Chapter 172: Condemned!

"So do you forgive me?"

Nyx faced her, "Do you want me to?"

"Of course I do. I do not mind if I get punished by Oberon, but as long as you forgive me, I am okay."

Nyx laughed, "Hm, good."

"Risa you see. You were being fed with lies, and well it was not entirely your fault though, but I do not see the reason why you wanted to kill me."

Risa’s eyes stung with tears, and she looked away, "I.. was wrong. It is just that.. till now, I have still not met my mate. You met yours when you were eighteen, how come I have not met mine? I was just so jealous and pained"

Nyx blinked, "I.. never realized he was my mate. I did not smell his scent, so I thought he just married me for formal.."

"You did not smell him? What do you mean?" Risa creased her brows.

Nyx scratched her neck nervously, "Selena was supposed to be his fated mate. Hehe, it was all a mix up, the moon goddess had something else in mind."

"So you mean, Selena was once his fated mate?"

"She was.. for a while."

"Why would the moon goddess make such a mistake?"

"She had other plans," Nyx looked away, a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips, "I guess, it actually worked out good for me."

"If all these had not happened, I would forever remain a timid little wolf, I would not have been the Luna which is my rightful position, also Oberon would forever remain the tyrant he was."

"All these events, has taught us a lot. You see, now you know the meaning of living without hate."

Risa nodded, "I should not have done all those things to you. You have always done things rightly, but because of the lies they fed me with, I chose to ignore them. I am sorry.

Nyx nodded, "That is fine."

"So, do you forgive me?"

"I hold nothing against you. If I decided to hold those grudges against you, I would be a villain right?" She laughed.

"No, I do not think so. It is your right to take revenge though. I will accept any kind of punishment you want to punish me with."

Nyx got to her feet, "I think Oberon would be the one who would do that right?"

Risa felt a lump in her throat, and she swallowed hard, "I guess you are right," she nodded.

"Okay, let us go back inside."

Risa stood up too, and followed her inside, "The least I could do, is plead on your behalf. If he refuses, you would have to face the punishment he gives you," Nyx said, and walked away, leaving her there.

Risa stood there, feeling dejected, and also relieved.

"It is right they punish me though. I did a horrible thing to the pack," she inhaled, "I have no other choice," she exhaled deeply.

She walked inside.

"Is everyone here yet?" Oberon asked Nyx.

"Yes, they are all gathered. You can now proceed," Nyx gave him the go ahead.

Oberon moved forward so all the members of his pack, could see him.

"Greetings, members of the lycanthropy pack."

"Greetings your Majesty," they all answered in unison.

"It is a pleasure to have you back here. It has been a while, since we left, all because our pack was infiltrated," he exhaled.

"First of all, I would like to render my heartfelt apology to you all. I, as your Lycan king could not resist them, and so they succeeded in infiltrating our pack."

"You all had to go live in other packs, and I can imagine the discomfort that had come with it. I am very sorry for that."

He grinned, "It is also my pleasure to tell you that, those who had Infiltrated our pack, has been conquered, and they have been subdued."

The pack clapped, and cheered, "Long live the king! Long live the king!"

Oberon felt satisfied, and happy. He had yearned to see the glow on his pack’s faces again when he told them this.

He waved his right hand, and they all went quiet.

"So, that means, we can go about our daily lives without any fear of the enemy. They will no longer trouble us," he nodded slowly.

"Who would do this to us anyway? Who brought in the rogues?" A voice asked from the crowd.

They began to murmur In agreement, and demanded to know who had done this to them.

Risa’s heart began to thump loudly. A cold sweat broke out on her forehead, but she quickly wiped it off. She took a deep breath.

"You do deserve a punishment anyways. Just accept your fate," she told herself, and swallowed hard.

Oberon waved his hand again, and they fell silent.

"Who did this to us was definitely not from outside the pack. A very member of this pack, brought in the rogues."

"Who was it?"

Oberon looked at Risa, and motioned for her to come forward.

Risa took timid steps towards Oberon. She stopped besides him, trembling.

"Lift up your eyes," he ordered.

Her lips quivered, and she began to sweat again. She slowly lifted up her eyes.

"She is the one," he intoned.

An uproar came from the pack. Everyone demanding her head to be cut off.

Risa fought back the tears that welled up in her eyes.

’What have I done?’ She bit her lips, fighting the urge not to cry.

The angry pack would not stop raining curses on Risa, and demanding she was killed that Instant.

Oberon raised his hands again, motioning for them to keep quiet.

"That is enough!"

The hall went silent.

He sighed, "I understand what you all are going through. Your anger is justified. She did a very horrible thing to all of us," he paused, letting what he had said to sink in.

"But she also helped me in fighting the enemy."

"Huh? How is that possible?" They began to murmur among themselves.

"Yes, she did help me. So right now, she has a wrong, and a right."
