Chapter 770: Chapter 550 Dragon, But the Castle_2
Connection established.
The moment it was successful, Lind lost all sensation of his body; he felt his soul liberate, as the world around him rapidly receded.
No, it wasn’t the world moving away, rather, he felt his consciousness being pulled by some force, soaring into the sky.
"What should I say at this moment?" Lind stared at the point of connection, "Wait for my return, then let’s get married?"
That seemed fitting.
To fend off the darkness, Lind subconsciously generated heat, his soul surrounded by flames, making him resemble a fiery ghost warrior.
He attempted to stop, only to find it impossible to do so.
"Is this cosmic space?"
Whether the Magic World had a universe or if the world was spherical, Lind did not know.
After all, the "heliocentric theory" was never proposed in this world; what truly mattered was the "Ring," and if something had to be the center of the world, the "Ring-centric theory" would be most fitting.
But after the Ring shattered, this hypothesis, which hadn’t yet been raised, was already disproven.
Different from using the Subterranean Tunnel Worm to traverse various Material Planes, Lind saw another side of the world from a different perspective—the cosmic starscape!
The pitch-black space enveloped him in its cold, and in the distance, the Sun still dazzled, too blinding to gaze upon directly. But was that the real Sun burning there, or the coiled and slumbering Sun’s Testament?
"And there’s the Moon!"
Lind reacted quickly, considering this his opportunity. Compared to the doubts about whether the Sun’s Testament was really the Sun, the Moon was accepted as the Ring of Magic, almost a consensus in the Magic World.
The Moon Witch crafted it, and the Giant Avista hefted it and hung it in the sky.
Transforming into a meteor, he hurtled towards the Moon, then he felt a powerful force assault him from the Moon’s direction, a presence strangely familiar.
Another visitor from beyond the heavens!
Starlet, or something else, and that gaze sent shivers down his spine.
Lind gave up exploring in time. As a meteor shifting through the starry cosmos, he noticed many consciousnesses similar to his own, sharply aware of some that gave him a familiar sensation.
"Coming from Enstad Continent..."
The entity wasn’t that strong.
It seemed to recognize Lind, or was simply scared by the flames burning on him, worried the scorching meteor would collide with it, and in its panic chose to flee.
"Right on the Enstad Continent!" Lind confirmed again. An entity with active intelligent consciousness had discovered and recognized him and had chosen to flee.
He traveled alone in the vastness of space, not knowing how long, until he noted an increasing number of similar "meteors" drawing near, their numbers astonishing, both strong and weak.
Converging together to form a consciousness network.
Lind approached, extinguished the flames that prevented living beings from rashly approaching, and breached into the network, successfully blending in.
In "front of him," as if several colossal figures appeared, some enormous creatures were moving their bodies and turned their "heads" to "look" at Lind.
And their size was so immense, akin to the area of the entire Rand Kingdom.
To Lind, who had already seen enough "strong entities," this level of gaze was still too heavy.
"7 rings? 8 rings? 9 rings?" Lind could only wildly guess at their strengths.
The entities became aware of the "little ant" Lind’s gaze and chose to communicate verbally, although Lind completely failed to understand what they intended to say, he could feel their "goodwill."
For they demanded nothing, instead directly infusing a powerful force into Lind, the vast power making his soul feel as if soaking in a hot spring, sensing a rapid enhancement of his spirit.
The enhancement of the soul brought by the "Storm Knight Path" broke through completely at that moment, perhaps even reaching a level that not even the original Storm Knight himself could,.
Lind could feel the heat of his soul power. Soon, the enormous creature that sent the power departed, wanting nothing in return.
It felt like you were walking past a small ant on the sidewalk with bread in hand, then casually brushing off some crumbs to the ant and moving on.
This gift allowed Lind to merge deeper indistinguishably into the network.
Then, a vast world unfolded before him.
...
