Chapter 647: Chapter 490 Then he and they lived happily ever after

The pleasurable exchange dinner, meant quite literally.

Lind had eaten his fill, not in the literal sense, but mentally.

Living in a world as fantastical as a fairy tale, he instinctively felt uncomfortable, even more so than when he first discovered he was an NPC in a game.

As an NPC, as a Red-Name Monster, he at least had a set of logic that fit the world’s operation, like being killed by the Undead would burst experience, ways of leveling up, reclassification Magic Potions, and so forth.

But fairy tales were different, they didn’t need to make sense.

He returned to the inn and lay back on his bed, not appearing again for the whole day, instead, waiting until the evening bonfire party to make his entrance.

The flames flickered.

Tonight, the moonlight was exceptionally beautiful, a gentle breeze swept through the forest, rustling the leaves.

Fireflies seemed like stars plucked from the Milky Way, floating down, landing on the tip of one’s nose, causing people to squint as they watched the fireflies breathe, finally bursting into laughter.

The sizzling sound of grilled steak sounded delicious.

As Lind came downstairs, the scene outside was already lively, with women cheerfully swaying their hips, and after a while, men approached to ask them to dance.

Though Lind squeezed a smile onto his face, he felt somewhat out of place here. Placed in a "Fairy Tale World," he should be the cold-blooded Hunter, the heartless assassin, the villain who helped tyranny.

Fortunately, no one here seemed to think there was a problem.

Children ran up and circled around Lind, and he generously handed out precious candies to them.

The "village poor," too poor to eat anything but "dusty meat" and wearing "patched-up formal wear," were naturally very poor and couldn’t afford expensive candies.

It made sense.

"Traveler, come sit here."

He was invited to sit down, and then delicious food was served in front of him, fragrant and oily grilled meat sprinkled with unknown spices, looking and tasting far superior to last night’s dinner.

Lind did not hesitate and feasted heartily.

He didn’t need to eat, as there were many ways he could replenish his body’s energy consumption. He could also eat, with his current body’s strong digestive capability, if he were to rely solely on the most common food supplies for his body’s needs, he would have to eat non-stop, endlessly.

The energy consumed in digesting food, along with the energy to keep his body functioning, might be more than the energy intake from the food.

The fruit was beautiful, a rosy apple made Lind salivate with a sour-sweet taste the moment he held it, its thin skin producing a crisp "crunch" as soon as his teeth bit into it.

Then, the sweet juice of the apple burst into his throat.

He polished off the meal in just a few bites.

Not for anything else, but for the unique delicacies of Moonlight Kingdom, Lind felt he must get the local Divine Authority.

"Shall we dance together?"

A man next to Lind stood up, walked to a girl, and the two gracefully danced amid friendly laughter, with Lind joining the crowd in clapping.

"Are they a couple?" Lind asked another man nearby.

The man puzzledly responded, "What?"

"A pair of lovers." Lind pointed at the dancing duo.

There were many dancers at the bonfire party, but none danced better than them; they were like professional Dancers.

In a small village of just over twenty people, truly a hidden dragon and crouching tiger.

"No, of course not, they are dancing together for the first time today," The man shook his head, smiling, "But who can tell the future, right?"

Lind nodded, though he didn’t believe it.

The first time, and they danced so well?

The bonfire party continued, and under the prompting gaze of the audience, Lind had no choice but to get up and select a dance partner.

There weren’t many who hadn’t danced yet.

There was a redhead girl, a blond girl, and a black-haired girl.

Their appearances were rather pretty, but didn’t quite match Lind’s tastes.

Lind’s gaze shifted, and eventually, he approached the redhead girl. As a noble, even though he hadn’t danced in years, he would certainly not be outdanced by a country girl.

He bowed and extended his hand in invitation.

As her fingertips touched Lind’s right hand, he smiled, his face not betraying his inner surprise.

The two gracefully danced, and after their palms touched, the surprise turned into confusion.

"Are you from the outside world? Do you have any unusual stories or experiences?"

The redhead girl looked up at Lind, her somewhat rugged features gradually softening under the glow of the fire.

"Of course." Lind leaned in, gently rubbing his nose against hers.

The crowd seemed to enjoy the affectionate gesture, some even cheered.

Lind took the opportunity to wrap his arms around her waist, gently but firmly, his confusion deepening.

"What would you like to hear?"

Suddenly, Lind let go of her hand, and with a complex move, threw the redhead girl out and then yanked her arm, spinning her back into his embrace.

"Some, stories."

"I’ve heard a story that you remind me of, a story about Little Red Riding Hood."

"Little Red Riding Hood?" The redhead girl’s eyes widened, reflecting the starry sky as she looked at him.

"Yes, it’s a very perilous story, I can assure you!"
