Chapter 41: Kidnapped

Aryana and Antonio did another take of the scene and this time Antonio did not play any trick anymore. They finished the scene after the third attempt. Aryana changed into a yellow sundress with small blue flower designs. She wore a straw hat and sunglasses and she walked hand and hand with Antonio on the cobbled pathway surrounding the pool.

They shoot two more scenes before taking a break for lunch.

"Aryana, Amy, I’ll walk with you to the restaurant. Bay view restaurant is reserved for the models and the crew today." Antonio lead the way and Aryana had no choice but to follow because Amy was dragging her along.

"Mr. Lopez, I don’t normally believe in coincidences. How did you become my partner today." Aryana blatantly asked him.

"Why so formal now? Earlier you called me Antonio." He frowned.

They reached the restaurant and a waiter escorted them to their table. Antonio pulled a chair for Aryana but she pushed Amy into it while she sat opposite him. Antonio was furious and it showed on his handsome face.

"To answer your question, I asked specifically for you to be my partner." He answered her in a charming way. "So you prefer my front and you don’t like to look at my side profile that’s why you chose to sit in front of me eh? No matter which vantage you look at me, I am still handsome."

’What a conceited man.’ She looked at him harshly but kept the words to herself.

Antonio flirted with and pestered her the entire afternoon. Aryana has to put up with it as she did not want to draw attention to her. She was thankful when they were called to do the last scene.

For the last scene, they waited for the sunset. Aryana was wearing the white flowing dress again. Antonio wore a white tee paired with grey sweat pants and they were standing at the edge of the swimming pool. They were at arm’s length from each other, holding both hands and looking into each other’s eyes. The breeze blowing from the bay caused her dress to flutter and her hair to dance creating a beautiful visual effect. The fiery ball of fire receding into the water was between them and their backdrop was the sky that was splashed with an assortment of shades of red, orange, and yellow.

Everyone was mesmerized by the breathtaking view. The sunset that day was spectacular and the shooting ended on a happy note.

Aryana was happy when Antonio left in a hurry after the shoot. She and Amy decided to have dinner in a nearby fast-food restaurant and after that, they parted ways. Aryana was about to book a car when a taxi stopped in front of her. She happily get inside and gave the driver her address.

She was too tired after a hectic day that she fell asleep. When she woke up she noticed that the road they were passing through was unfamiliar and there were very few vehicles. She checked the time it was already 8:00 pm. She slept for an hour.

Aryana tried not to panic. "Mister, this is not the way to my apartment." She said as calmly as possible.

"This is the way to heaven." The driver replied happily.

No matter how calm she was she cannot deny that she was scared. She took out her cell phone and was about to make a call.

"Don’t even think about it. You have no signal. This car is equipped with a signal jammer." the driver’s evil laughter filled the car.

"Who hired you? Who are you working with?" Aryana started to panic.

"I work for no one. I don’t like sharing my prey with anyone." He smiled wickedly.

Aryana was silent. ’I have to think how to get out of this. Do I jump out of the car? But I might get injured considering the speed of the car. The farther we move away from the city the more dangerous it will be for me.’ She thought.

She remembered that the cellphone she was using was given to her by Erik and it was originally for him. She did not reset it. She was counting on the possibility that there was a tracker installed. She put her phone on silent mode before pressing the SOS app. Yes, there was this app called SOS and Marlon once mentioned that it was an app designed for Erik’s safety. She pressed the button.

"Are you scared my Naiad? Don’t worry, we will arrive soon and I promise you that I will make you happy." He looked at Aryana through the rearview mirror. His eyes were full of lust.

"This is kidnapping. You will get more than twenty years in jail." Aryana tried to control the fear and panic building within her but there was a tremor in her voice.

"Mwa ha ha ha ha. You are starting to excite me my water nymph." Aryana shuddered when she heard his maniacal laughter. "Let the police catch me if they can."

’Why does he calls me Naiad and Water Nymph?’ Aryana wondered.

He seemed to read her mind. "You were very beautiful in that white flowing dress. You were just like a nymph that has risen from her bath. You must taste delicious my Naiad."

"You were in the photo shoot earlier? Are you one of the crew?" Aryana probed.

"I admire your courage and calmness my pretty Naiad. You are not like the other girls who were hysterical and very noisy. I looked forward to playing with you." He smiled evilly but because the car’s interior was dark Aryana was not able to see it.

Aryana studied him. He seemed like a big man and he was no ordinary taxi driver. He exuded a dark aura that sent chills down Aryana’s being. Aryana contemplated what to do. She has to escape no matter what.

"There is no escape for you, my pretty Naiad. You can only surrender to me." He said slowly and enunciated his every word.

Aryana felt goosebumps all over her body. ’Did he read my mind or is it just a coincidence?’

"We have arrived, my pretty Naiad." He said in a voice that came from the depths of hell.
