Chapter 71: First Month Anniversary

The storm that hit the internet regarding the controversial wedding photo of the CEO of Gaeya Corporation did not subside in the days that followed. It was only when the entire commercial was released that the controversy was resolved.

"So I was right, it was just a commercial." A famous blogger commented.

The hype generated by that leaked photo piqued the socialites of the Central District. Even before the official commercial was released, the Banquet Hall at Bay Gardens was fully booked for the next twelve months.

"Guys, the management has declared that we will receive an additional one-month bonus at the end of the year because of the unprecedented sales of Bay Gardens." All the employees were all grinning from ear to ear when they received this news.

The following weekend, the team of seven left Central District airport for Paris. Aryana was seated beside Erik in the business class. Erik was busy studying the design of the Galaxy Amusement Park while Aryana was counterchecking their itinerary and restaurant reservation.

After an hour on the plane, Aryana dozed off. She accidentally leaned on Erik’s shoulder. Erik closed his laptop and tucked it away. He lifted her head and nestled it on his chest and closed his eyes to take a nap.

Marlon who was setting in front of them took a photo and posted it on their group chat. Two notifications were heard simultaneously.

Franco: Where are you going? Nice photo.

Alex: So the ice sculpture has finally melted.

Marlon: We are off to Paris and Italy. It is mostly business and a bit of pleasure.

After eight hours they landed at Paris International Airport and headed straight to their hotel. Aryana booked separate rooms for the four engineers and a presidential suite for Erik, Marlon and her. The suite has three bedrooms and a huge living room and a kitchenette. From the living room, an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower could be seen.

Aryana booked a dinner for seven at the hotel’s restaurant. She did the booking in French.

"You know how to speak French?" Marlon was surprised.

"Yes. I took languages as my elective. I only know a little bit."

"That’s great. You will not have problems going around here then."

In the next few days, they made several trips to the Eiffel Tower and during the evening, the engineers created drafts of a ride inspired by the Eiffel Tower. It was hard work and they did not stop working until late evenings. Aryana prepared coffee and light snacks for them and helped them with their research materials.

On their fifth day in Paris, Erik announced it was a free day for the rest of the team. They can do whatever they liked.

He took Aryana on a sunset cruise along the Seine River. Tourists visiting the place said that there is nothing more magical in Paris than taking along this cruise, especially during the golden hour.

Aryana relished the feel of the cool breeze of the river on her face as she beheld the man who she was so in love with standing against the sunset. The faint yellow glow enveloped his whole being making him look even more handsome, like a well-sculpted Greek god who came alive.

While she watched the passing scenery with awe, Erik was watching her closely. How he enjoyed looking at the cute dimples on her rosy cheeks. They would disappear for some time only to reappear when something caught her attention that would make her smile.

After admiring the French capital from the water for some time, they were served a five-course meal that was freshly cooked on board. For a starter, they were served half-cooked foi grass, apple and grape chutney, and haddock tartar with lemon confit espuma. For the main course, they had cuisine that only existed in Arayana’s imagination. She thought she has tasted all she had, as she visited a lot of buffet restaurants that featured famous cuisines from different parts of the world. However, the assortment of food placed before her was proof that she knew very little.

They were served grenadin of veal, darphin apple, smoked sucrine, back of cod grilled with sauce fierce, burnt leek, cream of peas, and cauliflower pickles.

They also have an assortment of desserts and how she loved the French macarons that melted into her mouth.

Erik poured wine into her glass. He gestured to a waiter who passed him a bouquet of flowers.

"Happy first-month anniversary honey." He took out a red exquisite box from his pocket stood beside her and slipped a necklace with the letters EA enclosed in a heart-shaped diamond studded pendant. He handed her the flowers and kissed her passionately.

Aryana cried. She never thought that Erik would have such a romantic side in him.

"Thank you, honey. You caught me by surprise and I really love this." Aryana kissed him back.

Erik booked a honeymoon suite in the boat. After dinner, they retired to their room and were treated to a relaxing hot bath. The water in the bath was sprinkled with petals and infused with a sweet fragrance.

The fragrance was an aphrodisiac. Erik and Aryana soon felt their bodies turn hot. They submerged themselves in the big bathtub and celebrated their first month anniversary with passion.

It was past midnight when Erik lifted Aryana from the tub, wrapped her in a robe, and dried her hair with the towel. He carried her and laid her gently on the bed.

"Did I tire you too much?" He whispered near her earlobes in his baritone voice.

"Yes. My waist is hurting. You are a beast Hon." Aryana complained.

"Let’s sleep now and continue tomorrow. I am not done yet." Erik pinched her cheek before covering her with the blanket.

"Thank you for tonight, Honey. I will cherish this memory and lock it in my heart. I love you, Erik." She whispered dreamily to him.

’I hope that this bliss with you will last longer. I hope it is forever.’ She snuggled close to Erik and slept contentedly in his arms.
