Chapter 79: Finally Met Cassie

Emma took the seat reserved for Erik. At first, Aryana enjoyed the scenery but eventually, she got tired and rested her eyes. When she opened her eyes, Mu Feng was sitting beside her. Emma was at her back sitting beside Mu Chen while Marlon was seated in front of her with the superior of the engineers.

"You are awake." Mu Feng explained.

"Yeah!" Aryana smiled awkwardly.

"You are highly recommended by my younger brother so I have a proposal for you." Can you share your email address?" Aryana gave her the email.

She soon received a notification and opened her email. It was just two pages. She just needed to wear Mu Feng’s design and post it on her social media account. She will be paid based on the number of likes and shares. She will get a bonus if an order will be made from her referral account.

"That’s all I need to do?" Aryana asked quite surprised. It’s easy money. She thought.

Mu Feng nodded. He followed Aryana’s account and the post she shared earlier already garnered a lot of likes. She was a potential influencer.

"I’ll think about it." Aryana forwarded the email to Erik, Marlon, and her agent Amy.

’A golden opportunity. I’m tempted and I’ll accept this.’ That’s the message she placed in the email.

"Marlon, what do you think?" Aryana said loudly.

Marlon’s ears perked. When he looked back, he saw that it was Mu Feng who was sitting beside Aryana and not Emma. ’Damn, Erik will kill me.’

Marlon checked his email and browsed the proposal. "Looks good." Indeed the offer was very good. He however felt that it was a trap for Aryana.

Marlon secretly took a photo of Mu Feng and Aryana and sent it to Erik.

Marlon: Chinese guy has a business proposal to your woman. Check it out. Aryana is tempted.

He waited for a long time but there was no response from Erik.

Cassie was engaging Erik in an intimate conversation while they were on the way to the airport. She recounted to him how difficult her life was during the first year she left District City. Erik was heartbroken especially when she told him that she was almost gotten raped by a bunch of drunk men one night on her way back from work.

Erik instinctively pulled her close and hugged her tightly. Cassie was encouraged so she continued to weave lies about her and her difficulties to guilt-trip Erik and earn his pity.

"You should have contacted me back then." Erik’s voice was breaking. His heart ached to hear that Cassie suffered so much.

"But it is all in the past. Eventually, I got lucky and made myself a name as a ramp model." She added smiling gently. She burrowed her head into Erik’s neck and inhaled his manly scent.

"Good girl!" Erik caressed her hair. Cassie turned her face upward to kiss Erik but the car stopped and the driver announced that they arrived.

’There will still be plenty of opportunity in the future.’ She hated that she did not manage to kiss Erik.

Erik was already in the Jet when he saw the photo that Marlon sent two hours ago. He checked Aryana’s email and typed a brief reply.

"Reject it." He just pressed the sent button and he received a notification on messenger right away.

Aryana: But why? The job is pretty easy. I’ll just act as a brand endorser and influencer.

Erik: Do you lack money? I’ll give you money.

Erik’s brows creased and Cassie frowned.

Aryana: I’d like to earn my own money, Erik. This is something I would love to do. Please support me.

Erik thought for a while before typing.

Erik: Okay. Suit yourself.

He closed his eyes and massaged his temples. The foreboding feeling he felt earlier was getting stronger. But he can only blame himself. He neglected her.

He sent a message to Marlon.

Erik: Looks like you have a new boss huh? Why is he sitting beside her?

Marlon felt his phone turn icy cold.

Marlon: Boss, it was Emma who was sitting there. I dozed off and when I woke up, it was already him.

Erik sent him three gun emojis.

Erik arrived at the hotel an hour after Aryana checked in. Cassie and her assistant also checked in at the same hotel.

Aryana has just finished her shower and changed into more comfortable clothing when Erik entered their room. Like the other hotels, they got a presidential suite with a huge living room and three bedrooms.

"You are here!" Aryana gave her a very sweet smile and her alluring dimples appeared.

Erik’s heart fluttered. He felt happy to see her refreshing face. Aryana hurried towards him to give him a hug. A strong female perfume assaulted her smell of sense when her face touched his neck. Her heart twitched.

She stopped and stepped back. She faked a sneeze and went to the balcony to open it.

Erik frowned. He was disappointed at her reaction.

"There is strong perfume on you and my allergic rhinitis acted up." She said honestly not daring to look back at him. She was trying to hold back the tear that threatened to fall from her sparkling eyes.

"Sorry about that. I’ll go take a shower." Erik said awkwardly. He did not smell the perfume. Was Aryana’s sense of smell so sharp? He smelt his clothes when he took them off inside the shower and indeed it was Cassie’s perfume. He felt bad.

When he went out of the bathroom a set of casual wear was prepared for him and lying on the bed. Aryana was not in the room. He changed into casual wear and went to the living room to find Aryana and Marlon joking about something and laughing heartily. They became silent when they noticed Erik’s cold presence.

Aryana cleared her throat and said cheerily. "Let’s head to the restaurant and have an early dinner. The others are already there."

The trio entered the elevator to find a pretty slender woman standing well-poised inside. She was as tall as Aryana.

She smiled sweetly at Erik and looked at Marlon.

"Marlon, how are you? It’s been a long time." Aryana recognized that sweet voice. It was the woman who answered Erik’s call earlier.
