THE BILLIONAIRE STILL WANTS HER!
Chapter 99: Some story

Chapter 99: Some story

Tryson stared out the window, his mind clouded with swirling thoughts, unable to shake the realization that Arthur—of all people—had done something so unforgivable.

The weight of uncertainty pressed down on him, gnawing at his conscience.

What if there were secrets buried beneath the surface, hidden truths that had been deliberately kept from him?

The only thing he had ever been sure of was that Arthur was his father’s nephew, and that single fact had fueled an endless war between them—a ruthless struggle for power, control, and dominion over the dynasty.

It had been seven years since Tryson uncovered the truth about his lineage.

At nineteen, he had learned that he was his father’s son, and from that moment on, he had done everything in his power to earn his father’s love.

Yet, no matter how much he tried, the distance between them never seemed to close.

Then, just when he came of age, his father introduced him to the ultimate key to securing his place—Angel.

She was more than just a woman; she was a stepping stone to everything he had been fighting for.

Three years ago, his father had brought her into his life, and ever since, he had been trying to win her over.

They had started a relationship, but soon, Tryson realized that his responsibilities outweighed his desires.

There was a mission at hand, one far greater than his personal longing for Angel.

Despite his efforts, their relationship never flourished the way he had hoped.

Something had always held him back, a hesitation he couldn’t quite explain.

And then came the day when everything blurred—when he could no longer recall how things had unraveled between them.

He had been desperate to prove himself to his father, yet in the process, guilt clawed at him.

Was he using Angel? Was he leading her into something she was never meant to be part of? The thought terrified him.

And then there was the contract.

Angel’s signature was necessary to complete what had been set in motion.

His father had kept her within his reach for so long, weaving her into the web of his grand scheme.

But then, just when everything seemed inevitable, Angel’s supposed mother had taken a stand—cutting ties with Tryson’s biological father in a desperate attempt to shield Angel from the chaos that loomed over them all.

Angel had been so young at the time, yet every responsibility was thrust upon her the moment her so-called mother chose to walk away from her so-called father.

Tryson understood—her supposed mother had only been trying to protect her, shielding her from the storm that loomed ahead.

But Angel, trapped in her own perspective, could only see her hardships as the direct consequence of that severed relationship.

She believed that her father had abandoned them out of cruelty, divorcing and disowning them without a second thought.

But that was far from the truth.

Her so-called father had never let go—he had merely been biding his time, lurking in the shadows like a predator, waiting for the perfect moment to strike and reclaim what he had always desired.

Yet, in the face of his ruthless hunger, Angel’s mother had made an impossible choice.

Her love for Angel had been unwavering, so much so that she was willing to endure any hardship, even if it meant forcing Angel down a grueling path of suffering.

She had done everything in her power to ensure that what rightfully belonged to Angel would not be stolen from her.

And then Tryson entered the picture—a child of circumstance, tangled in a web of family secrets and betrayals.

His arrival couldn’t have been more perfectly timed.

Just when Angel needed help the most, he had appeared, offering her a lifeline. Yet, despite the strength he had tried to embody, he had been painfully vulnerable.

Because none of it had been a coincidence.

His presence in Angel’s life had been carefully planned, orchestrated by forces beyond their control.

And the worst part? Arthur—the most cunning and insatiable of them all—had played his role in this game as well.

Tryson knew Arthur all too well.

That man would never sit idle, never let an opportunity slip through his fingers. The proof was undeniable—Arthur had taken Angel the moment his family cast her away.

He had wasted no time, manipulating every turn of fate to win her over. And at one point, he had succeeded.

He had gone as far as to father Angel’s child, securing his place in her life.

But Tryson wasn’t going to let him win.

Not anymore.

If Arthur wanted Angel—no matter the reason, no matter the method—then he would have to go through Tryson first.

And Tryson had no intention of making that easy.

His jaw tightened, determination burning in his eyes as he turned his attention to the man seated across from him—one of his most trusted men.

"I want you to find out everything you can about Arthur," Tryson commanded, his voice steady and sharp.

The man nodded without hesitation. "Yes, sir. We’ll get on it immediately."

Time was slipping away, and Tryson wasn’t about to waste another second.

Angel needed to sign those documents—there was no alternative.

He cared for her, perhaps even loved her, but that didn’t change the fact that she still held something he needed.

He had worked too hard, fought too long, to let everything slip through his fingers now.

The car rolled to a smooth stop, pulling him from his thoughts.

"We’re back at the hotel, sir," the driver announced.

The man in the passenger seat immediately stepped out, moving swiftly to open the door.

Tryson emerged with effortless elegance, his every movement controlled, his every step filled with purpose. Tonight, things would change. One way or another.

And for various reasons, he found it impossible to shake the thought that, in one way or another, he had to be ready for whatever was coming his way.

After all, he was determined that he would not allow himself to be defeated so effortlessly.
