Chapter 794: Chapter 562 True Colors
Their gazes collided.
Lind felt something strange; the opponent’s eyes showed neither hatred nor the will to fight, yet their body was constantly emanating overflowing energy.
Compared to the Dwarf War God, those Dwarf Soldiers had completely entered a state of madness, roaring as they fought back.
Two Undead were inadvertently surrounded by the frenzied Dwarf Soldiers, and a chain of attacks caused explosions that sent fire into the sky. The various Alchemical Tools carried by the Undead acted as catalysts for the chain explosions, wrapping more and more of the Undead and Dwarf Soldiers in this sudden fiery outburst.
Unlike the panicked fleeing of the Undead, the Dwarf Soldiers, unafraid of injury, continued to rush towards the Undead ranks, bearing the flames.
Their faces, distorted and scalded by fire, along with their bodies wrapped in flames that had yet to extinguish, made them appear like fiery spirits, surging forward with relentless attacks and dispersing the formation of the Undead.
In the sky, squads of Undead roared as they flew low, dropping Alchemical Bombs as they soared overhead, giving the thoroughly frenzied Dwarf Soldiers a taste of their own medicine.
The battle lines were forcibly extended due to explosions erupting everywhere. The concentrated battles scattered due to the Undead’s intentional diversion.
Enemies with strong abilities and tactics have their own methods of combat, as do enemies who are in a state of madness. Perhaps the Undead even preferred these completely crazed enemies. After losing the ability to think, their pattern of attack gradually became predictable.
What the Undead were best at was fighting alone; their collective battles often relied on superiority in numbers or statistical advantage. In a fair fight with equal strength and numbers, the Undead had never won.
Billows of flame caused the ground to split open.
Dwarf residents in panic found many dark spots appearing in the sky. As those spots slowly grew larger in their line of sight and crashed in front of them, they realized too late that these were parts of their comrades’ bodies.
Simply tossed into the sky by the war and the explosions.
Dozens of Undead formed a "tank" charge team, wrapping their bodies in cumbersome armor and covering themselves with various kinds of magic, activating all their protective tools to the maximum.
They were responsible for guiding and protecting the target.
The reward for a solitary rescue didn’t greatly tempt the Undead, but the mission’s rewards were truly compelling; none could resist a draw for the prize key.
Explosions rang non-stop, engulfing them, but once the Magic Light and smoke cleared, the enemies were shocked to find that this team had resiliently charged to the front lines without losing a single member.
A charged Fireball was launched from the rear of the Dwarf Soldier army, drawing an arc in the air.
Two Bat Wing Blood Wart Demons flying in the air reacted swiftly, quickly turning sideways, allowing the Fireball to fly past their bodies.
The Fireball thus successfully penetrated the rear.
"Boom!"
The Fireball collided with a "wall".
Lind, transformed into a Giant, wore his Melted Armor which began to burn wildly due to incessant attacks. Behind him were followers of the Mechanical God Cult who had already evacuated back. He used his body as a wall for protection.
Those attacks were not even enough to make him sway slightly.
In the blink of an eye, hundreds more spells roared across the battlefield toward Lind, the quick-reacting Undead fired sharply at the airborne magic to detonate it prematurely, affecting the surrounding magic, and ultimately set off brilliant magical fireworks in the sky.
Still, some spells had a degree of self-discrimination, circumventing the obstruction, and successfully hit the shadows in the air, a large number of Bat Wing Blood Wart Demons plummeting to the ground.
In the end, only a few spells managed to break through and hit the Giant standing motionless at the forefront.
The explosion caused the flames on Lind’s body to surge, as if a cluster of flame flowers had suddenly awoken and bloomed.
Lind’s perception of danger had long been incomparable; his gaze pierced across the battlefield, resting on the Dwarf War God, who, carrying his axe, walked in another direction.
The initial violent crushing and advancement finally ceased as the Undead could no longer withstand the frantic Dwarf Soldiers. Their scattered forces could not crush the city buildings.
Despite the previous areas still being a mess, the street fighting commenced.
The layout of the streets was extremely tortuous, becoming a hindrance to the Undead’s progress – parks, restaurants, theaters, markets, taverns... It was evident the Dwarves had been living well here.
"Protect our guests well!" Lind stepped forward, the Undead anticipated his landing point and automatically scattered.
His foot pressed upon the scorched earth, easily shattering the blackened ground beneath, ahead of him twisted ruins, the remnants left by other deities under Lind’s command.
Their situation wasn’t good either. With strong figures supporting and distracting the Prince of Dual Swords and the others, the other frenzied Dwarf Soldiers seized the opportunity to launch surprise attacks.
But the Undead wouldn’t give them the chance to outnumber their foes. In terms of numbers, Lind’s forces were greater.
They were the ones outnumbering their foes.
Hundreds of red-eyed Dwarf Warriors, with anger steaming from their nostrils, wielding war hammers and battle axes, and wearing heavy helmets and shields appeared before Lind.
They watched Lind warily, for even in their "madness," they would force themselves to remain lucid when facing a sufficiently powerful enemy. Madness always had its conditions.
