Archi walked through the hallways, his brows knotted together in annoyance.

"I just hope I do not rip off his head just like that!" He mumbled.

He was so focused on his thoughts that he didn’t see the other person who was coming his way. He bumped into the person which sent his bag flying across the room.

"Ugh! Do you not watch where you.." he paused, and his heart skipped a beat. A sweet smell wafted through his nostrils, and instantly the rage in his heart melted away.

He whipped his head up to look at the wolf in front of him. She was of small stature, she had hazel eyes, a pointed nose, and rosy pink lips. Her brown hair cascaded down her back, and shoulders giving her oval face a very pretty mysterious look. See was the one, she was his mate!

She just stood there staring at him with wide eyes that clearly showed admiration.

"I love this scent.. your scent."

His eyes brightness, and he opened his mouth to say something, but suddenly remembered his ’scent’ was not actually his, but his best friend’s.

Sadness seeped into his heart, as he knew very well he could not reveal himself, yet.

He looked away, not wanting to say anything.

"Are you new here? Lost? Let me show you around," she smiled sweetly at him.

His wolf twisted in agony. How could he not have her yet? Why did he meet her here? He just wished he could take of his mask, and tell her he was her mate already.

He quickly went across the hall to get his bag, his heart pounding within his ribcage. She went to meet him there.

"Are you okay? I am sorry I bumped into you."

He clenched his fists, and turned on his heels, "Excuse me, I am sorry."

He began to go in another direction hoping he would lose her, but she was having none of it.

"Wait.." she called after him.

"I have not seen you here before. What is your name?"

"Arc.. I mean Logan," he cleared his throat. His wolf growled in rage. He was lying to his own mate!

"Nice to meet you Logan," she chuckled, "I am Aria," she stretched out her hand for a handshake.

He hesitated for a while, then took her hand in his. Her warm, soft hands sent shivers down his spine. His cheeks flushed pink, and for a moment he forgot he was holding her hand, and he involuntarily squeezed it.

"Ow!"

He snapped out of what he was thinking, and exhaled, "Oh, I’m sorry, that was an accident," he apologized.

She shook her hand as if trying to get rid of the pain that way, "it is fine. Do not worry about it," she smiled.

"Where are you headed?" He cleared his throat trying to sound firm.

"The garden," she played with her fingers.

"Oh, good," he bit his lips, and nodded.

"Where are you headed?" She asked him.

He arched his brows, where was he headed? He stopped, Oberon didn’t tell him where he was going to stay, and he rolled his eyes.

"Damn it!" He cursed silently.

"What?"

"I.. am new here. So.. I was hoping to find.. the guards’ quarters," he bit his lips.

"Are you not from this pack?"

"No the neighboring pack."

"Oh, that is not bad. You did come to the right place after all."

She laughed lightly, her laughter ringing in his ears, how sweet it sounded in his ears. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Let me walk you there. I know where it is."

He nodded, "Okay thank you."

There was silence as he had nothing to say to her. He finally broke the silence after a few minutes.

"Why are you here? You work here?"

"No. I am the daughter of elder Zephyr."

He arched his brows, "Who?"

"He is one of the elders who talk with the king. Uh.. he says he is among the king’s council."

"Oh, right, right."

They got to a building. It wasn’t as royal looking as the palace but it was looking comfortable enough.

"Here it is. The guards’ quarters," she grinned.

He nodded, "Thank you so much Aria," he looked at her passionately.

Her cheeks heated, and she looked away, "Yes,you are welcome."

He faced the building, and exhaled deeply, "This is going to be my life for the next few weeks," he mumbled.

"Uh.. Logan?"

He turned to see her still standing there, "What?"

Uhm.. I know you are new here, but I was wondering, would you want to sit with me for some minutes? It is boring out here, there is no one to talk to, and you seem quite interesting."

His smile broadened, "Of course," he faced her.

She chuckled, "You might want to keep your bag first," she teased.

He nodded, "Oh that. Sure, I will be back in a jiffy. Hold on," he hurried into the house, so he could drop his bag.

"Who are you?" He walked into one of the guards who was coming out.

"I am Logan," he replied coldly, and walked past him.

The guard turned to look back at him. Chills ran down his spine, there was something off about this particular guard that raved his wolf.

Archi just walked into one of the rooms were two guards were lying down on their beds.

He exhaled deeply, "Hello. I am Logan, I am new here."

The guards stopped what they were doing, and looked up at him. They shuddered at his presence, wondering who this omega was.

"Logan?" One of them sat up, "You are a guard here?"

"I said it a few minutes ago that I was new here," he shrugged, and walked towards a bed to drop his bag there, "It is nice meeting you two," he headed back to the door.

The two of them were dumbfounded by his boldness, and it was striking thier hearts.

"Would you not like an introduction first?" One of them asked him.

He sighed, "I am sorry. I can do that when I get back, someone is waiting for me. Bye," with that, he was out of the room.

He hurried back to the entrance, hoping she was still there waiting for him.

"Hey there Aria," he waved as soon as he saw her standing beside the building.

She gave him a smile when she saw him, "Oh, Logan. Let us go," she stretched out her hand, and he took it.

They walked back to the garden.

"You seem to be a very nice man. I hope you are as nice as you appear?"

His heart failed him when she asked that question. Of course not, he was not as nice as he appeared. He did not even come back to the palace so he could become a guard. He came for a dirty purpose, a very filthy mission.
