The Boss King actually disguised himself as a novice village chief?!
Chapter 368 - 312: The Master of Inducing Vomiting

Chapter 368: Chapter 312: The Master of Inducing Vomiting

The five-person squad stepped into the Royal City.

The Rand Legion’s bombardment successfully blasted a crack in the majestic walls of Goliath, giving the Undead an opportunity to infiltrate its interior.

From a distance, it appeared to be a minor crack, but as they approached, they couldn’t help but feel awestruck.

It was clearly a profound canyon.

Bricks and stones were trembling down from above, while collapsed wall bricks were piled up into small hills.

The five-person squad consisted of the close-combat Sun Knight "Jane," the attack-proficient Snake People Swordsman in "plain white robes," the ranged Wizard adept at casting "Fireball," the "Li Xiaoyao" Pharmacist who had learned all sorts of Enchantments, and the rich brother "Heather" who had chosen the path of an assassin and was skilled in using various props.

As soon as they entered the Royal City, an expansive yet desolate huge open space appeared before them, with a wide boulevard spacious enough to accommodate at least ten carriages abreast, making them feel as if they were in a land of giants.

On both sides were piles of golden elements, shimmering under the light, as if they had truly entered a city built entirely of Gold.

"Wait, there’s an ambush ahead!" A warning from their teammate Jane immediately put the other four on high alert.

Indeed, up ahead, they saw the figures of the Dragonized Soldiers, their large heads weighed down by cumbersome dragon horns and unable to lift, their long tails swinging restlessly on the ground.

The golden Armor on their bodies blended well with the environment, making it easy for one to overlook them at a glance.

Seeing one meant there were surely others; after scouting the area, they discovered that indeed several other Dragonized Soldiers, poised to strike, were waiting in the shadows to ambush them.

If they hadn’t been cautious from the start, they would certainly have been at a disadvantage, but now they would act in ways the Dragonized Soldiers could never anticipate.

"Wait, let me handle this!" Heather, skilled in crafting props, took out something the size of a palm from his quiver.

A woman’s head trapped in an iron cage.

A Banshee.

These little monsters, capable of stealing other’s voices and rendering them silent, were popular among the Undead groups because they often played a significant role.

Heather casually tossed out the Banshee.

The Dragonized Soldiers in front were so frightened by the Banshee that they turned to flee.

It acted on instinct.

The hidden Dragonized Soldiers also realized their ambush had been discovered; they opened their mouths to wail and tried to launch an attack, calling their comrades with their cries.

But to their surprise, the Banshee stole their voices completely.

The Dragonized Soldiers could only open their mouths, unable to make any sound.

The Undead surged forward, shields clashing, beheading with swordsmanship—the first encounter unfolded in silence. As the Banshee fled into the sky, the restriction on sound was just beginning to lift.

As the silence ended, so did the Undead’s assault.

The bodies of the Dragonized Soldiers lay motionless on the ground.

The Undead began to drink their potions and adjust their conditions on the spot. Facing off against a single Dragonized Soldier was as tough as battling a boss; they strongly suspected they had accidentally entered a late-game map.

"It’s a bit of a shame," said Li Xiaoyao, lamenting the integration of Rand Armor with dragon scales due to their transformation.

The Armor of the Land Soldiers was still quite popular now.

It had a stylish design, offered excellent defense, and was comfortable to wear.

Sometimes cosplaying as a Land Soldier.

Unfortunately, such equipment was not for sale, particularly Armor like that worn by the Rand Legion under Lind, which had undergone numerous improvements and featured various enchantment effects. It even had serial numbers, so it was impossible to purchase with money.

Many props were twisted and corroded by the dragonization disease, rendering them unusable. In the end, they could only pick up the "exploded" weapons and swords, consoling themselves with at least some loot.

The five-person squad continued on and encountered several more battles.

"Dragonized Rand Soldiers are practically masters of inducing vomit."

As they distributed the potion among themselves, Jane complained, "Drinking medicine? It’s just drink and puke."

Luckily, they didn’t encounter too many dragonized soldiers after entering, otherwise, just finishing off these guys would bankrupt them on potions.

After turning right at a statue of a mounted knight that they didn’t recognize, they entered a residential area.

Each house could be explored, which greatly lengthened the time they spent. It took the five-person squad a whole three days to leave this street.

Their quivers were filled with the "trash" they’d picked up along the way.

What interested the undead might be different from what interested ordinary people, like new clothes for instance.

In Goliath’s house, they found clothes with a strong Goliath style. Although they weren’t defensively useful, the clothes varied greatly in style, completely different from Earth’s historical styles yet possessing the same charm of the era.

In gaming, everybody wants to try on all the available skins.

Skins can’t extend the life of a game, but they do delight the player, and playing games is all about having fun.

The only problem was that the quiver could only carry items, not negate their weight.

The quiver was stuffed with various pretty pieces of "junk" they couldn’t bear to toss. They took up just a little space each, but the nearly hundred pounds of weight reminded them that they simply couldn’t carry any more.

By the time Jane emerged from this street, it had already gotten dark.

They stopped in a room they deemed safe for a temporary rest and lit a campfire.

At the very front of the road was a huge noble manor; if nothing unexpected happened, that would be their next destination to explore.

The[Golden Throne]campaign would take at least three to five months to complete, giving them plenty of time for exploration, but they couldn’t relax—other undead were steadily entering the scene.

Like bosses, special dungeons, rewards, and such.

If someone else got there first and cleared them, they would miss out on the spoils.

The campfire crackled softly, casting a red glow on their faces.

"Log off?" Jane asked.

"It’s the weekend today, I’m not logging off," Li Xiaoyao replied.

"I won’t log off either, but I’m going to use the restroom," said the girl in a simple white dress as she raised her hand.

"I need to go too," said the girl in plain clothes.

It was Jane, as the team leader, who said, "Someone stay on guard, so when we come back, this room hasn’t been taken over by dragonized soldiers, or our files might get corrupted."

Ultimately, it was decided that Heather would stay behind while the other four logged off to deal with real-world issues.

Jane took off her helmet and exhaled, wiping the sweat that had accumulated on her forehead with a wet wipe.

Even though this magical helmet didn’t fog up or overheat during intense scenes, it still wasn’t breathable enough.

He casually grabbed the air conditioner remote and pressed it with a "beep", then got up to go to the bathroom. Afterward, he took some snacks from the fridge.

Modern humans find it hard to live without the internet.

Glancing at his phone, he found that the internet was still full of the same old mess—mainly gossip about some celebrities he didn’t know, leaving him baffled.

"I might as well immerse myself in the world of the game," he thought.

The simple world of gaming didn’t require much thought—you get happiness in return for your investment.

Standing in front of the bed, Jane stretched his body, listening to the popping of his bones which seemed to instantly switch his condition from "severely tired" to "very healthy".

The placebo effect was at its peak.

After putting the helmet back on and covering himself with a thin blanket to ward off any chance of catching a cold from the air conditioning, Jane lay down.

He lay back down, ready to re-enter the game!
