The Alpha's long lost heir -
Chapter 114: Lost Alpha
Chapter 114: Lost Alpha
Oberon had carved what he said he would, given it to the different leaders of each group and sent them away, wishing them well.
After they had all gone, he sat down on a rock just opposite his palace, once again sadness filled his heart.
He looked on at his very own palace, it had been taken away from him. He closed his eyes, trying so hard to bottle the tears in.
Someone came and held his shoulder. He qui quickly wiped his eyes and looked up, it was No one.
He raised his brow, "Yes?"
"Why are you sitting here alone?"
"Obviously, I have nowhere else to go, the only place I had.. has been taken away from me," he shook his head.
"Calm down, we can always take it back, we just need the right time and right plan with which to strike."
"I know, I just feel so devasted and helpless, why is this happening to me?"
He patted his shoulder, "Fate usually goes hard on us, but if we can endure it all, there is usually a big reward coming up, so do not be sad."
He sighed, "I can not sit here all day, the rogues might come for me."
"You could come with us,"he said softly.
"With you?"
"Yes, we have to be together in trying times right?"
He nodded, *I agree with you."
"So, you have to come with us," he shrugged.
"Hm, I wish.. I could find another place, you guys, go ahead."
"We are not leaving you behind, come with us," he insisted.
"No,I will be fine, I am an Alpha, I have been taught on how to survive, I am pretty sure I will be fine on my own."
He shook his head,"You do not have to be so stubborn now, if we work together, you can get your pack back!"
Oberon looked at him, "How come you do not have a pack of your own? You are a Lycan."
"I do not want one, ruling over werewolves can be so tiring, I prefer to be wild and free."
"Hmm, okay."
"Let us go."
"What is your name?"
He squinted his eyes, "That is not necessary, you can just call me No one."
"Why would I call you that?"
"That should be because, I asked you to."
"I do not feel comfortable calling you that name, you are somebody."
"I guess," he looked away and muttered, "Why are you asking me questions all of a sudden?"
"I was curious."
"Fine, let us go away from here," he tried to persuade him.
"Okay, if you insist," Oberon exhaled and got up.
"At least, give me a name I should call you, even if you do not want me to know what your real name is."
He rolled his eyes, "you are quite a pester," he groaned, "fine, just call me Neriah."
"Now, that is better," he grinned.
"Whatever," he muttered.
They began their journey, "you might actually like staying with Dora though."
"Huh? Why would I like that?"
"Why would you not? Do you have something against her?"
He shook his head, "It is not like that.. it is just that.. she is.. somehow.. rude."
Neriah laughed, "Ah! Is that the reason? She is actually very fun to be with. Just stay a day with her and you will love it."
"Do you stay with her?"
"Oh no, but I think I would visit her regularly, I just can’t resist her."
Oberon smirked, "Someone is falling in love," he dragged the ’love’.
He scoffed, "of course not," he quickly looked away but his cheeks turned bright red.
"Hm, it is obvious already, you must like her."
Neriah rubbed his neck, smiling nervously, "Okay, okay, fine. I think I like her a little."
"You think?"
"Ugh! I like her. Satisfied?"
"Yes, surprisingly," he grinned.
"Whatever," he rolled his eyes again.
They continued to talk on the way, sometimes laughing out loud momentarily forgetting their sorrows and when it flashed, they would go solemn again.
"We are almost there," Neriah announced.
"That same place?"
"Yes, where else would it be?"
"Oh, nowhere, just trying to affirm it," he scratched his head.
Soon, they got to Dora’s house and knocked on the door.
"She arrived here pretty faster than usual," Neriah said to himself.
"Was that to me?"
"No, no."
Few seconds later, Archi was at the door instead of Dora.
His eyes beamed when he saw Oberon with Neriah.
"You finally came!" He jumped on him.
He chuckled and ruffled his hair, "I did, I really did."
Dora came out to check who it was, "oh," she stopped in her tracks when she noticed Oberon there.
"You.. why.. are you here?"
"I asked him to come with me, I couldn’t leave him alone, pining opposite his palace."
She raised a brow, "Is that so?"
"Of course, do not give me that look."
Archi led the both of them inside.
"Have your seats," he offered them.
Oberon was touched by his manners, "Nyx must have taught you well," he nodded in approval.
He bent his head, feeling a little shy.
Dora offered them something to drink, "lucky us, we already have somewhere to lay out heads."
"Very lucky," Neriah agreed and took a gulp.
Oberon sighed and couldn’t take his drink, "I just wish I could snatch it from them right now... Unfortunately, I can’t."
"You will get it back real soon, as I said, we just need the right time and right plan. We shall surely get your pack back for you."
He palmed his face, "If, I had Nyx by my side all these years, I would not have to face this," he muttered sadly but the others heard him.
Archi went sad as soon as he heard Nyx’s name, he pouted and went to Oberon to hug him.
"Everything will be fine," he patted his father’s back.
He felt relieved,"thank you son," he ruffled his hair again and hugged him.
"How did you know Aegis? It seems you have been enemies for a long time now, he really hates you," Neriah frowned.
Oberon smiled, a painful smile that didn’t reach his eyes, "it is a very long story."

