THE BILLIONAIRE STILL WANTS HER!
Chapter 49: The fun

Chapter 49: The fun

Some time ago, Riley stood and then sat on her seat anxiously, her heart pounding as she checked her watch for the hundredth time.

Tryson was late—too late.

Her fingers curled into a fist, an unspoken urgency burning in her chest.

She had to talk to him.

Earlier, she had pleaded with her father to reconsider pulling out of the partnership with Tryson’s company.

She had been so certain he would agree—until his response shattered her expectations.

He had refused. Flat-out. No explanation. Just a cold, unwavering rejection.

Shock rippled through her, but the true blow came moments later when Ana whispered the devastating truth—Tryson had secured a massive stake in her father’s company.

The realization sent a chill down her spine.

Had Tryson played her all along? If he now held the strings, was her father’s empire nothing more than a pawn in his hands?

Her mind raced with questions, a mix of betrayal and confusion twisting inside her.

Their fathers had been friends for years—so why had he agreed to her proposal in the first place, only to trap them in a web of his own making?

"Ma’am, Mr. Tryson is no longer at the hospital," Ana reported as she approached, her voice steady but cautious.

She had done exactly as Riley had asked—sent someone to track his whereabouts—but the news she brought was unexpected.

"What?" Riley’s breath caught as she swung her legs off the bed, her heart hammering. "What do you mean he’s gone?" Her wide eyes locked onto Ana, disbelief and tension thick in the air.

Ana hesitated for a second before continuing.

"Karina mentioned that Angel might have lost her baby... so why the sudden change of plans?" Riley’s voice was sharp, suspicion laced in every word.

Something wasn’t adding up.

Ana remained calm. "Ma’am, it’s possible they finished their appointment and left for another location."

"Another location?" Riley repeated, her voice dropping to an icy whisper. "Like where?"

A chilling silence filled the room as she slowly lifted her head, her gaze locking onto Ana’s with a cold, calculating stare.

Something wasn’t right. And she intended to find out exactly what.

"Ma’am... he could have taken Miss Angel somewhere else. Somewhere private, where they could be alone," Ana said hesitantly, carefully choosing her words.

Riley’s expression darkened instantly.

A storm brewed in her eyes as her fingers curled into a tight fist. The very thought of Tryson and Angel alone together sent a surge of fury coursing through her veins.

"Find out exactly where he took her," she commanded, her voice laced with ice.

Ana nodded, but Riley barely noticed—her mind was already spiraling with confusion and a gnawing sense of curiosity.

Without a second thought, she stepped out of the room, her pulse racing.

The air around her felt unnervingly still, as if the world itself had paused in anticipation. Then—a car pulled up at the front of the house.

Riley froze. Her breath hitched. Something about this felt... off. Unexpected.

A deep frown settled on Riley’s face as she stepped down the stairs, her eyes narrowing at the sight before her.

A man, clad in a fitted black shirt, exuded an ominous aura as he strode inside without hesitation.

Riley descended the stairs, her heels clicking against the polished floor. "And who are you?" she demanded, her voice sharp with suspicion.

The man barely acknowledged her, offering only a single glance before reaching into his pocket. Without a word, he extended his phone toward her.

Riley hesitated before taking it, her brow furrowing as she watched the video playing on the screen.

The voice in the recording sent a chill down her spine. When it ended, she silently handed the device back, her expression unreadable.

She tilted her head, her voice turning ice-cold. "And you seriously think you can find her?"

The man remained silent for a beat, his gaze unwavering, his presence unsettling.

Then, at last, he spoke—his voice a deep, gravelly bass that sent shivers down her spine.

"Mr. Tryson knows exactly what it means to deal with us," the man said, his voice low and unwavering.

Riley scoffed, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.

"Oh, I’m sure everyone knows what it means to cross your boss. But somehow, Tryson managed to dip his hands into the wrong cup of cake." Her tone was laced with sarcasm, her gaze sharp as a blade.

The man remained unfazed.

"Boss wants her returned. The longer this takes, the worse it gets." His words were a warning, but Riley only tilted her head, amusement flickering in her eyes.

Then, with an air of nonchalance, she lifted the phone still clutched in her hand. "You know what? I think I’ll just record this for your boss."

Bringing the device to her lips, she spoke with deliberate ease, her voice smooth yet taunting.

When she was done, she turned the phone back toward him, her expression unreadable.

"I have no idea what Tryson plans to do, but I do know exactly what am capable of," Riley said, her voice laced with both urgency and quiet fury.

She took a step closer, eyes gleaming with determination. "But before we go any further, you need to promise me something. The moment I bring Angel back, he won’t bring her here ever again. I mean it. She has overstayed her welcome in my man’s house, lurking like a parasite, and I want her gone—for good."

Without another word, she shoved the phone into the man’s hand, her fingers lingering just long enough to make sure he understood the gravity of her demand.

The man barely reacted, his expression unreadable as he finally spoke.

"Your message will be delivered." His tone was flat, almost mechanical, but there was a weight to his words that sent a chill through the air.

Then, without hesitation, he turned on his heel and disappeared into the shadows, leaving behind nothing but a heavy silence.

The moment the man disappeared into the shadows, Ana stepped forward, her voice hushed but urgent.

"Ma’am, I’ve managed to track their location," she announced, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.

For a second, silence stretched between them—thick, charged. Then, slowly, Riley’s lips curled into a devious, knowing smile.

The kind of smile that promised chaos.

Wouldn’t it be far more satisfying to watch how this all unfolded? To witness firsthand the storm she was about to unleash?
