Chapter 401: Chapter 341 Optional New Race

The escape route was incredibly smooth.

Actually, even before that, the Undead Kerrigan had learned from the forums that the entire Raven City had already fallen into chaos.

If he acted at this time, he definitely wouldn’t get caught.

So, he felt it was very reasonable to take this opportunity to escape amidst the chaos.

They walked blatantly down the streets and didn’t even need to hide when encountering patrolling Riven Soldiers, because those soldiers were distracted by another disturbance.

And just like that, they made it out of Raven City without any mishaps.

Finally able to breathe a sigh of relief, Kerrigan looked down at himself, wearing only a pair of white underpants.

"Not a single weapon on me."

Now, apart from his level, he had nothing left.

Kerrigan turned his head to look at the towering black figure beside him, who had always had his face covered by a cloak and had been taciturn all along.

"Big bro, we still have to escape together, my name is Kerrigan, what should I call you?"

An NPC with a red [?] on his head.

This wasn’t a big problem, as a red name indicates hostility, but his 12 chaotic friends, who were currently with the Blood Clan and even about to switch classes and become part of the Blood Clan, still had red names above their heads.

Carrying malice was quite normal.

The black-cloaked figure did not reply, simply continuing to move northward.

"Hey, wait for me, big bro!" Kerrigan ran a few steps to catch up. He wasn’t good at running in the real world, but here he had gradually mastered some techniques of running.

For example, pushing off with the tips of his toes before his soles hit the ground allowed him to run a bit more urgently. But if he wanted to run long distances, he had to take bigger strides, first landing on his heels and then using the tips of his toes at the last second for a burst of speed.

This technique worked even better when applied in melee professions.

But Kerrigan found that even when running at full speed without any baggage, he could only barely keep up with the other person, which meant the other’s level was far higher than his.

As a thick-skinned Undead, there was no reason to let a mysterious NPC go when encountered.

Persistence paid off; seemingly fed up with Kerrigan’s chatter, the other was finally willing to share his origins.

"I come from the Black Marsh Kingdom."

"The Black Marsh Kingdom?"

That was not a good place; a lot of Undead were locked up there. Only a few people were still trying to break out, but most of the Undead had chosen to delete their accounts and start over.

That’s what was most interesting about it. Other games feared players quitting, providing what seemed like a doomsday scenario at the beginning but, in reality, with a lot of guidance.

But in "Doomsday Magic Ring," if an Undead got into some kind of trouble, it really was "game over"; there was no other option but to delete the account and start anew.

"What are you here for?"

"Searching for someone."

The cloaked figure paused for a moment as if he wanted to say something else, but in the end, he chose to stay silent.

"Searching for someone?"

"My love, Diana, came to the Rand Kingdom, but she stopped sending messages back, so I came here. If you can help me find Diana, I can pay you a reward."

A quest!

Kerrigan noticed that when talking to him, the other was generally disinterested; however, whenever "Diana" was mentioned, the other was willing to talk a bit more.

A love-stricken big guy; he was already powerfully imagining what kind of face lay beneath the cloak.

"Is Diana your wife?" Kerrigan asked.

He needed more information.

"No, she’s just my lover."

"Don’t you have a portrait or something else?"

"No need, we can recognize each other within a certain range."

But I don’t recognize you at all! Kerrigan wanted to curse, but considering that the other person’s strength far surpassed his own, he chose to be polite.

"So what is your Diana doing in the Rand Kingdom?"

"It’s a secret, but I can tell you she’s also looking for someone, following orders just like me."

"Wait a minute, I’m a bit confused, following orders to find someone, that’s not your lover?"

"Yes, lover."

As they traveled, they didn’t avoid towns but as they headed north, particularly when skirting the Frozen Soil Mountain Range, they barely encountered anyone.

When they passed by a certain area, they unexpectedly came across signs of a camp. There must have been a sizable army stationed there, with at least 200 people, yet Kerrigan couldn’t find any information about it online.

This world was operating independently without any need for the Undead’s intervention.

Along the way, they encountered a few wandering Calamities, indicating they had completely left Lind’s sphere of influence, which meant it was time to go their separate ways.

The mission from the mysterious NPC definitely couldn’t be missed!

With this in mind, Kerrigan could only try his best to keep the other close.

"Kerrigan, we did it!"

The chaotic Undead, who hadn’t been in touch for a while, suddenly sent a message.

Did it?

And there were photos sent, too.

Kerrigan was startled: "Holy shit, what have you turned into?"

It was a face with a broad and fanged mouth, flat and disgusting.

The body resembled a hunchbacked standing bat, with skin flaps connecting the elbows and the sides of the ribs. But no one believed that such a creature’s structure would allow it to fly or glide; the skin flaps seemed just to puff up the animal’s body, making its frail physique appear bulkier.

Furthermore, its body was covered in warts, or rather, growths, which were highly disgusting.

"Blood Wart Demon," the other replied with some pride: "A member of the Blood Clan, it enters a frenzy when smelling blood and can heal quickly. The only downside is the fear of sunlight, as it can be burned to death. We’ve tested it several times, and indeed, it’s quite uncomfortable to burn."

Kerrigan couldn’t understand: "Why didn’t you change your class to Crimson Nobility, or Crimson Dame?"

"Probably have to level up step by step, I’m not too clear on it, but surely there’s a possibility to rise in the future. However, the feeling of not being human is just too awesome. I’m still at the same level as before, and I still have all my previous job skills, but my attributes have hugely improved."

If you set aside the appearance, becoming a Blood Wart Demon didn’t seem entirely unacceptable.

"I’ve taken a hidden quest on my side; after I’m done with it, I will come to find you."

"Okay, hurry up!"

After cutting off the communication, Kerrigan looked toward the black cloak, not expecting the black cloak to take the initiative to speak: "We should part ways here. If you find any news about Diana, you can inquire about my whereabouts in the town. Just ask about the Noble Blood Clan in the tavern; wherever I’ve been, I definitely leave a trail."

"Noble Blood Clan?"

Kerrigan’s mind stirred, and he quickly asked, "So are you from the Blood Clan?"

"Have you heard of the Blood Clan?" the black cloak asked, somewhat surprised.

"Er, my friend is from the Blood Clan, but are you really?" Kerrigan questioned.

"I am not; I am a lover of the Blood Clan."

What exactly is a lover?

Kerrigan was getting a headache when suddenly he remembered that his friend had already joined the Blood Clan. He immediately sent a message to his friend.

Unexpectedly, the friend replied promptly: "Lover, that means a subordinate or a Blood Servant, the most intimate relationship. You can be sure the person you are talking about is one of our own. My boss says to invite him over."

Kerrigan was overjoyed; he looked at the black cloak: "Brother, how about meeting the Blood Clan of this country with me? Maybe they have news of your lover."

"The Blood Clan of this country? Alright!"