Alcide had been sauntering around the garden for a while, admiring the flowers, the trees, the butterflies, and enjoyed the peace that came with it.
"Father! Father!" Oberon came running into the garden.
Alcide turned to him and smiled, "what is the matter son?" He bent down to his height and spread his arms.
He ran into his father’s arms, "I have been looking everywhere for you," he said breathlessly.
"Oh, my boy," he ruffled his hair, "I was just enjoying the peace of the garden, beautiful is it not?"
Oberon rolled his eyes, "No," he groaned.
"Why do you say so?"
"Mother.. she requests to see you,"he sighed.
Alcide straightened himself up, "oh, I shall be there."
He held his hand and they both went into the Palace.
"She seems to be in a lot of pain," he pouted.
"Pain? What is wrong with her?"
"I do not know, she only said I should call for you," he shrugged.
Alcide was beginning to get worried, "we need to hurry up then," he increased his pace.
They arrived at her chambers, Elena was behind herself with groans and cries.
"What is the matter?"
"Alcide!" She stretched out her hand, her eyes tired.
He quickly rushed to her side, "what is the matter? What is wrong?"
"I think the pup is coming out!"
"Now?"
She nodded, "yes," her voice went back to a whisper.
He panicked, "oh goodness! We need to call for the midwife!"
He faced Oberon, "Son, go get a messenger, tell any of them to hurry up and get the midwife! Be quick!"
Oberon who was still confused, ran out as fast as he could, hoping to see any messenger on the way.
Alcide held her hand, "you will be fine, calm down Elena, I am here with you," he assured her.
She groaned, "Ahh!"
"Take it easy, take it easy, the midwife will soon be here."
"Alcide, it is already in its way out," she moaned.
"What? Can you not hold it back till the midwife comes?"
She shook her head, "No! It is already on its way, get hot water!"
Alcide was confused, "I am not a midwife," he tried to tell her but she dug her claws in his skin, "get hot water!" She yelled.
He flinched and rushed to the kitchen, to find hot water.
The maids saw the king in panick and wondered what was happening.
"Your majesty?"
"Hot water, hot water!" was all he could say.
"Hot water?"
"My wife is already in labour, get hot water, she requests for it!"
The maid were set to work, trying as much as they could to speed the heating of the water as fast as they could.
Elena’s cries were becoming louder by the minute and it was ear rending.
"She is in a labour!" A maid shouted.
Some of the maids rushed to her room to aid her in her hard time.
Alcide was panicking and could not think of anything as at that moment.
The maid came rushing into her room with a bowl of hot water. All Alcide could do was follow them behind.
"The pup is already coming out," one of the maids gasped.
The most experienced of the maids went to her side.
"My lady, I know you are going through a lot of pain right now, but I need you to calm down, breathe in and out."
Elena inhaled sharply and exhaled deeply.
"Now, you have to push."
She clutched the bedsheets, "Ahhh!"
"Push!"
She groaned, already sweating. Alcide’s heart went to her, he felt the pain she was going through at that moment.
"Come on, push my lady, it almost out, you can do this!"
"I can see the head already, its almost out."
"Oh goodness," she gasped, she was losing breath and strength too.
"You can do this, push my lady, keep pushing!"
Elena cried and groaned, "ahh!"
The maids kept it going for an hour before the midwife arrived.
She immediately set to work. She placed her birthing stool in front of her and brought out her tools.
She brought out a forcep to guide the baby’s head during the delivery.
Alcide and the rest of the maids except the one who had helped Elena during the first hour of her labour were sent out.
She had instructed the maid to massage Elena’s legs to ease the pain.
They continued that way, the midwife sometimes having to mix herbal medicines for relief or she had to examine her vagina.
They continued like that for five hours.
____
"It is a she werewolf!"
"Huh?"
"My lady, you have a she werewolf."
Elena was too weak to say anything, she immediately blacked out as soon as the child had been born.
"Go alert the king, his pup is here," she chuckled.
The maid rushed out of the room to spread the good news.
"Your majesty, it is a she werewolf!"
Alcide’s eyes brightened and he rushed into the room to see her.
Elena was unconscious, but the pup was still in the midwife’s arms, crying.
His eyes filled up with tears and he gently carried the pup from the midwife.
"My daughter," he said softly.
"We have to clean her up," the midwife chipped in.
"Okay," he gave the pup back to the midwife and a bath was prepared for the child.
Alcide had immediately thrown a huge banquet to celebrate his daughter.
"Father, who is this?"
"That is your sister, you now have a younger sibling," Alcide told him.
Oberon pouted, "does that mean you will not love me anymore?"
"I will continue to love you, you are my heir," he ruffled his hair, "but for now, we need to give the pup attention."
Oberon reluctantly agreed, "if you say so," he sighed.
***
"You mean you were jealous of your sister?" Dora giggled.
He rolled his eyes, "maybe just a little bit," he sighed.
"Why?"
"I thought he would love her more than he loved me, of course I was bound to be jealous."
"He still loved you both right?" Archi asked.
"Yes, yes he did," Oberon ruffled his hair, "just like the way I love you."
Archi laughed and palmed his face.
Neriah was impatient, "come on now, go on with the story."
"Oh yeah, as I was saying, my father had thrown a huge banquet, little did we know, disaster was about to strike."
