Chapter 737: Chapter 533 Magic World is Not About Fighting and Killing, It’s About Human Relationships_3
The Rotten Sin Dragon said, "I can agree to the conditions you set earlier, to work for you, but you must satisfy a few of my demands."
"For me to work?"
Lind turned his head to look at the Sublime Angel; he felt the other party must have conveyed the wrong message.
"Not right?" the Rotten Sin Dragon asked.
"Of course!" Lind turned his head, staring at the Rotten Sin Dragon, "It is to swear loyalty to me!"
"Roar!" The Sin Dragon grew furious, its jaws wide open, ready to swallow Lind whole, but a burst of smoothly converging energy surged forth as Lind raised his palm.
No more need be said; Lind, clad in Melted Armor, could temper the flames and physically overpower the Rotten Sin Dragon, leaving it temperless.
His body rapidly expanded, transforming into a giant in the eyes of both the Sublime Angel and the Rotten Sin Dragon.
The giant clad in Molten Rock Armor took steps that shook off heaps of high-temperature magma; once a tiny figure that seemed so small before the King of Black Phosphorus, now though not quite a match for the Rotten Sin Dragon, he was still formidable in stature.
He punched down on the Rotten Sin Dragon’s head, causing the dragon to stagger before he took a leaping stomp, creating a huge crater and causing the ground to collapse.
Lind jumped on top of the Sin Dragon’s head, delivering heavy, pounding punches in pursuit.
With a rustling motion, the Rotten Sin Dragon tried to shake him off its head, failing every time and thus taking several additional punches, seeing stars.
Blue Soul Blades began to gather once again in the palm of his hand.
A downward stab, and even the Rotten Sin Dragon, a dragon nonetheless, would have to succumb to "slumber."
"Wait!" The Rotten Sin Dragon felt a threat to its life and immediately cried out for a halt.
The Blade edged close, embedding into the ground beside the Sin Dragon’s head.
"I swear my loyalty to you."
"Wouldn’t it have been easier to do this from the start?" Lind said, "I happen to know a bit about being a Dragon Knight; I just so need a dragon."
The Rotten Sin Dragon: "Ah?"
The King of Black Phosphorus was too powerful; it was not possible to make it his mount for the time being, but the Rotten Sin Dragon was passable. It wasn’t easy to find a dragon; he previously had to get a Ghost to temporarily fill in the role of a dragon, completely unable to exhibit the identity of a Dragon Knight, who is a Mage among knights.
The dragon’s ability to traverse planes was also very useful.
The problem lay solely with the Rotten Sin Dragon; its body decomposed too severely, its wings turned to rotting flesh, bones in the north completely decayed, with no chance of regrowth.
However, it did not impact flight; this is the Magic World, after all. The flapping of Dragon Wings and a giant dragon’s ability to fly aren’t the same thing; considering the dragon’s immense body weight, even wings twenty times larger couldn’t possibly get it off the ground.
Flight is, fundamentally, magic.
Only the limbs, tail, and the dragon’s head remained relatively intact.
Overpowered, the Rotten Sin Dragon obediently signed the contract to become Lind’s dragon.
Like inviting a wolf into one’s house, it dared not propose a single demand.
Yet Lind asked, "What is it that you seek?"
"The rotting Curse, a force that incessantly erodes my spirit," the Rotten Sin Dragon spoke, "It’s also the Divine Authority within me. During my travels across planes, I accidentally arrived in a realm where scholars possessed immense strength. They were enemies of the Deities and then cast a Deity’s Divine Authority upon me."
Just a moment ago, Lind was wondering how it came about that a dragon turned into a god, and now he understood; it was caught in the crossfire.
"What do you want to do?"
"Help me divide the pain of the Curse; it requires someone to voluntarily bear this pain."
Lind looked at the Sin Dragon’s body.
Given its dual identity as both giant dragon and Deity, it could not withstand the Divine Authority, and he reckoned no one could bear it.
A Deity represents the "rules."
Like fundamental operating logic, a Deity’s Divine Authority may not be as potent as the Magic Ring Shard, but it’s not insignificant; it is not something one person can alter at will.
Deities can only adapt to the Divine Authority by cutting to fit; they cannot change Divine Authority.
"So you want the Undead to voluntarily endure this pain for you?"
"That’s right."
The Undead might be brash, but they are not foolish.
"Okay." Lind pondered for a moment then nodded.
