Chapter 91: Did you miss me too much?
"Did you miss me too much?"
Angel, still reeling from the unexpected kiss he had stolen, couldn’t help but playfully nudge Tryson’s arm.
A deep crimson blush bloomed across her cheeks, and a soft chuckle escaped her lips, betraying the mix of surprise and amusement swirling within her.
With a mischievous glint in her eyes, she inched closer to him, her lips forming a teasing pout as if she were about to return the kiss.
But just as Tryson leaned in eagerly, she abruptly pulled away, a triumphant smirk dancing on her lips.
Like a playful child reveling in a game, she shut her eyes briefly and, in a deliberately dismissive tone, quipped, "Of course not, I didn’t miss you one bit."
For a fleeting moment, she watched as shock flickered across Tryson’s face.
Then, with a dramatic flourish, he placed a hand over his chest, feigning deep heartbreak. "Such hurtful words," he uttered, his tone laced with mock despair.
Angel couldn’t contain her laughter as she reached out, brushing his hand away with a lighthearted touch.
Shaking her head, she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, her smile lingering as the playful tension between them filled the air.
At that moment, Tryson watched her intently, captivated by the graceful way she moved.
Every little action held his attention, and before he knew it, a soft smile tugged at his lips. Unable to resist, he leaned in closer and pressed a gentle kiss to her cheek.
Angel froze, her breath hitching as warmth spread across her face. She hadn’t expected that—not this time.
Tryson’s unpredictability was beginning to catch her off guard more than she cared to admit.
"Tryson..." she gasped, turning to him with wide eyes. A playful yet flustered expression crossed her face as she lightly smacked his lap, her voice lowering to a murmur. "What are you doing? Everyone is watching us."
But Tryson didn’t seem to mind one bit.
Instead, he reached out, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear with deliberate tenderness.
However, he didn’t stop there. His fingers lingered, teasingly tracing the delicate curve of her ear, sending a soft shiver down her spine.
His voice dropped to a warm, velvety tone.
"If you must know, Angel... I missed you—a lot. I really couldn’t stand being away from you for too long."
At his words, Angel turned her head toward him, her heart suddenly hammering in her chest. There was something about the way he looked at her, something undeniably deep and sincere.
"Really? You actually missed me?" Angel asked, tilting her head slightly as she studied Tryson’s face.
Without hesitation, Tryson nodded eagerly, his expression almost childlike in its sincerity.
"Well—" Angel paused deliberately, fluttering her lashes as she let the silence stretch just long enough to build a little tension. She smirked, locking eyes with him before continuing, "You better get used to it, because you’re so troublesome, I’m actually considering handing you over to someone else."
Tryson’s lips immediately jutted out into a pout, his expression resembling that of a sulking puppy.
"Oh my God," he groaned dramatically, "I didn’t know I was that bad." Then, as if struck by sudden inspiration, his eyes glimmered with mischief. "But you know what? I think I know exactly how to ease this tension."
Angel arched a brow, curiosity flickering in her gaze. "And how exactly—"
Before she could finish, Tryson suddenly wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a warm embrace.
Caught off guard, Angel let out a surprised gasp, but the moment she felt the steady rhythm of his heartbeat against her ear, a soft chuckle escaped her lips.
Resting against his chest, she raised her hand and gave him a light smack. "You’re impossible," she murmured, amusement lacing her tone.
Then, tilting her head back to meet his gaze, she asked casually, "So, how was the meeting with your father?"
Her eyes searched his, curiosity and concern subtly woven into her expression as she waited for his response.
Tryson lowered his gaze toward her, his expression softening as he gave a slow, gentle nod.
"It was okay, nothing much," he said casually, his tone even, though there was a certain weight behind his words.
Angel hummed in response, her head still resting comfortably against his chest.
With idle amusement, she lifted a finger and began tracing slow, lazy circles on his skin, her touch featherlight.
"You seemed pretty worried when you first heard your father was coming," she mused, her voice playful yet curious. "I thought it was something serious."
Her finger continued its absentminded motions, as if coaxing him into revealing more.
Tryson exhaled lightly. "Well, it wasn’t anything major," he admitted. "But we were discussing something."
That made Angel pause. Lifting her head, she tilted her chin up to meet his gaze.
"What was it about?" she asked, her tone now laced with genuine interest.
Tryson hesitated for a brief moment before answering. "There’s a gala event my father is planning, and he wants me to attend tomorrow," he said. "I decided I should go."
At that moment, Angel could only nod, but a faint trace of sadness flickered in her eyes. She tried to mask it, forcing a small smile as she spoke.
"Oh... okay then. So that means you’ll be leaving me early tomorrow?" Her voice was light, but the slight drop in her tone betrayed her disappointment.
Tryson, however, shook his head. "No, actually, Angel." His voice was calm, reassuring. "The reason it took a bit longer was because I was planning to take you with me."
Angel blinked in surprise, her sadness quickly replaced with curiosity.
"Besides," he continued, "with the rumors Arthur started, I figured the only way to silence them was if we both showed up together. So I pitched the idea to my father, and he agreed."
For a moment, Angel just stared at him, processing his words. Then, slowly, her lips curved into a radiant smile.
Joy sparkled in her eyes, and she couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement at the unexpected turn of events.
"Seriously? I get to—" she began, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm, but just as she was about to finish her sentence, something caught her attention.
"Hm, is this the order for customer 206?"
A woman’s voice suddenly cut through the moment, interrupting their conversation. Both Angel and Tryson instinctively turned their heads toward the speaker, momentarily pulled back into reality.
