Chapter 682: Chapter 508: The Sighing NPC【!】

"Hehehe"

The strange laughter clung to her heels as the Dusk Princess fled along, the road narrowing from the broad avenues until she was cornered by a dead end ahead.

The Dusk Princess leaned against the wall.

This was absolutely the worst gaming experience.

She could hear her own heartbeat stuffing her ears, could sense the throat itch and the constant production of saliva and mucus from long-distance training, not to mention the chest that couldn’t seem to catch a breath.

Ghosts had always been something the Undead rarely encountered; most people’s acceptance of "monsters" far exceeded that of "ghosts", and so far, the number of ghosts that had appeared was not many.

Her weapon had been inadvertently lost during the escape, leaving only a sword at her waist.

For an Undead not familiar with close combat, hacking at the grotesque ghost with a sword in hand was anything but graceful.

100% deep immersion into a terrifying atmosphere, not many could endure.

A swing that cut air, then her body was enveloped by the ghost.

"It’s over."

A powerful gust of air suddenly smashed down from directly above, nearly pressing the wobbling Dusk Princess to the ground. A towering figure materialized before her, so broad that it resembled a building, violently crushing the narrow alley, the ground rumbling, bricks and stones flying, with the guiding winds of Gale weaving a pattern named "violence."

The pitter-patter smacked against her face.

The Dusk Princess reacted by covering her head to protect herself, yet her eyes stayed fixated on the figure.

Wasn’t that Rodwede the Majestic Shield, one of the 12 Deities? His strength was unknown and probably ranked towards the end, silent and aloof, interacting barely with the Undead, not mysterious but often seen staring blankly at the sunset.

The Undead and the Majestic Shield hardly had any verbal interactions, and she had never expected to see him in the story.

"Could the Bard have unlocked different BOSS character experience plots? Then why could I only play a common foot soldier while they could play as Lind directly in Lind’s storyline?"

If she could play as the Majestic Shield, wouldn’t she be rampaging all over this map? Instead of awkwardly giggling on the side and watching the Majestic Shield wreak havoc.

"Are you still conscious?" came the muffled voice of the Majestic Shield.

"Yes, my Lord!" the Dusk Princess answered loudly.

"Is it difficult?"

No, where did you get the idea that I’m struggling? I’m full of energy.

Fixed script dialogue, the NPC doesn’t listen to the response; it’s indeed a little headache-inducing.

"My Lord, what happened?"

She still tried to ask, hoping to dig up some dialogue to understand her current environment and what exactly was going on.

"A terrible catastrophe, run." The Majestic Shield pointed in a direction. "This place is too dangerous for you. Before this country is completely devoured, run as fast as you can."

"What about you, my Lord?"

"Me? I am the Knight who guards the King!"

His voice was clear and powerful, filled with strong confidence.

"But you are different, this battle is not one you can interfere with, just survive."

"No, my Lord, I want to stay by your side!" the Dusk Princess was absolutely certain; even a fool knew how to make decisions at times like this.

Certainly, she had to cling to the Majestic Shield’s "coat-tails" for the exciting storyline to follow.

The Majestic Shield looked at her, gave no response, and walked forward. The Dusk Princess did not hesitate to follow immediately, and they climbed the stairs up the thoroughfare.

The eerie "hehehe" laughter of the ghost came, and a flood of green abruptly invaded her vision.

"What the heck?"

The Dusk Princess looked at the sea of green.

Ghosts, all of them.

They came charging with their chests hollowed, wearing armor decayed by eerie ghostly forces, wielding rusted weapons, quickly overwhelming the Dusk Princess.

She opened her eyes.

The sweltering heat enveloped her body, a familiar sensation reminding her she had woken up, and when she looked up again, it was nearing evening.

The evening sky was stained red by the sunset, turning around to look behind her, the distance had already dimmed into night.

Two friends were whispering nearby, clearly having already finished their experience and finding the activity boring, so they decided not to waste more time.

"Huh?"

The plot was different from what she had imagined.

Choosing to follow the Majestic Shield was actually the wrong option, leading directly to death and exit.

"What was that story called?"

A friend asked.

The Dusk Princess replied, "All I know is it had the Majestic Shield and ghosts, very dangerous and thrilling."

Dangerous and thrilling, without any romantic options.

"Definitely, you played it wrong."

The group gathered in front of the Bard.

"Can we enter the story you just told?"

The Bard nodded: "Certainly."

As long as someone wanted a story, he had to continue, although everyone present could tell he seemed to have the idea to leave.

"Role-playing" again, the Dusk Princess waited according to the plot development for the ghosts’ chase and found herself cornered in a dead end.

Boom—!

The Majestic Shield landed.

"A terrible catastrophe, run." After tearing apart the ghosts, the Majestic Shield once again told the Dusk Princess to run.

"Alright!"

Thinking of the previous experience, this time the Dusk Princess did not hesitate at all and ran in the direction pointed out by the Majestic Shield. The winding road led down, and occasionally ghosts appeared to block her path.
