Chapter 752: Chapter 542 Lord Lind Attempts to Protect Innocence
In the War Throne, prosperity and bustle always filled the city-state.
Lea’s heart, however, had already shifted away from this. She had been mingling with the Undead recently, merely playing the social butterfly, but the surrounding attention brought her no joy or relaxation.
And it seemed the Undead who always pursued her were slowly losing interest as well.
They began to idolize someone else.
In this land, there was always someone being idolized and someone being abandoned.
Fortunately, her desire to explore was genuine; when the Undead shifted their attention away from her, Lea decided to embark on a new adventure.
Almost monopolizing the geographic tunnels that go back and forth between different Material Planes, she could freely travel to those brand-new worlds.
Early in the morning, Lea climbed out of bed and went downstairs to the tavern, waving to Miss Carlos. They were good friends, and Miss Carlos hailed from the Southern Magic Land, the Gravel Mountain Range.
She said life here suited her very well, and whenever Lea heard stories about the Beasts of the Gravel Mountain Range, she couldn’t help but exclaim in astonishment.
Miss Carlos offered her blessings, although they had once agreed to adventure together. But as business had been booming lately, Miss Carlos had to focus more on her shop.
After all, she needed to earn money and then transport things she could buy back to the Gravel Mountain Range to help her hometown.
She wasn’t alone and unattached, after all.
On the way to the station, Lea noticed a caravan pulled by Beasts had arrived at the War Throne.
Surrounding Undead gathered one after another, curiously staring at the massive convoy, trying to peer through the carriages to see the situation inside.
Lea cast her curious gaze toward the caravan as well.
Suddenly, the side of one horse carriage opened, and a red-haired girl in a robe popped her head out.
A human.
Beautiful-looking, with lively eyes.
But what caught Lea’s attention more was the robe the girl was wearing, its cuffs adorned with tiny diamonds, and around her neck, a star-shaped necklace.
The red-haired girl looked around curiously, her gaze pausing for a moment when it landed on Lea.
As if she saw some astonishing scene on Lea.
Greeting the other’s curious and astonished gaze, Lea smiled. She was gradually getting used to dealing with others this way.
Although it required some formality, it solved a lot of trouble.
"Don’t look around carelessly; we can’t afford to anger the Lord here."
A hand from inside the carriage pulled the red-haired girl whose gaze still lingered on Lea, back in.
Inside sat a group of scholars dressed in similar robes.
The red-haired girl twisted her body, but in the end, sat down unwillingly.
"I just saw a very wonderful adventure," the red-haired girl said excitedly.
But when everyone’s gaze fell on her, she reluctantly lowered her head and muttered, "Alright, then."
The people inside the carriage were used to this by now.
They waited for the horse carriage to slowly move forward, sitting upright, not moving an inch, as if they had no interest in what was happening outside.
Only the red-haired girl would roll her eyes or quietly pry a gap in the nearest carriage curtain with her little finger, stealing glances outside whenever others weren’t paying attention.
But whenever she did so, she would receive intense scrutinizing looks, forcing her to behave.
Finally, the carriage came to a halt.
Noises were heard from outside.
They got off one after another, pulling their hoods over their heads, their shadows acting like black veils, preventing others from trying to discern their faces.
No sooner had the red-haired girl jumped off the carriage than a hand caught her and forcefully pulled the hood of her robe over her head.
She murmured in dissatisfaction.
"We warmly welcome everyone’s arrival," a rich and pleasant voice rang out.
The red-haired girl subconsciously looked in that direction, then realized the person was standing not far in front of her.
All she saw was a pair of boots.
Her gaze moved upwards to a nobly tailored robe, a string of necklaces around the neck, a black cloak trailing behind, and a broad, strong body.
Then her gaze paused.
He was too tall.
The large hood blocked her further upward exploration.
Just as she raised her chin, trying to see more clearly, the familiar heavy hand pressed the back of her head, forcing her to lower it again.
The red-haired girl pouted in displeasure.
"With your help, humanity will finally reclaim its territory," the man said this and then turned, inviting everyone to enter the Lord’s Hall with him.
There wasn’t anything special about the decor inside the Lord Hall.
The eyes of the people remained fixed on the tall figure.
"Allow me to introduce myself," he began.
"Lind Armand, commissioned by Miss Magdalena, I will also be the future Lord of Misty Rain City. I am trying to retake the land where humanity can survive. I have learned from Miss Magdalena about a prophecy you once made. To be honest, I have also encountered prophecies, and they indeed came true, so I firmly believe in prophecies."
The red-haired girl quietly raised her head.
She tugged at her hood, no longer obstructing her view, and finally got a clear look at the man’s face.
