Chapter 198: Chapter 182 The Pigeon Replica is Very Engaging_3

However, the Moon Slash Blade couldn’t determine where the lethal injury was on the undead, its heart clearly no longer beating, its shriveled abdomen even had a large hole in it, empty inside, its loose belly skin unable to wrap around the white bones of the ribcage.

It lacked eyes, the sockets devoid of any spirit.

The muscles on the cheeks were slack, and as it moved, its teeth gently collided up and down, its entire body composed of worn-out old parts.

Fortunately, the Moon Slash Blade could still see the health bar... but that was all he could see.

The longsword, which belonged to someone unknown, was a significant threat to the Moon Slash Blade, who was completely unarmed and had no armor. He had to ensure that he could kill his opponent without taking any damage, and it would be optimal if he could seize the sword.

This was a fierce fight. The undead, returned to its primal state, silently reached behind the dry corpse, then wrapped an arm around its neck, attempting to pull its head off. The dry corpse resisted by shaking its body; the collision did not cause any pain. Instead, the face-to-face proximity of the withered, rotting head was unnerving to the point of causing one’s heart to tremble.

Left with no choice, the Moon Slash Blade used ground fighting techniques. Back in his dorm, he would sometimes watch no-holds-barred fighting. Particularly after discovering that his attributes in the game were becoming increasingly powerful, enabling him to easily perform actions impossible in reality, he consciously began to learn those skills.

He took the dry corpse down with a leg lock. The restless dry corpse was grip-locked at its joints, unable to make a sound without vocal cords. It could only be dragged by the Moon Slash Blade in a choke hold, increasingly applying force, tearing the already weak rotting muscles of the dry corpse, until with a "crack," the head came off.

"Huff, huff, huff!" The Moon Slash Blade exhaled sharply, the intense battle having nearly drained him of all his energy.

But fortunately, the outcome was rewarding.

He kicked the dry corpse’s head aside and took the sword from its grip.

[Dry Corpse’s Blunt Sword, comes with skill: Thrust]

"Skills!" His eyes lit up at that.

With the weapon in hand, his combat strength increased dramatically. No longer having to fight enemies with bare hands, he had more options for maneuverability.

Following his first kill, the noise naturally attracted the attention of three to five other dry corpses in the vicinity. They staggered toward the Moon Slash Blade, dragging different weapons with them.

Rusty axes, trembling crossbows that could hardly aim, and even a dry corpse carrying a shield and wearing heavy armor.

As the first dry corpse wielding a rusty axe neared, he raised the sword and executed a Thrust. His body suddenly became lighter, and the sword pierced the adversary’s head in an instant. This marvelous sensation couldn’t help but amaze the Moon Slash Blade.

The attacked dry corpse stumbled, its feet unsteady, the axe in its hands still swinging wildly, showing that the head was not its fatal weakness.

The Moon Slash Blade leapt, kicking the dry corpse in the chest. Using the recoil, he withdrew his sword and rolled backward on the ground, narrowly avoiding the wild chop of the rusty axe.

Then, the bolts from the crossbow fell where he had been tumbling moments before.

His spirit was elevated, the joy of the life-or-death struggle filling him with a sense of intense competitiveness. Lately, he had been playing as a Mage, mostly hiding behind teammates casting Fireballs, then crushing with Chain Fireballs.

Certainly, exploding heads with Fireballs was joyful, but for a real feel of impact, melee classes were better.

He swiftly got up, weaving in front of the two dry corpses, circling round and round. In the moment the crossbow-wielding dry corpse’s view was blocked by the axe-wielding figure, he gave up the evasion and with a swift Thrust charged at the axe carrier.

The sword accurately pierced the neck of the dry corpse, and a "snap" resounded, the robust sensation and the sound providing an intense feeling of satisfaction to the Moon Slash Blade.

The surprise attack successful, he rushed forward to the crossbow-wielding dry corpse and dispatched it with another sword stroke.

In his hands were now another ranged weapon and a few arrows.

The Moon Slash Blade suddenly understood how to play the Banshee’s Illusion Dream: by killing enemies within the dream, farming for equipment and attributes, climbing up layer by layer, and ultimately defeating the final boss to clear the game.

There was no plot here, only high-intensity combat, along with randomly attributed weapons and armor obtained after defeating enemies.

Soon, he encountered the second batch of enemies, whose territories were extremely close to each other.

After seeing the equipment of the enemies, the Moon Slash Blade made a swift decision to turn around and leave. It was better to farm for equipment elsewhere than to stubbornly fight to the death here.

He quickly acquired armor, boots, and even a peculiar ring, which unexpectedly propelled him to level 23. The power of his attributes made slaughtering the undead at the foot of the mountain as easy as mowing the lawn.

However, the gear and items provided by the undead also made him lose interest.

After circling halfway around the mountain, the Moon Slash Blade encountered an arthropod creature halfway up the mountainside. It was a sort of hybrid monster, composed of spider-like long legs and the body of a horse, its arched and blade-sharp six legs pounding the ground as it ran swiftly.

When attacking, the Spider Horse’s body would suddenly rise, lifting its front half and using its four front limbs to launch an attack at the Moon Slash Blade.

This was by no means a fair fight. The Spider Horse’s four front limbs were like four shining swords, their long, chaotic yet orderly thrusts were like facing the frenzied onslaught of four top swordsmen, making it extremely difficult for the Moon Slash Blade to defend.

The weapon and the limbs clashed fiercely, the sound of blocking ringing like hammering iron. If it weren’t for the fact that the longsword was indeed very sturdy, it might have shattered under such a relentless attack.

Suddenly, the Spider Horse sidestepped, then its left front limb shot forward like lightning, causing the Moon Slash Blade to stagger. The right front limb immediately followed up, leaving a wound on the Moon Slash Blade’s chest deep enough to split the armor in two.

The Moon Slash Blade struggled to seize the opportunity to counterattack, but it only resulted in a recoil almost making him lose grip of his sword.

Rolling with the momentum to dodge the next attack, he finally identified the Spider Horse’s weak spot—its underbelly was soft.

His sword successfully sliced the creature’s stomach open, splattering black, thick fluid—it was unclear whether it was spider venom or horse blood.

Driven into a frenzy, the Spider Horse began to bounce before heavily smashing down toward the ground.

"Can’t dodge it!"

The Moon Slash Blade watched helplessly as "six swords" descended from above, engulfing his shadow. The raised sword was knocked away by one spider limb, while the remaining five limbs plunged into his torso.

Dead!

When the Moon Slash Blade awoke again, he found that his level had dropped from 11 back down to 10.

He hurried back to the square, where the Undead had seen him suddenly explode. They were worried and puzzled, but upon seeing the Moon Slash Blade return, they immediately crowded around to ask what had happened inside.

"I want to go again!" the Moon Slash Blade said to Selena in the pool.

Then he turned around and said to the other Undead, "This is a meat pigeon copy, full of monsters and gear. The pace is really fast, super thrilling to play!"

After finishing, he closed his eyes.

The new gameplay was incredibly engaging, bringing exciting new content to what he was beginning to find a somewhat boring beta.

Utterly addictive.
