The Billionaire's Promise
Chapter 63: Let’s Divorce!

Chapter 63: Let’s Divorce!

Aryana checked the time. It was already 2:00 am but Erik was not yet home. She kept tossing on the bed. Sleep evaded her. It was her first night in their abode but her man was not around. Aryana smiled bitterly. She got up from the big bed and went to the kitchen to heat a glass of milk. They said that warm milk can induce sleep.

She sat by the couch in the living room and reminisced the moments she shared with Erik the day before. At least he spent his entire day and night with her yesterday. It should be enough. She should not yearn for more.

She closed her eyes for a moment. She suddenly felt a chilling presence in the room. When she opened her eyes, she saw Erik standing tall and looking down at her, his eyes were cold and merciless. His voice was even colder when he said "Let’s divorce!"

Aryana was dumbfounded.

"Why?" She asked nervously.

"The woman I love is back." He said expressionlessly and turned around to leave.

Aryana felt pain in her heart. She wanted to call Erik but no words came out of her mouth. Her entire body seemed to freeze. No matter how she tried she cannot move.

The main door opened and Marlon struggled as he lead the drunk Erik inside. Aryana was startled and she woke up. She looked around in a daze and saw Marlon supporting Erik in front of her.

’So it was just a dream. Thank goodness!’ Aryana sighed silently.

"Yana, Erik is drunk. Help me to open the door to the bedroom and I’ll bring him in."

Aryana obliged. Marlon brought Erik inside and put him on the bed.

"Thank you, Marlon. I’ll take it from here."

Marlon looked at Aryana warily. He wanted to say something but decided against it. She did not ask what happened to Erik so he will not explain.

"It is late. Can I stay here tonight? I have clothes in the guest room." Marlon’s voice seemed really tired.

Aryana simply nodded. She followed him to the door and locked it. Then she went to the closet and looked for pajamas for Erik.

Erik reeked of alcohol and Aryana cannot stand it. She took a face towel from the bathroom and wet it with hot water. She wrung out the towel before wiping Erik’s face and neck.

Erik grunted. Aryana removed his shoes and socks. She struggled to get him out of his shirt and changed it. There was no way she will be able to get him out of his pants so she let him be. She threw the face towel and his shirt into the laundry basket before going back to the bed. She leaned on Erik and placed her palm on his cheek to check on him.

Erik grasped her hand and pulled her down. Aryana was caught off guard so her face slammed into his chest.

"Cassie..." he muttered under his breath. Aryana stiffened.

"Why did you not tell me that it was Grandpa? Why did you run away? Why did you not trust me?" Erik’s eyes were half open and he was in a daze. He was looking at Aryana but not seeing her at all.

"Come back. I miss you so much." There was yearning in his voice.

Aryana pushed herself up. Erik’s words hurt her and she wanted to escape from his arms. But Erik did not let her go. He held the back of her head with his hand and sought her lips. He forcefully thrust his tongue into her mouth. His kiss was rough and demanding as if he liked to swallow her whole.

"I love you, Cassie," he whispered hoarsely.

Aryana’s heart sank. She was being taken as a substitute. She forced herself out of Erik’s embrace and got off the bed.

"Don’t leave me again." Erik pleaded.

Aryana stepped back and watched Erik. His eyes closed and his breathing evened out. He finally fell asleep.

Aryana went to the other side of the bed and lay down. She stayed at the edge of the bed creating a space for two more people between her and Erik.

"Lights off." The entire room was filled with darkness. Aryana with her heavy heart sought solace in the darkness as she cried herself to sleep.

When she woke up a few hours later, she was in the middle of the bed being cuddled by Erik who was fast asleep. She gently removed his arms.

She went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. She cooked rice, fried sausages, and egg roll. She also sliced fresh fruits and brewed coffee. After setting the table, she went back to the bedroom to check on Erik but he was still asleep. Aryana decided to take her shower and get dressed before having breakfast.

As the warm water drenched Aryana’s body she could not help but think of the name that Erik called her last night.

"Cassie. That was her name." She said it aloud and listened to how the name sounded.

Aryana felt her chest tighten. ’No, I must not think about her.’ She rinsed the shampoo from her hair and the lather from her body. She was thinking of how to face Erik when he woke up. Will she confront him or will she act as if nothing happened?

When she went out of the bathroom she was relieved to see that Erik was still asleep. She has a towel wrapped around her body and another one around her head. Because she was tall, the towel was above her knees exposing a lot of her legs.

She opened the closet and scanned the clothes that were hanging there. She decided on a black pencil-cut skirt and a matching burgundy short-sleeved blouse.

Before she can take out the clothes, two strong arms caged her.

"Erik you startled me." She cried.

"You are tempting me so early in the morning Yana." He whispered hoarsely as he cupped her breasts with his two hands.

Aryana breathed a sigh of relief. She was half afraid that he would call her another name. At least when he was sober, he knew it was her.

Erik spun her around in one fluid move and wanted to kiss her but Aryana blocked his lips with her hand. She felt something hard poking at her abdomen and she blushed.

"Your breath reeked of alcohol. Spare me. How about you shower first?" Aryana teased him.

Erik chuckled. Without warning, he lifted her and carried her to the bathroom.

"Let us shower together," Erik said seductively.

"But I am done showering." She protested.

"Then shower again."

They emerged from the bathroom after one hour. Aryana’s face was beet red as she remembered the shameful things Erik did to her and taught her to do. What’s more embarrassing was that she felt undeniable pleasure and she liked every moment of it.

Marlon was already having his breakfast when they came out of the room. He grinned and his gaze was meaningful.

"Why are you here?" Erik asked harshly. He was displeased that they have company.

"I reheated the food as it became cold. Hurry and eat." He did not answer him.

Aryana sat beside Erik and started eating.

"You cooked this?" Erik who was already in a good mood asked her.

"Yes. Sorry, they are very ordinary food." She murmured.

"Silly girl. I am happy that you cooked breakfast." Erik reached out and ruffled her hair.

Aryana hummed. She contemplated for a while before deciding that it was the right time to ask Erik about last night.

"What happened last night, Erik? Why did you suddenly leave and come back drunk?" Aryana asked in an aggrieved tone.

The fork that Marlon was holding dropped to the ground.

Erik stiffened.
