Chapter 578: Chapter 454: Surrender and Spare Life, Thus Surrendering First _2
No matter from an economic or a power perspective, Rand Kingdom must be the strongest on the Shilu Continent, the data comes from the Undead who collected information about all kingdoms on the Shilu Continent, with a credibility as high as 80%!
"Do you know Him well?" Lind asked.
The Beastmaster replied, "Sekapus still considers himself the Wisdom God, believing that he holds a great sin, which is the greed and endless craving for knowledge. The story of seeking the Giants’ treasure circulates in the legends of the Magic Land as well as those who follow Sekapus. It’s said that if one can find the treasure of the Giants, one can summon Sekapus, answer his question correctly and sincerely, and then one will obtain the desired knowledge from him; answer incorrectly, and Sekapus will disappear."
After he finished speaking, the Beastmaster added a sentence, "Not familiar."
"What about you, what god are you called?" Lind asked curiously.
The answer of the Beastmaster didn’t have the high status of "God of Giants, Wisdom God," etc.
"None."
God of Pets? This would indeed fit, but Lind restrained himself from saying it aloud to avoid the cat scratching his face.
The ritual in front continued.
However, neither of the two Iron Lumps could answer Sekapus’s question, and Lind hadn’t even heard the questions before; magic was his blind spot.
Just as the two from the Mechanical God Cult regretted in their hearts for having such rich knowledge yet being unable to answer even one question, the Giant Sekapus turned to look in Lind’s direction.
"Who are you?"
"Is that a question?" Lind stepped forward and asked.
His appearance startled the two from the Mechanical God Cult; they hadn’t expected anyone else to be nearby, especially upon realizing that there was something unfathomable and hazy about Lind, which made them even more nervous.
Then came dissatisfaction with the Giant’s question, their own questions were hard, but the question posed to the black Knight seemed very simple.
"Leonardo DiCaprio," Lind answered.
"I cannot confirm if your answer is correct," the Giant said.
But Lind knew the reason he couldn’t be seen through—Heart of the Fox served as a womb that nurtured gods; it had a built-in hiding effect.
"So, your answer is correct."
The Giant looked at Lind and asked, "What do you want to know?"
"Who are you?"
"God of Giants, Wisdom God, ’Giant’ Sekapus."
"I consider your answer correct as well."
He had completed his task and slowly disappeared.
"That’s it?" Lind was somewhat disappointed, but he also felt affection for the Heart of the Fox. It was a great item for hiding identity, indeed very useful.
"My lord, why didn’t you ask something else just now?" William asked.
"I thought making Him disappear was the most important thing."
Being watched by such a powerful and fully-regnant Deity made Lind uncomfortable; he doubted he would dare to draw his sword against such an existence in the future.
Lind sighed in relief, while William was still reminiscing over the encounter, the Iron Lumps from the Mechanical God Cult came over.
"You shouldn’t have asked that question just now."
But Lind was too lazy to chat with them, drawing his sword and charging, "William, let’s fight!"
After speaking, Lind stepped forward and quickly closed the distance between him and the opponent. With a deft flick of his wrist, his sword easily lifted the left Iron Lump’s arm, and with a light shake of his wrist, his sword whipped like a twig on its wrist, scattering parts everywhere.
Then, a swift strike to the Iron Lump’s face followed. With Lind’s current strength, dealing with two Iron Lumps was akin to bullying.
After flipping one over, Lind sidestepped and kicked at the chest of the other half Iron Lump. Unexpectedly, the opponent didn’t take the kick well, starting to cough up blood, yet quickly lashed out while still coughing blood.
It was strange to attack while spewing large amounts of blood.
Sharpened magic bullets hit Lind’s body as if heavy fists were landing on him.
The barrage of magic bullets, each with at least the strength of first-ring magic, and with such fierce attack speed. However, Lind didn’t dodge at all and kept walking forward. The damage from the magic bullets healed in the blink of an eye, and his stamina wasn’t depleted. He ignored all attacks, calmly walking forward without flinching.
Nur’s heart was filled with panic.
Magic machinery allowed Nur to abandon the complex spellcasting steps; with Magic Organs, he was able to release Magic Bullets in rapid succession, like a sudden storm of wind and rain, an attack that ordinary people simply dared not withstand. However, the person before him walked forward calmly, completely unaffected.
When he looked at his companion again, he found that the other had been completely disassembled.
His mentality gradually began to collapse.
"What do you want?" Nur asked the mysterious person, unable to guess their strength.
"Flesh is weak, Mechanical Ascension?" Lind grabbed Nur’s arm, yanked it forcefully, and tore it off.
The difference in strength between the two was too great; Lind had enhanced all attributes, not just a single combat skill. His tier four and five power meant that his strength was balanced in all areas, without any weak points.
Even with the Crest of the Lady of the Night, he had compensated for his shortcomings in magic.
"You!" Nur looked at Lind in shock.
Although he could not discern the other’s identity or strength, or even see their face clearly, Nur could be sure that the person in front of him was a being entirely constructed of flesh and blood.
Could a human body be this powerful?
"The Mechanical God Cult, do they all transform their bodies into iron lumps like you?" Lind casually pocketed the arm he had taken from the other, a nice piece of loot.
Although he had no use for it himself, some disabled Soldiers might change their fate with its help.
Nur dropped his weapons, indicating he would not resist any further.
"I need the knowledge of the Mechanical God Cult," Lind said straightforwardly.
"Why didn’t you just ask the Wisdom God directly?" Nur countered.
"I forgot," he answered casually.
Lind always had one requirement for his trading partners—that he could dispose of them. Otherwise, he wouldn’t feel secure with the transaction.
He could trade with those whose strength was almost equal to his, but if he couldn’t even look them in the eye, he would stay as far away as possible. At most, he’d send a mission to the Undead to do the dirty work.
Outmatched and seemingly outwitted, Nur chose to cooperate obediently.
Surrender and live.
Without needing a reminder, he actively sought it.
His already disassembled companion served as a stark warning; he didn’t know how many of the Energy Cores in their bodies were still intact—if all were shattered, that meant death beyond death.
Nur had the self-awareness of someone striving for Immortality, forsaking their human bodies—and with it, human emotions and even logic, making their actions more rational.
"It’s not that I don’t want to avenge you; I’m being very rational," Nur thought to himself, his brain untouched and his thinking unimpaired.
Lind, however, looked at the other part of the Mechanical God Cult: "These are the real treasures."
"They’re only guards, undergoing the most basic modifications," Nur explained. "They don’t have Energy Cores."
"That’s what I want." He had no need for fully mechanical constructs.
Lind walked up to someone’s side, tapped on their breastplate, and discovered it was a magic version of an exoskeleton.
Too bad the Undead were not around, or he’d surely make a fortune.
With that thought, Lind’s gaze turned fervent towards Nur: "Are you skilled in crafting?"
"I’m better at charging into formation," Nur declared. "I don’t yet possess the skills to create Energy Cores. Our Hong School focuses primarily on self-transformation to align with the soul."
Lind nodded absentmindedly, pointing to the armor: "What about this?"
Such a substandard product?
Nur, who had initially worried that Lind might seize the Hong School’s core knowledge, breathed a sigh of relief. But could the other really be satisfied with that? Unlikely—such trash was desired by none. Only low-level Beastmen who wanted the "Title" would acquire an "Iron Gall" and make mechanical armor for exterior wear.
"Very simple," Nur replied.
He could produce them in bulk with his eyes closed.
Lind noticed that although Nur was tall and powerful, he was more cowardly than the Beastmaster; without a threat, he had already given away something valuable.
