Knock knock .

Knock knock.

"Who is there?" Dora said weakly.

No one answered but the knock continued. She creased her brows when she suddenly remembered that they had no neighbors around yet someone was knocking on the door.

"It could not be Oberon right? We warned him to stop coming here."

She looked inside to see if Nyx was coming out but it seems she had slept off beside Archi.

Dora sighed, stood up and went to the door.

"Who is it?" She asked again.

There were no muffled voices, so she couldn’t clearly hear what they were saying.

"Huh?" She turned the door knob and peeped.

All she saw were elderly werewolves, she gasped and immediately closed the door, intrusive thoughts rushing into her head.

"What do they want? Why are they here?" Her heart was racing.

Knock knock.

Her head couldn’t think of any other reason why they were there, it only thought of impossible things.

"What if they came here for.." she bit her lips, "No way, that can not happen."

She closed her eyes and inhaled, "Just go out there and ask for the purpose of their visit, I can do this."

She sighed and opened the door.

"Who are you? What do you want? Go away please, you are not needed!"

They all creased their brows in surprise, this did not look like Nyx at all.

"Where is Nyx? You are not Nyx are you?" Demetrius asked.

She drew her head backwards, they came here for Nyx too?

She paused not wanting to answer all of a sudden, she twisted her lips.

"She is inside, is there a problem?"

"We came here to see her," Icarus chipped in.

She was hesitant for a while, she didn’t know how Nyx would react to this, "Come insides," since she thought it wasn’t nice to keep elderly men standing.

They got into the living room and almost gasped, it was such a small inconvenient place.. for them, there was no way the chairs there could be so accommodating for them.

Demetrius sighed, he was short of words.

Icarus cleared his throat, "I think it is best we stand, the chairs would not be so comfortable."

The others agreed with him.

She arched her brow, "If you say so," she shook her head.

"Could you please ask Nyx to come out? We want to talk to her," Demetrius said.

She squinted her eyes, "Who are you? How are you related to her?"

They all sighed, Roshan decided to speak on their behalf.

"We come from the king’s court, we are his council, and we were sent here on his behalf."

"For what if I may ask?"

Roshan arched his brows, "Why do you ask so many questions? We just want to see her, that is all."

She frowned, "Do you think she would come out if I told her you came from the king’s court? She has an issue with the king, do you not know that?"

Demetrius held his head feeling defeated, he never knew the pack would one day fall into a problem such as this.

"We know, and that is the wrong we came to rectify."

She was hesitant at first but decided to play along, she nodded and walked into the rooms.

They all waited outside patiently, a bit of tension hanging out in the air.

"This feels strange, for some reason I feel she would not want to go back with us," Icarus spoke up.

They all looked at him, "I feel that too," Gonzalo, the most peaceful of the elders said.

"Hmm, it would not be surprising if she disagrees, Oberon did her wrong, we all did her wrong, it is only right for her to be angry."

"We need her heir, we were wrong to think Selena would be fertile, seems she was not after all," Roshan shook his head.

Dora came back after a few minutes, giving them all a strange look.

"Where is she?"

Nyx appeared behind her, she took a few steps forward and walked up to them.

"Good day, may I please know why I have strangers in my house?"

They were disheartened, realizing Nyx no longer recognized them.

"Do you not remember us Nyx? The council, from the king’s court?" Roshan asked.

Nyx frowned,"from the king?"

"Yes, Alpha Oberon’s court."

Her countenance changed, "Why are you here?"

"We have come to beg for forgiveness, we did you great wrong and we are really sorry about it."

She rolled her eyes, "I do not need your apology, please go away, and tell him I said no!"

Gonzalo shook his head, "Just as expected," he muttered.

Demetrius sighed, "You have to bear with him Nyx, he thought she was actually the one for him."

"That is none of my business, she is his mate now, she definitely deserves all the love and attention, I do not have a place there any longer."

Demetrius stood up, "Please Nyx, you have to consider again, the pack is in the danger of breaking up, we have no heir and Oberon’s throne is at danger and is being threatened."

"Oh? How is that concerning me? When I was being treated like a dog back then, no one saw it, how come everyone remembers me now?"

"We made a huge mistake, and we are ready to make up for our wrong, give us a chance."

Nyx turned away, the elders were making her soul break inside, she almost gave in, they weren’t the ones who wronged her, Oberon did.

A part of her son’s heart was no longer with him and Oberon seemed to be the only solution but whenever she remembered all he did, she only broke down the more.

"Just please go away, I do not want to come back, please."

Demetrius took out the gift bag and dropped it in front of her.

"What is that?"

He took out the crown, "This is the crown, from the king’s very own head, he recognizes his heir and requests it to be on his son’s head."

Nyx’s jaws dropped, Oberon had gone to this extent?
