Chapter 149: I Will Never Forgive You

Erik mulled over Aryana’s words. If the syndicate conducted an investigation, they will find out that Erik’s and Aryana’s presence in the arena were just coincidental.

Lieutenant Abares approached Erik and Aryana. He was wearing civilian clothes.

"Miss Jones we meet again." He greeted her politely.

Aryana gave him a hesitant smile.

"You are not pleased to meet me?" He smiled. "I understand because when we meet, it means you are in trouble."

Aryana laughed lightly. "I know right. I hope to meet you but not in this circumstances."

Erik cleared his throat to catch their attention. "I’ll accompany Aryana to the police station. See you there."

Erik pulled Aryana and led her to the elevator. He called his driver and told him to pick them up at the entrance of Xeon hotel. He had also messaged King of Aces If he can hack on the CCTV of the arena and investigate if there were suspicious people around.

At the police station, Aryana filed a kidnapping case against Sonia and against the syndicate. Rex Abares personally assisted her.

"The syndicate is called Black Mamba. They operated casinos and prostitution dens. They are also into kidnapping, carnapping and drugs. Their center of operation is in the North District." Rex volunteered the information but he noticed that Aryana was not interested.

"Are the triplets the big boss of the Black Mamba?" She asked.

Both Erik and Rex looked at Aryana. Why was she interested as to who leads the syndicate?

"No. They are just the right hand and the most trusted lackeys of the big boss." It was Lieutenant Abares who responded.

Aryana looked worried. "So they are not the big boss. Anyway, you have ways of making them divulge who their big boss is, right?"

"Unfortunately, not even them had seen the face of the big boss. His code name is ’Palos’."

’Palos’ meant slippery in Central District.

"Let the police handle the matter Yana. Now that you have filed the case we can go home." Erik was not comfortable because Aryana was wearing a very revealing dress. His coat only covers a portion of his thighs.

Aryana nodded. She was also tired and wanted to rest.

They were heading out when a female officer approached them and asked. "Are you Mr. Erik Lee sir?"

Erik hesitated before nodding.

"There is someone who wants to see you."

The female police officer led them to a visiting room where Sonia was. There was a glass that separated her and Erik. Aryana just stayed back and watched.

"Sir Erik, I begged you! Please save me and my daughter." She cried pitifully.

’Indeed she is a very good actress’ Aryana said to herself.

"That is what I intended to do. I was just about to save you and your daughter but then you kidnapped my wife and put her in harm’s way. And I will never forgive you for that." Erik’s voice was cold that Sonia shivered.

"She is your wife?" Sonia’s eyes widened and her legs turned into jelly. How did she turned out to be his wife? She and her daughter were doomed!

"Sir Erik, I didn’t know she is your wife. I was left with no choice. Boss X will kill my daughter if I did not do what the asked me to. Please save us. You are our only hope." Sonia started to sob.

"You chose this path Sonia. Didn’t my wife talked to you earlier to let her go? Still you let her be treated like an object and sold to an auction." Erik’s eyes glinted and his voice became even colder.

"I beg for your forgiveness. I didn’t know she was your wife. For the sake that I took care of you when you were little and for the sake of your sister, please save us." Sonia wailed.

Erik who was about to leave turned back sharply at her.

"My sister? How dare you lie to me? Do you think that I’ll just believe your words without proof? Don’t take me for a fool!"

Sonia cowered in fear. She has provoked him and he was very angry.

"That was your fist mistake. I could have let it go but you crossed my bottom line when you attempted to hurt my wife."

Erik glared at her one last time. He turned and walked to the direction where Aryana was standing.

Sonia slumped at the floor and continued to wail. Her last hope was shattered and she only has herself to blame.

The female police officer helped her up and escorted her back to her cell.

"Mom, why are you crying? What did your Sir Erik say? Is he going to get us out of here?" Rita, her daughter asked expectantly.

Sonia was shedding real tears this time and not just crocodile tears. "That woman was his wife. He will not help us." She said incoherently.

"What Mom? Can you stop crying? I can’t understand you."

