Chapter 512: Chapter 416 Base Car, Deploy! _2
"At Rand Kingdom, all the Undead knew that Queen Rania was lawful and good, refusing all chaotic and evil undead dealings, and even accidental discoveries could lead to being wanted and hunted. Since the establishment of Crimson City, Melulan has represented the forces of evil and chaos, operating under her without any restrictions."
"..."
"Rand Kingdom’s assault on Thousand Faces City was hindered, according to the intelligence we obtained from within, Melulan successfully infiltrated Thousand Faces City, but things didn’t develop in the direction of good versus evil as we imagined. Melulan claimed that Black Marsh Kingdom would become a vassal state to Rand Kingdom."
Lind looked at Melulan’s dossier, not expecting Melulan to make her move so swiftly.
As he saw someone in the live feed speculating, "Could it be that Lind has already taken down Melulan?" he couldn’t help but be surprised. Someone really understood him so well!
However, the sober ones were still in the minority; most people thought it impossible.
"Lind’s identity clearly parallels that of the Black Knight, wondering if the Black Knight has any hidden stories left, but it seems unlikely now. Lind is too much of a favored character; no one could surpass him in the plot. Comparing Melulan with Rania, saying he took down Melulan is more like saying he captured Rania."
"Is there another expert?" Lind wondered, astonished at how well the Undead understood him.
He had not only taken down Rania but also Melulan. However, his relationship with Melulan was purely based on emotional trust without any other interaction.
The main reason was, he didn’t like corpses... even those resurrected weren’t exempt.
Melulan turned Black Marsh Kingdom into a dark and chaotic state, completely opposite to the bright and orderly Rand Kingdom, yet both countries have stabilized mutual cooperation. The best experience, of course, belonged to the Undead now eager to purchase scouting and surveillance services.
This inevitably brought up the issue of Lind leaving behind the "Gold Badge" to maintain the operation of Newbie Village. Now, people from both kingdoms continuously "reincarnate," with the numbers steadily increasing.
Lind only had 3,000 Undead with him; he could handle it alone.
As he teleported, Lind felt no sense of time, but he had no need to worry about physical degradation or waste. Here, it seemed that all creatures need not worry about sustenance.
The only communication with the outside world involved the hand he held in his left.
Apparently feeling the boredom, Lind let go of the hand only for Tione to spontaneously grab his hand after an unknown period and attempted to communicate by scratching fingers and palms.
It was only when they finally saw light ahead.
Lind turned his head and saw they came from a golden, glowing bubble, and they were currently in a "Subterranean Tunnel Worm," a creature similar to a desert worm.
Countless golden bubbles squeezed together like soap bubbles, with the Subterranean Tunnel Worm carrying them squirming between the edges of these bubbles.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue bubbles of various sizes and colors soon led Lind to spot a "blue" bubble, not too far away.
He tried to communicate with the Subterranean Tunnel Worm, but his voice couldn’t carry over. This thing was unruly. But since it was alive, could the "Lost Soul Chains" tame it?
The chains extended with Lind’s thoughts, forming an inward-wrapping iron cocoon inside the body of the Subterranean Tunnel Worm.
The control was unsuccessful, yet the chain successfully punctured the body of the Subterranean Tunnel Worm and allowed him to seize its head.
Like a cow nose-ringed, Lind’s subtle manipulation kept the persistently moving Subterranean Tunnel Worm changing directions under the force of the pull.
As they approached the blue bubble, Lind exerted his strength, making the Subterranean Tunnel Worm crash headfirst into it, though he remembered the Crystal Mages once mentioned that once reaching the destination, one could "jump off" the Tunnel Worm’s body to exit.
But Lind realized a more pressing issue—if he lost this Tunnel Worm and couldn’t find another in Magic Land, he might be stuck there forever.
So, he decided to act directly, even if it meant using force to secure a Tunnel Worm first.
The Tunnel Worm suddenly lost control, crashing headlong into the blue bubble with everyone aboard.
It felt as if consciousness was momentarily extracted, the air around the body becoming viscous, as if entering a marsh.
Only after passing through the blue bubble did that suffocating sensation disappear.
The view turned pitch black again, and concurrently, Tione’s hand reached out once more.
Gurgling.
Somewhere in the desert sands, the ground began spewing bubbles, and a gigantic transparent worm suddenly broke through the surface, crashing heavily onto the ground.
Curling and twisting.
"Cough, cough!"
One by one, figures emerged from the worm’s mouth.
"Is this the new map?" someone exclaimed.
"It doesn’t seem anything special."
Lind walked unevenly on the sandy land, it diverged somewhat from his expectations; he didn’t arrive directly at Sky Star Magic School but came to a desert.
A desert?
He pulled out the map given by the Crystal Mage.
"No desert?"
Was Magic Land too vast even for Crystal Mage to know some parts, or had they not reached Magic Land at all?
It didn’t matter much. As long as he had the Subterranean Tunnel Worm in his hand, he could return anytime.
Lind stood next to the Subterranean Tunnel Worm, incessantly binding it with Lost Soul Chains, forming a constantly squirming chain "express."
