"That wouldn’t be a problem at all. We are grateful to the congressman for his help." Vince profusely thanked the man.

Aryana sneered. She could deduce that the congressman was related to the incident.

Ronnie wrote Vince’s name on the check and had him sign some documents. He also took photos.

"And who is this lovely lady beside you?" Ronnie asked while eyeing Aryana with interest.

Vince frowned. He did not like the way the man was eyeing Aryana.

"She is the assistant project manager of the project I was working on previously." Vince gave him a vague answer, but he did not introduce her name.

"She looked familiar, though. I just can’t remember where I had seen her before," Ronnie said.

Aryana chose to remain quiet, and Vince did too. Ronnie tried to linger but eventually left when Vince and Aryana were silent. He threw one last glance before saying goodbye to Vince.

When he was gone, Vince was happy to receive such big money.

"I can’t believe I got so lucky today. Not only was Jessa’s medical fee paid, but I also received this aid from the congressman. I am grateful to him. I will campaign and vote for him," he said while kissing the cheek.

"You need not feel grateful to him. He is using people’s money, not his," Aryana said seriously.

"How did you know that? Vince asked, still feeling high from receiving so much money.

"The check is in the name of Garses Foundation."

Vince studied the check. "You are right. So this is not from his pocket."

Aryana nodded.

"What are you going to do with that?" Aryana was curious. She pointed at the check in Vince’s hand.

"I’ll return the 200k to you, and I’ll buy the motorcycle so I can apply as a delivery man. The rest I’ll deposit, and when Jessa gets well, maybe we can start a food cart business or a small restaurant. Both my mother and Jessa cook very well." Vince was excited.

"Sounds like a good plan."

Aryana’s gaze landed on a blue notebook on top of the small table beside the bed. She casually scanned the pages and was surprised to find a lot of drawings of anime. What caught her attention was the beautiful clothes that the characters were wearing. A lot of details were included in them.

"Did you draw this?" Aryana asked excitedly.

"Yes." Vince was surprised to hear the excitement in her voice.

"They are very good, especially the clothes and the necklaces," she exclaimed as she continued to browse through the pages. When did you learn to draw?"

"Since I was very young. I learned drawing before I learned to write my name. I guess it is a talent that I was born with. Drawing has become my hobby. I especially like to draw animes and cartoons."

"Then what the heck are you doing on a construction site?"

Vince turned gloomy when he heard Aryana’s question.

"I only finished high school. Companies hiring designers require a college degree, and I cannot afford to go to college," Vince answered sadly.

Aryana pursed her lips. She understood him. There were many talented people out there, but they didn’t have the opportunity.

"Can you draw clothes for casual wear and for going to work?"

"I can try. I’ll show it to you when I am done." Vince looked excited. If there was something he liked the most, it was drawing. And he was glad someone appreciated his work.

Arayana checked her watch. It was almost seven p.m. She looked at the serene-looking woman on the bed.

"How is she?"

Vince sighed. "She is still the same. She does not respond to any stimulus, but I am talking to her all the time. I told her about you, an angel sent our way. I hope she will wake up soon to meet you personally."

Aryana smiled. "Stop referring to me that. I only tell you that I am an angel sent to you, so you’ll open up to me."

"But indeed, you are an angel. Look at this." Vince showed her the check. "I don’t think the Garses Foundation will know about us without you." Vince continued to flatter Aryana.

Aryana’s face turned a little red.

"I will leave now. Take a rest. Jessa’s surgery is at 8:00 am tomorrow, right?"

Vince nodded. Nervousness appeared on his face.

"Don’t worry. Alex said that the neurosurgeon who will handle her surgery is the best in this hospital," Aryana reassured him.

"Alex?" Vince’s eyebrows were raised.

"He is a friend and the director of this hospital," Aryana said in a casual manner.

She left the hospital and was going to the entrance when someone bumped her. She dropped her bag.

"Hey," Aryana yelled at the man who had bumped into her, but he hurried out of the hospital.

"I believe this is yours?" A dark-skinned hand reached out and passed the bag to her.

Aryana accepted the bag. When she looked up to the man to say thank you, she was surprised to see that it was the same man who gave the check to Vince earlier.

"Thank you." She managed to say a polite thank you but she became wary.

’Did the man intentionally wait for me? But this is the hospital so he should not be able to do anything to me right?’ Aryana thought.

She walked towards the pick up area to wait for the driver. The man tailed her.

"My name is Ronnie. I am a straightforward man so I will cut to the chaste. I fancy you so how much for a night?" His voice sounded seductive but Aryana was disgusted.

She stepped away from him before saying, "You cannot afford me Mister, so don’t even think about it."

Ronnie felt insulted. ’Is she looking down on me? Isn’t she just an assistant project manager?’

"Fifty thousand for a night." He proudly said. That should be a lot of money.

Aryana chuckled.

"I am not that cheap."

"I’ll double it then. A hundred." He said. He moved closer to her.

’Where the heck is the driver?’

"I said you cannot afford me. Besides I am waiting for my driver." She made another side step to create distance from him.

Ronnie was offended and pissed off by her arrogance. He grabbed her by the wrist.

"Let’s go home! Our daughter is waiting at home." Ronnie said aloud as he tried to drag her to the car park.