Lind, who had been standing in front of the Star Child Annelar’s corpse, opened his eyes. After feasting on a "grand meal," Lind’s external strength did not change notably, but his soul had rapidly metamorphosed into the next stage.
The first to notice his change was the Sin Dragon.
"It seems you have gained something."
Previously, Lind’s strength was greater than that of the Sin Dragon, but his advantage lay in his methods; essentially, he was just an "Old Nobility," possessing some Divine Authority power.
He had enough abilities and treasures, enough tricks up his sleeve, so he was able to defeat the Sin Dragon.
But now, the Sin Dragon felt insignificant beside Lind.
"Right, I’ve understood what Deities are."
"Hmm?" the Sin Dragon was puzzled.
Deities, are but a race, a "native" species originating within the boundaries of the Ring of Magic in the Magic World.
In the vast expanse of the world, they are nothing special; Lind, too, counted for nothing. Having witnessed immense entities as vast as the territory of the Rand Kingdom, and others even larger, he had learned humility.
"That doesn’t seem like good news."
"No, on the contrary, it’s good news."
At the introduction of version 2.2 of the game, he already knew about the main storylines of versions 3.0, 4.0, and even 5.0—an unquestionably good thing.
Moreover, he had more speculations and understanding regarding the existence of the "official website," and the relationship between them was not adversarial.
As previously mentioned, with great power comes great wisdom; the "official website" might just be that wisdom. Since it’s wisdom, a trade is possible.
A logical loop.
"I really want to know what you saw."
Lind pointed to the corpse of Star Child Annelar and said, "Bad news, there are many, very many like it, countless."
"But there’s also good news," he added immediately, "Not every species can unite as one. It and the power behind it are just an insignificant part."
"Insignificant?" the Sin Dragon thought it might have to redefine what insignificant meant, as it had joined forces with Lind against Annelar and nearly lost its life in the process.
Now to call it insignificant.
"Our world is in a far corner," Lind said, "Magic is enchanting and wondrous, and we’re insufficient to attract their attention."
"That does sound like news that doesn’t cheer one up, but also can’t be refuted," admitted the Sin Dragon.
Being too insignificant to be a target can also be good news.
"There’s another piece of good news for you," Lind continued, "I’ve sensed the power of the mainstream Magic World outside. Are you interested in gaining a bit more ’extra’ power?"
The Sin Dragon asked, "Power of the mainstream Magic World? What is that? That kind of starlight?"
Lind nodded, "A power that can continue to be used even if separated from our world."
The Undead, Deities, and everyone else, their power cannot be divorced from the Ring of Magic. That’s the reality; in a corner of the vast Magic World, it’s nothing significant. But if anyone wants to leave this region, they’d all become ordinary people without power.
Perhaps those with strong bodies might be better at fighting, but the outcome wouldn’t be much different.
Of course, it’s not to say their power is necessarily astray; the seventh ring represents the strong, and won’t be looked down upon elsewhere, if one could move freely with the Ring of Magic.
Thinking this, Lind looked up in the direction of the Moon again. His goals would need to change. He wanted the Ring of Magic!
He must accelerate the pace of his conquest and take complete control of the Magic Land.
The large and cumbersome Sin Dragon lay on the ground: "What should I do?"
After signing the contract, if Lind becomes Undead, the Dragon must cooperate, and following Lind seemed quite good anyway.
"I’ll help you change your appearance," Lind said, looking at the Sin Dragon’s thick and bulky shell and asked, "Have you ever thought about turning your shell into a castle?"
"What?"
"The body of this corpse has many useful things to fill and support the interior."
"Don’t even think about it!" the Sin Dragon shook its head.
Being used as a mount was already too much, and now they even want to make it into a mobile castle, inhabited by a crowd of people.
That would be the worst!
"I just might be able to help you distribute and transfer some of the Curse on you," Lind spoke, "If you disagree, then forget it."
"No, I think a castle would be absolutely wonderful!" the Sin Dragon immediately changed its mind, "What style of castle do you like? Just build it!"
