"What is it, Brother Chen?" Mu Lan asked.

The bodyguard frowned.

"Did you know that your photos have taken the internet by storm? The dresses you’ve showcased were all sold out. You are amazing Sis!" Mu Chen wanted to give her a hug but the bodyguard prevented him.

"Madam’s belly is big. It is not convenient for her to hug you."

’This scumbag! How dare he block me from embracing my cousin?’ Mu Chen cursed internally.

"Cousin, the guard is right. I almost crushed baby Eri." Mu Chen spoke gently to Mu Lan but he wanted to throw Ken out of the residence.

Mu Lan took her cell phone and opened the website of CoChi.

When Erik saw her frown, he hurriedly went to her side and took her cell phone away.

"Madam, the baby in your tummy might be harmed by the blue light from the cell phone. Please stop looking at the screen."

In a blink of an eye, two months had passed. Erik had been staying most of his time in the Mu ancestral home. He has become overprotective of Aryana to the point of having conflicts even with his grandfather-in-law and Aryana’s two cousins.

That night, in Erik’s room, he took off Ken’s face which was just a hyper-realistic mask. He removed his clothes one by one and stood underneath the shower. He relished the feel of the warm water droplets on the skin of his face.

Wearing the mask was uncomfortable so he enjoyed the few hours that he could be his real self.

He changed into his pajamas and was about to turn off the light and slip under the cover of the quilt when he heard a commotion in the other room followed by a shout from Nanny Wan.

Forgetting that he was not wearing his mask, Erik ran out of his room and barged into Aryana’s room.

"What happened?" Erik asked anxiously. He saw Aryana sitting at the edge of the bed and seemed to be in discomfort.

"Her water bag broke." Nanny Wan said in a panic.

The middle-aged nanny turned around to face the bodyguard but she froze when she saw the man. She screamed again and asked in fear.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?"

Erik ignored her question and glared at her. "What are you standing there? Go tell the driver to ready the car."

"Yana, are you alright?"

The harsh voice when he shouted at Nanny Wan was replaced with gentleness when Erik bent and checked on Aryana.

Another bout of contraction assaulted Aryana. She cried because of the pain. She did not notice that the man attending to her was not the bodyguard, Ken.

Nanny Wan came through the door. She was panting. "The car is ready."

"Let us take her to the hospital. Go take her luggage and follow us in the car."

Aryana smelled the familiar scent of an aftershave.

Her bodyguard was carrying her, princess style, and from her vantage, she could see a well-defined jawline and a tall nose bridge.

A memory flashed in her mind but before she could grasp it, she felt pain in her stomach.

Aryana cried.

The Mu siblings woke and were coming down from the second floor. But by the time, they reached the ground floor, Erik had already boarded the car and instructed the driver to drive to the hospital.

Erik placed Aryana in the backseat. The way he handled her was like handling a delicate china. He let Aryana’s head rest on his chest and his strong arms caged her body.

Arayana was clutching both of his hands. Every time she had a contraction, her grip would tighten and without her knowing it, her fingernails dug into Erik’s palms.

"Can you drive faster?" Erik looked at the driver. It was apparent that he was impatient.

"Sir, this is already the maximum that the city limit allows. Any faster and we will be apprehended." the driver politely explained.

Erik gritted his teeth.

"How are you, Yana? Are you in pain?" Erik wiped away the beads of perspiration that formed on her forehead with the back of his hand. Then he gently smoothened her hair.

"What do you think?" Aryana asked weakly. From what she learned, her contractions shouldn’t be this frequent yet. Was it because her water bag broke?

Erik reached for his cell phone that he placed inside the pocket of his sleepwear. No matter how muddle-headed he became, he would always remember the important things. He can leave without his wallet, but he can’t leave without his cell phone.

He called Mu Lan’s Obstetrician.

"Doctor, Mu Lan’s waterbag broke and she is having contractions. We are on our way to the hospital."

The doctor on the other line frowned. She knew Mu Lan but the man talking on the other side of the line was not the patriarch of the Mus, nor her cousins or her bodyguard. His voice was overbearing and could command obedience to those who hear it.

"Who are you?" the doctor asked.

Before Erik could answer, Aryana who was in his arms, writhed in pain. She bit her lips to prevent herself from screaming. At the same time, she grasped the hands of the man who was holding her.

"Meet us at the delivery room of the hospital."

The doctor realized that the man had hung up. She hurriedly changed her clothes and asked the driver to send her to the hospital.

When Erik arrived at the hospital, he did not wait for a wheelchair to be brought to him. He carried Aryana directly to the elevator and then to the third floor where the delivery room was.

As it was late at night, there were few people in the corridor but the few nurses and patients’ relatives who happened to be out in the hallway could not help but take a glance at the handsome man who looked sexy in just his pajama.

"Nanny Wan, please handle the admission. I’ll take Mul Lan directly to the Delivery Room."

Mu Feng had also called the director of the hospital. When Erik arrived at the DR, the resident doctor and some of the nurses were already waiting.

"Put her over here." The resident doctor instructed Erik.

Erik placed Aryana gently on the bed.

"Her water bag broke. She had four strong contractions that lasted 40 seconds in the last ten minutes."

"Are you her doctor?" the resident doctor who did not know about Mu Lan asked.

"I am her husband."
