Chapter 695 - 514 Ambush
Chapter 695: Chapter 514 Ambush
Undead riding the Undead, Undead dragging the Undead, the noisy and chaotic team filled the battlefield at the first opportunity.
Golden Claw·Quik looked towards Ska.
"Where is that lord?"
He didn’t believe this group of people could defeat the Beast Tide; their strength was too weak.
Only if Lind appeared, could he use his absolute power to grant everyone a brief respite. Otherwise, the more helpers who came, the more they would serve as mere fodder for the Beast Tide, allowing it to feed more fully and then attack even harder.
"The lord is watching this war. Such trivial skirmish doesn’t require his intervention."
Ska disagreed.
The strength of the Undead might not be strong enough, but they did not fear death, were inexhaustible, and their numbers were vast, making them very suitable for a war of attrition.
The clash of flesh and blood was settled in the first instance, and the number of the Undead sharply decreased.
"This is just a senseless slaughter," Golden Claw·Quik’s fiery heart quickly cooled.
He gripped his weapon, ready to rush forward; at least he couldn’t let the helpers die meaninglessly before his eyes.
"Aren’t you in a hurry at all? They have no idea how to deal with the Beast Tide, don’t know anything about the characteristics of the enemy they are facing, they are just charging forward meaninglessly."
The higher-ups did not care about the lives of their subordinates, but he believed that Ska was definitely not that kind of person.
Yet the massive deaths still weighed heavily on Golden Claw·Quik.
He watched the group of people rush forward foolishly, only to be engulfed by a hot Breath of flame.
From here, you could see the Beast Tide swiftly advancing, rolling with black smoke and a mist of blood, like wild flames of black and red spreading uncontrollably, and the situation couldn’t be worse.
"Hit the vital parts, destroy the joints!"
"I’m giving out tutorials now, bros, teaching you how to quickly grind monsters!"
The sound of swift running footsteps mingled with the noisy shouts and discussions. Golden Claw·Quik turned his head and looked back; the city gates of Eternal Summer Nest had been opened, and a crowd was now rushing out frantically.
Some, finding the gate too small to squeeze through, chose to climb over the walls to run out, while others rode on giant flying Beasts, streaking across the sky.
The space beside him was filled with Undead, and Golden Claw·Quik felt like he was standing still, like a tree watching them rush forward crazily.
"Yo-ho~"
"That big one is mine!"
They were still charging forward.
"They are Undead; you should really update your intelligence," Ska pointed to his head and said, "This world develops very quickly."
"Undead? Them? Sounds terrible."
"Are you trying to say they’re like a Curse?"
"No, I’m saying, we’re in a really bad mess, envious of their Immortality."
The fighting style of the Undead in front had changed; an Undead grasped a Magic Wand with both hands, raising it high; a magic Shield enveloped and protected him, forcibly blocking the tail swipe of a Beast.
Though the magic Shield was violently shattered right after, turning the Undead within it to ashes, he had successfully drawn the attention of two Beasts.
The other Undead then unleashed a barrage of focused fire.
The fiery magic began to burn, at one point heating the air to an oxygen-deprived degree.
Golden Claw·Quik wiped the fresh blood off his cheek.
"I see a glimmer of hope for victory."
The battle line was finally stalled, and thus with the bodies of the Undead as a meaty defense line, they stubbornly held on by trading life for life.
...
"Roar!"
Owen Strong Beast stepped on the spine of a Beast, using brute force to tear off its thigh, holding the Beast’s leg like a hammer, sending all enemies trying to approach smashing away.
"Come on! Let’s see who the real beast is!"
A wolf-like Beast pounced over, biting onto Owen’s shoulder, tearing apart his armor while also ripping off a large chunk of flesh with its barbed claws.
Owen raised his hand and smashed the Beast’s eye socket, grabbing its upper jaw and lifting it up before smashing it to the ground.
Being on the verge of death did not fill him with fear, nor could he even feel pain.
Grab and smash to the ground, grab and smash again.
The booming impacts continued nonstop.
More and more Beasts came leaping over, surrounding him thoroughly, with the Soldiers beside him nearly wiped out.
"Guys, I found a wild NPC!"
Someone’s voice came from above.
"Damn, he’s pretty handsome, too bad he’s balding."
Owen Strong Beast looked up and saw several figures riding strange flying mounts holding greatswords aloft, seemingly gathering strength. However, their expressions were very relaxed, not seeming to be in a life-and-death battle.
It wasn’t the warriors carrying the greatswords speaking, but their mounts!
"Ace pilot, requesting to join the battle!"
One by one, the figures holding greatswords jumped down.
Boom!
The first person utilized free fall and the weight of the slash to accurately bring the greatsword onto the Beast’s head, making its chin familiar with the ground.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom——!!
They fell swiftly, launching attacks using the same technique that Owen could not comprehend.
It wasn’t that these methods were too strong or impossible to learn, but such a way of attacking, abandoning everything just for a chance at one strike, was unfathomable to him.
Seeing them supporting themselves with swords, gasping for breath next to the corpses of Beasts, and losing all combat power, the more questions Owen had in his mind.
Who trained these warriors.
The next moment, the approaching Beasts swiped their tails and wiped them all out.
Owen Strong Beast, gasping for breath, was preparing to launch another attack.
