Chapter 237: Chapter 205 Space Barrel, Calamity Breeding Program_2

Lind took out a stack of blueprints.

Soilless cultivation!

This land was cursed by the Calamity; plants buried underground couldn’t grow, and the mutated plants that could grow in the Calamity Shadow Region were only fit for mutated humans to eat.

Not only the Old Nobility was abandoned by the times, but the ordinary people who still retained their human form were likewise discarded, just that they had yet to realize it. In a few years or decades, normal humans would disappear from this world.

If someone chose to transform their race like Sharuba and the others, they could directly become a species suited to the new world.

Lind couldn’t possibly abandon his identity, but aesthetically, he couldn’t accept turning green all over.

The food cultivated away from the soil clearly suited his needs.

Originally, the Undead also tried soilless cultivation, but the technology couldn’t meet the requirements in a short time. Later, as the Undead got busy fighting monsters and levelling up, they had even less energy. After Lind’s various "activities" unique to Star Dragon City were launched, even casual players had to grind for Points for new clothes.

They were simply too busy.

"It won’t take too long," Bard declared, thumping his chest, which clanged noisily.

The circulation system wasn’t difficult to construct, and the nutrient solution had already been successfully developed with the collaborative efforts of numerous Pharmacists.

A planting area was set up, not far from Prey Town.

Among the first batch of plants trialed were water celery, known for their fast growth rate. Within days, one could see the water celery extending its tendrils in the nutrient solution, flourishing robustly.

It wouldn’t be long before Lind could eat "old era" vegetables again.

Large swathes of planting areas rose from the ground.

The nutrient solution worked terrifically, with Magic likely playing a significant role.

A group of people was arranged to leave the industrial town and enter the soilless cultivation area, settling down in the nearby dormitories.

"It will probably take about two months to welcome the first harvest."

Lind had been to the west of Red Dragon Foothills recently.

The Red Dragon Foothills served as a natural barrier, able to block potential dangers from all directions, and saved much effort in defense.

The 30th day after the disappearance of the Undead.

Star Dragon City.

At night, Soldiers patrolled the city holding torches.

The pitch-black night had completely enveloped Star Dragon City. Clouds had gathered overhead at some point, and another spring rain was about to arrive uninvited.

Before the torches went out, the patrolling Great Knights switched to oil lamps with a weaker illumination range and quickened their pace to don raincoats before the rain began.

Spring thunder pierced the sky, poking a large hole in the rain clouds.

The sound was intercepted by the thunderstorm.

"Something’s happened over there!" Suddenly, the sky erupted in red light.

Dome’s messy magical knowledge always managed to be useful, like now, providing an instant warning.

The signal drew the Great Knights’ steps through the patrol, turning the rainy night restless and uneasy.

"It looks like the Blood Lambs’ cage!" the speaking Great Knight raised his hand, wiped his face, and flung the raindrops away.

The lightning in the sky arrived just in time, the blue-green light harshly illuminating what was ahead, the iron cage was cracked open!

Blood Lambs, the "idle suicide medicine" of the Undead.

To ensure an ample supply of the "Blood of Madness" from the Blood Lambs, Lind and the Undead intentionally or unintentionally fed them with Fragments of the Heart of Calamity, which caused the originally infant-sized Blood Lambs to grow in a way that completely defied common sense.

The sound of raindrops pattering against armor and the ground seemed to mix with the panting of something.

The Great Knight on the far-left reacted quickly, bending his arm in front of his chest, only for his vision to be immediately overshadowed by a bulky figure, followed by a surge of tremendous force, which sent his Great Knight body uncontrollably flying.

He crashed into a wall, the rubble burying half of his body.

The "little beast" that had been imprisoned attacked and injured one of its own kind, incensing the arriving Great Knights as they looked at the figure that had completely broken free from its chains.

Its body had become extremely strong, its skin blood-red, and it emitted a stench that not even the rain could wash away.

Unbeknownst to them, this particular Blood Lamb had promoted itself to a "Great Knight Level."

However, its counterattack was doomed not to stir up any trouble. To launch a sneak attack during the rainy night was the limit of what it could achieve, and now it was about to face the wrath of the Great Knights.

When Lind learned that a Blood Lamb had broken free and successfully launched a sneak attack that severely wounded a Great Knight, his expression was one of surprise.

The Blood Lamb, whose limbs had been severed, was returned to its cage, the chains reinforced again and again.

When Lind approached out of his own volition, the nearby Great Knight got up nervously to protect him.

"I guess I’m the least in need of protection here, aren’t I?" Lind smiled at the Great Knight and said, "Don’t be too tense, today’s event was indeed an accident. Just be more cautious in the future. How is that brother doing?"

"He has taken the healing potion and will fully recover by tomorrow morning," the Great Knight replied.

"Let him rest for a while longer. I hope that when he wields his sword next, he can exert all his power, rather than fight with injuries," Lind advised.

Lind looked at the Blood Lamb. He had once harbored a similar thought, to continually feed it with Fragments of the Heart of Calamity, maybe cultivating a true Calamity.

Now, it seemed he had succeeded.

But there must have been some trigger; this was certainly not a level one could reach by merely "feasting" or "overfeeding."

"When will Dome come? And Mico, Morena, Brittany, bring all the wizards of Star Dragon City here!" Lind ordered.

"Yes!"

Against the backdrop of the rainy night, all wizards were summoned by the Lord, and their expressions were priceless when they learned that Star Dragon City had truly "raised" a real Calamity.

Calamities appeared after the apocalypse, and their emergence went from being unfathomable to being taken for granted.

When a Calamity suddenly arose in a region, it was as if the land thirsted for water—no need to question why, like an instinct of the land itself.

"My Lord," Dome said, showing great interest as he approached the bound Blood Lamb, "I may know how it came into being."

Lind watched him, and the others also turned their gazes to Dome.

"Maybe it, like us, can hear a certain voice, no, no," Dome second-guessed himself before saying, "The power we take from magic potions comes from the Calamity, the power we steal comes from the lost power of the Ring of Magic. Listening to the voice of All Gods is just confirming our path and not madly turning into a Calamity."

"They have always been able to hear a certain voice," Dome let out a breath, his monologue flowing freely, "But it never understood, their brains couldn’t comprehend it. But tonight, it accumulated enough power, and it also understood—perhaps even related to tonight’s thunder."

"There will be many thunderstorms at this time each year," Lind commented. "You can take your time to experiment. I hope we can master the technique of cultivating a Calamity."

To cultivate a Calamity, mass-produce Hearts of Calamity, and from there, mass-produce Great Knights and Wizards.

"Could you send it to me?" Dome asked.

"Of course, I look forward to your good news."
