tipping its body forward, front hooves supporting the ground, then suddenly kicking back towards Lind.

A kick from the hind legs.

The Broken Sword collided with the horse’s hoof, a massive force almost making it fly out of Lind’s hand, and he too was impacted, his qi and blood in turmoil.

“Aaaaah!” The Black Knight’s rider suddenly let out a painful wail.

Red flame serpents climbed up, the “Mad Secret Emissary” Renzo had already seized the opportunity.

Taking advantage of the opponent’s staggering body, Reed also charged with his shield, hitting one of the Black Knight’s hooves, and in the shaking moment, leaped onto the horse’s back and brought down his sword.

Leo, too, rushed up, dragging his weary body.
