The Alpha's long lost heir -
Chapter 24: Her Archi
Chapter 24: Her Archi
She lay on the wet grass weakly, she was numb and cold. She tried to move her legs but they were to numb to move.
She opened her eyes slowly, she was lying besides a tree, the rains had stopped falling and the cold air was biting.
She looked around, the guards were no where around her. She held her head and groaned.
"What happened? How did I get here?"
She sniffed and tried sitting up, her legs were heavy and it was painful trying to move them. She finally sat down, shivering.
She looked around, there was no shelter for miles.
"Where am I going to start from? There is no where to lay my head," she gulped down nervously.
She hugged herself and shivered.
She looked at her stomach, tears welled up in her eyes and she sobbed silently.
"I am so sorry, I failed you. Now, I do not know where and how I am going to raise you." She inhaled sharply.
She hugged herself more tightly and sobbed the more, "Where will I start from? You tried telling me? The stranger wolf tried telling me but I did not listen. Now, I am all alone here, I do not know where else to go." She sniffed noisily.
The clouds began to rumble again,"Oh no." She gasped.
She shifted closer to the tree hoping to get shelter from it.
"Oh my goodness, the rains are definitely going to fall," she wiped her face.
The lightings flashed and the thunder roared. Her heart skipped a beat, she was already cold, what else would happen if she was beaten by the rains?
She couldn’t think of anything to cover herself to protect her from the cold, there was nothing protective enough around.
The rains began to drizzle, she shivered the more, she hugged herself, shielding her stomach.
Soon the drizzling rain poured down in torrents. Luckily for her the tree had enough leaves to serve as an umbrella but it did not protect her from the biting cold.
It continued for a long time, and it seems the rains would never stop. She was shaking terribly, she buried herself in her arms, trying to get as much warmth as she could.
"I wish.. I just wish.. we could.. get shelter, that would go a long way." She said with her teeth clattering.
It had already gone dark and the rains had not stopped falling.
She couldn’t find her way around even if the rains stopped.
"Archi... My Archi..." She muttered, her teeth clanging.
Something bright enveloped her, she looked up but could not stand the brightness coming from the source of the light. She shielded her eyes from the light but the aftermath images flashed before her.
There was howling of the wind, flashing of lighting, and then a loud rumble and a silent whisper.
...
Everywhere seemed warmer and much more brighter. There was this sweet smell of dishes filling the air.
She snapped her eyes open, "Where is this place?"
"You are in safe hands." A voice came from beside her.
She blinked and turned her head in the direction the voice came from.
"Who..." She stopped when she recognized the man beside her, it was that same wolf!
She sniffed when she saw him and broke down in sobs.
"Look, it has already happened. You just have to move on."
She sobbed the more, "I did not listen to you."
"It does not matter anymore. Just leave that aside." He said calmly.
She sniffled, "What do I do?"
"You know what you are supposed to do Nyx, fight for yourself and fight for your unborn pup."
She wiped her eyes, "Fight?"
"Yes, fight, fight for a living, fight for your survival."
She creased her brows slightly in confusion, "Fight..." She muttered.
He nodded.
There was silence for a while.
"How... How.. did you find me?"
"He called me." He replied.
"He?"
"Your son," he replied simply.
She widened her eyes.
"He was your savior, you should really treasure your son when he finally comes. He is special."
Her eyes filled with gratitude, she held her stomach and rubbed it slightly.
"Archi... My Archi. He is my Archi."
"So it seems."
She smiled with tears in her eyes. She turned to face him.
"Thank you.. thank you so much." She bit her lips.
For the first time since she knew him, he actually smiled.
"I am with you Nyx, I might not be close by but I will be with you." He said softly.
His normally scary appearance had now become more friendly.
He faced the wall and walked towards it.
"Wait..."
He stopped in his tracks, "Yes?" He did not look back.
"Let me at least know your name," she requested.
"That is not important for now, just take care of yourself," he vanished.
She patted her stomach, "Thank you my Archi."
She sniffed in, the smell of the dishes made her mouth water, she did not have a meal before running away from the palace.
She got down from the bed and looked around, it was a small cottage, though it was not as elegant as the palace or her parents house, it was just comfortable.
She smiled weakly, and traced the smell of the dishes, she got to the dining room and saw dishes being set on the table. She wondered if the stranger wolf (who had now become her friend) had set the table.
She sat down at the table and took a spoon. It was really delicious. She took a few more bites, then the thoughts of Oberon flashed in her head.
Seeing him hugging that lady hurt her so much, she sniffed and dropped her spoon. She tried so much to shove the thought out of her head but it refused and stuck stubbornly to her head.
She pushed the plate away from her and coveted her mouth, tears filed her eyes, no matter how she tried, they kept pouring down in torrents.
"You hurt me Oberon, you really hurt me. So shall it be for you. For the pain you caused me, you will also know nothing but pain." She palmed her face and sobbed.
