Chapter 102: I shouldn’t try such tactics with you...

"I know, I know... I shouldn’t try such tactics with you," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "But now that we’re here, I can’t help but wonder... how did you figure out it was Samson?"

His words were a distraction, his movements deliberate.

Before Angel could answer, Tryson’s lips brushed against her skin again—soft, teasing, coaxing. He trailed kisses along her jaw, then down to her neck, his touch warm and insistent.

Angel tried to resist, her mind screaming at her to stay firm, to not fall for his games, but the way his lips moved, the way he whispered against her skin—it was breaking down her resolve.

The moment his lips grazed her collarbone, a breathless chuckle escaped her, betraying her attempt at keeping a stern facade.

"Oh my, Tryson, you’re such a tease," she murmured, shaking her head as she tried—half-heartedly—to push him away.

But Tryson wasn’t about to be dismissed that easily. His smirk deepened as he leaned in even closer, his breath fanning against her skin, his hands firm yet gentle as they explored her curves.

"Your brother was even too scared to touch me," she added, amusement lacing her voice.

Tryson let out a husky chuckle against her skin before responding, his lips never straying too far from their target.

"Well, he knows what’s good for him. If he dared lay a hand on you, he’d be digging his own grave."

His words sent a shiver down Angel’s spine—not out of fear, but from the sheer intensity of his presence.

Poor Samson, she thought absentmindedly, recalling the torment she had put him through.

But now, here she was, wrapped up in the arms of his brother—someone who clearly had no intention of letting her go anytime soon.

"Such a poor soul," she murmured, her voice laced with mischief as she peered down at Tryson. "He had to suffer through my little performance, and yet, here you are... completely unwilling to let me go."

At that, Tryson paused, lifting his head to lock eyes with her.

The air between them crackled with tension, a moment of silent understanding passing before he leaned in again, this time pressing a deep, claiming kiss against her lips.

A soft moan escaped Angel as she instinctively arched back, her body molding into his.

Tryson responded instantly, one hand sliding down to her thigh, his touch slow and deliberate, igniting a fire that burned hotter with each passing second.

His other hand slammed against the car wall, caging her in, as he devoured her lips with an urgency that sent sparks rushing through her veins.

Angel could feel the heat pooling deep within her, an intoxicating mixture of desire and restraint.

She was losing herself in him, in the way he moved, the way he touched her—but just before they crossed the threshold of no return, she found the strength to pull away.

"We have to stop," she breathed, her voice shaky yet firm. "Not until we get to the venue."

Tryson groaned, his forehead resting against hers as he exhaled heavily.

His disappointment was clear, but he knew she was right. He had waited this long—what was a little longer?

Still, he couldn’t resist stealing one more kiss, a slow, lingering one that left her breathless all over again.

"Okay then," he murmured, his voice hoarse with restrained longing.

Angel chuckled, shaking her head at his relentlessness. She knew he wasn’t going to give up that easily. And sure enough, instead of pulling away, Tryson dipped his head lower, his lips trailing down toward her belly.

As his gaze fell upon the slight curve of her stomach, a soft, knowing smile played at his lips. He pressed a gentle kiss to her skin, his touch unexpectedly tender.

"I hope the baby is flexing in there," he teased, his voice filled with warmth and mischief.

Angel let out an embarrassed laugh, swatting at him lightly. "Tryson, you’re impossible," she mumbled, though she secretly never wanted the moment to end.

And maybe—just maybe—he didn’t either.

Tryson held her gaze, his expression unreadable, but there was a quiet intensity in his eyes. Then, after a brief pause, he spoke.

"You should know... I’ve been making some decisions," he said, his voice calm but deliberate. "I called my lawyers to get the contract drafted. But Angel, it’s not just about the contract."

Angel’s brows furrowed in confusion, her head tilting slightly as she tried to grasp his meaning.

"What do you mean by the contract? I thought we were going to take care of everything once we got home?" she asked carefully, searching his face for answers.

Tryson exhaled slowly, his lips curving into the smallest hint of a smile. He reached for her hand, his thumb gently stroking her palm as he continued, his voice laced with certainty.

"Well, Angel... one of my surprises for this vacation is that by the end of these three days, I want us to be officially married." He let the words settle between them before adding, "I don’t want to wait anymore. I don’t want anything—anyone—to come between us. That’s why I made this decision."

The moment his words landed, Angel’s breath hitched.

A soft flush crept up her cheeks, her lips parting slightly as emotions crashed over her like a wave.

Shock.

Gratitude.

Overwhelming happiness.

She didn’t need time to think.

Without hesitation, she lunged forward, wrapping her arms tightly around Tryson’s neck, pressing herself into him as if afraid he would disappear.

A breathy laugh escaped her, filled with sheer delight, and before she could stop herself, she peppered kisses along his neck and cheek, unable to contain the warmth spreading through her chest.

Tryson let out a low chuckle, his arms winding around her waist as he pulled her even closer.

He had expected her to be surprised—but this? This reaction filled him with a satisfaction so deep it made his heart swell.

For a moment, they just held each other, the world around them fading into nothing.

And then, as Angel pulled back slightly to meet his gaze, her eyes shimmering with something raw and real, she spoke with quiet determination.

"Yesterday, I made a decision too," she confessed, a small but meaningful smile curving her lips. "I broke things off with Arthur. I realized... there was nothing left between us. I was holding onto something that wasn’t real. And the truth is..." She exhaled, her fingers tracing lightly over Tryson’s cheek. "I wanted to be with you. More than anything."

Tryson’s heart pounded, a slow grin tugging at his lips.