Sonia wiped her tears away and calmed herself.

"Rita, the woman I kidnapped was Erik Lee’s wife. That’s what he said but I don’t see them wearing a wedding ring. Maybe she was just his mistress."

"What do you mean Mom?"

"Sir Erik will not help us. I angered him." She said calmly. "Rita listen to me. The kidnapping case is against me only. You are innocent and a victim yourself. Your chances of getting freed is very high."

Rita looked at her mother. She was confused as to what she was driving at.

"When you get out of her, try to hook up with a rich or a powerful man. The syndicate has trained you on the art of seduction. Use that to your full advantage."

"Mom?" Rita looked incredulous.

"It’s our only way now. Promise that you come back and get me out of here." Rita can only nod to her mother.

Erik and Aryana left the police station and went directly to the Penthouse.

"Have you eaten dinner?" Erik asked. She shook her head.

"Take your shower first. I’ll cook something for you."

Aryana obediently left the kitchen and headed to the bedroom but not before stopping at the kitchen door and looking back at Erik with a loving gaze.

He donned an apron and started cooking. Aryana wore a gentle smile before retreating to the master’s bedroom.

Earlier at the Xeon hotel, the man in black suit went into the room that he booked. He was the elusive ’Palos.’

He opened his laptop and loaded an application that gave him access to the cameras installed at the arena.

He pursed his lips as he watched the triplets being apprehended and handcuffed. All his men in the arena were captured.

’Damn it!’

His cellphone rang. He checked the caller and it was Cobra, the one in charge of their Viper Compound hideout, the place where all the kidnapped females were kept.

"Boss, we are being raided." Cobra sounded agitated.

"What? How could it be? Get the hell out of there!" Palos yelled at his cellphone.

He heard gunshots from the other end of the line and then nothing.

The man in black suit stared at his phone for a long time before ending the call.

He got back on his laptop and accessed the CCTV at the Viper Compound. He witnessed how his men were thrown on the ground and then handcuffed.

’Damn it, Where is Cobra?’ He didn’t find him so he was hoping that he has escaped.

’Who was behind this raid? It couldn’t be Erik Lee right? Aryana Jones was only kidnapped after lunch. Erik couldn’t have mobilized such coordinated attack in such a short time.’

He reviewed the clips taken at the arena. He realized that there were many police officers who disguised themselves as bidders and occupied strategic positions in the arena, hence it only took them a short time to round up his men.

He contemplated as he rewinded the video clips. He zoomed in on the man who seemed to be the commander of the team. He captured a screenshot and sent it to Zero.

"Investigate this man and check whether he has something to do with today’s raids."

He massaged his temples. He has a headache. Black Mamba has suffered tremendous losses in one night.

He received an incoming call and he trembled slightly. ’Damn! I’ll be doomed.’

’Hello Grandpa." His voice quivered a little.

"What the fuck happened there?" The old man shouted on the phone. Palos moved his cell phone away from his ear.

"I am still investigating Grandpa. The arena was raided at the same time as the Viper Compound. A lot of our people where caught including the triplets."

"Damn it! You’re so useless!" His grandpa’s shrill voice seemed to pierce his eardrums.

"I’m sorry grandpa. I messed up." He said in a respectful tone.

"Fix this mess and be sure to get the triplets back. Assign them to South District as they cannot stay in Central District anymore."

"Yes Grandpa." He answered meekly.

"You know the punishment if you mess up again!"

"Understood ..." he heard a click. The call has ended.

There was another incoming call and Palos frowned when he saw that the call was from Zero.

"Boss! Someone has hacked your laptop. Police are coming to you. You have to leave right now and don’t use the elevator."

He did not waste anymore time. He grabbed his laptop and shut it down, them exited the room and headed for the fire exit.

"Erik Lee, even if you were not the main culprit for this, your presence at the arena and your interaction with that lieutenant only showed that you are partly responsible for my dilemma. This is another of your sins against me and I’ll make you pay." He murmured as he disappeared in the fire exit.
