Chapter 171: Starry Starry Night

Aryana changed into a comfortable cotton sundress with short sleeves. Erik also changed into board shorts and a tee shirt.

There were two beach chairs and a small table set up in front of their villa. Erik brought with him two wine glasses and a bottle of red wine. He and Aryana went out and lounged on the chair. He poured wine into their glasses and they enjoyed their drinks while enjoying the night view.

It was a cloudless night. The stars were clearly visible against a backdrop of the darkness of the night. They were like a million diamonds scattered across the black sky.

"What a beautiful sight. The stars are clearly visible as compared to when viewed in Central District."

Erik was not happy lying down on the beach chair by himself. He took the two beach towels he brought and laid them down side by side on the sand.

"Come here." He beckoned Aryana.

They lie down on the sand, Aryana’s head on Erik’s forearm.

Under the dim light of the stars and the light coming from their villa, Aryana’s face looked ethereal.

They lay on the sand for a long time, looking at the stars and listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore a few meters from them.

Aryana took a shower to remove the stickiness of the salty breeze. She changed into a sexy lingerie that she purposely bought for Erik’s birthday. She put on a robe before coming out of the bathroom.

Erik came inside the bedroom with the wine and the glasses.

"I’ll take a shower." He went inside the bathroom.

Aryana dried her hair. Afterward, she took out the gift she prepared for Erik. She also lit the scented candle she brought for the special occasion.

Erik came out of the bathroom with just a towel wrapped around his lower body. Aryana stared, captivated by the sight of water dripping from his black hair forming droplets on his shoulders and chest.

"I’ll dry your hair." Aryana offered. She took the hair dryer from the drawer and asked Erik to sit down. Aryana ran her fingers through his raven hair as she blow-dried his hair.

Erik smelt the sweet scent of the candle and the corner of his lips curled up.

"So what is your birthday gift for me?"

"It is a surprise. There are still fifteen minutes before your birthday."

After drying Erik’s hair, Aryana took off her robe and stood in front of Erik. Erik swallowed. He regarded her with eyes filled with desire and grabbed her by the waist and placed her on top of the dresser. He held the back of her head with one hand then pressed his lips to hers.

Aryana did not realize how hungry she was until she had the first bite of the sandwich that Erik prepared for her. She finished her breakfast in no time.

She gave Erik his birthday gift. "There is one more at home. I did not bring it because it is a bit bulky."

Erik opened the gift. It was a blue necktie and a vintage rectangular cufflinks."

"Thank you, Honey. I like them very much, but the best birthday gift I have this year is you." He gave her a quick kiss on the forehead.

They left the island the following morning and took the plane back to Central District. Erik messaged Marlon to meet them at the airport.

When they arrived at the airport, that was only the time Aryana turned on her cell phone.

Marlon met them at the arrival area.

"Finally you have returned!" He said in a relieved voice. "I am on tenterhooks while you were away. Why did you not turn on your cell phone?"

"I went on vacation so I did not want disturbance."

"Your grandpa is very angry at you." Marlon stole a glance at Aryana and whispered to him. "He is blaming Aryana for your wayward behavior."

"Why did Grandpa look for me?"

"Well, he wanted to celebrate your birthday at the Lee Ancentral home."

"Why is there a celebration all of a sudden? They did not bother to even greet me in the past 20 years, so what is the difference?" Erik was furious.

"Well, Grandpa said you contributed a lot to the success of Gaeya Corporation so you deserve a party. He asked Cassie to organize that party."

Erik smiled slyly. "So this is for Cassie’s sake? I am intrigued."
