The Alpha's Blind Fate
Chapter 99: His Return

Chapter 99: His Return

DAEMON

Daemon didn’t have to do anything. Not when he had eagerly promised Yaren that he could have Eldric’s head to pay for all of their humiliation. He knew that Yaren had many debts to collect, and he also knew that he had denied his brother of collecting such debts time and time again.

Whether it be the life of Zina WolfKnight who spoke such a horrible prophecy, or the life of their brother who instigated the events that led to everything... Daemon had truly denied his brother enough.

But no more. For that was why he sent Yaren ahead to gather the Houses that served as their spy in the Arctic North.

It was finally time for promises to be fulfilled and debts to be paid. It was finally time to go back home.

The two House Z’s sent back their response. They were more than prepared to unleash the plan that they had been stewing on for almost a decade.

Eldric fu**ing NorthSteed thought he was invisible. The man had virtually cooked some stupid plan to disappear and launch an attack on Daemon instead. Only if he knew that of the twenty elite in his Special Werewolf Army, Daemon had the loyalty of five.

Eldric’s every move, from the men he slept with, and the women he killed, from the people he met with, and the dirty things he hid in the dead of the night... not one thing had ever escaped Daemon.

There was a special box reporting on his brother for years. And that box was filled with secret letters, documents reporting Eldric’s outrageous tax imposition on the people, and more documents on the underhanded alliances he had forged.

Eldric’s reign was a failing Wolf Chess game. Just one move from Daemon and every of his pieces would be rendered useless. His kingdom was no different from a faulty stack of cards. Just the wrong blow of the Northern wind and the entire thing would collapse.

Yaren had left earlier with Red Hand Fionna much to his brother’s disgruntlement to be in the company of such a woman, but Daemon had made it clear that the situation was necessary.

The Red Hand was important to Daemon if he intended to solely acquire the Red Sisters of the East. He just didn’t see himself satisfied with the Night Mages alone.

So the same day that Daemon had become the Alpha of the DireWolf Pack and he had also acquired the terrifying Supreme DireWolf of his mother’s ancestors, Daemon had laid his uncle to rest.

The one man that had thought Daemon rare words with profound meaning; family before anything.

It was a lesson that Daemon had always been shrewdly grateful for, for his uncle made him understand that family wasn’t just who you tied yourself to by blood, no, they were instead people who you choose to be your family.

People who actually deserved the title.

Daemon wouldn’t go as far as to call himself a good person, but growing up, due to his own lack of familial love, he had never been hesitant to take his younger brothers under his wing.

He was the smart brother, the shrewd one, and the bookworm. He was the big brother that scared the other big bad Wolf, and he never discriminated. Whether it be Yaren, Eldric, or Falcon, Daemon always truly loved his brothers.

But love wasn’t meant to be given to just about anybody, and Eldric had more than proved that. For that reason, Daemon would not show hesitance to serve the man the same bitter pill he forced Daemon to swallow.

Except Daemon didn’t believe in fairness. When he serves Eldric the same bitter pill his brother gave him, there would be nothing equal about the pain they both suffered... no matter whether they shared the same blood or not.

In the true tradition of the Desert South, his uncle’s body was wrapped in strips of white cloth and placed in a specially engraved tomb with the head of a crafted DireWolf as its handle. And just like that, Daemon’s uncle was laid to rest beside his ancestors.

Daemon was sad in fact. The man had after all been the only elder who actually acted as his family

Right after the ceremony, Daemon entrusted the DireWolf Pack into Marcus who already had instructions from him on what to do. Travelling from the South to North was no small journey, but Daemon was not a Lycan Shifter anymore.

He had now achieved the Supreme Shifter Wolf and he was a hell lot faster than any werewolf. Shifting into his terrifying DireWolf form, he sped through the terrains like the wind. The wolf was unnatural to him, and he never thought he would get used to having two wolves inside of him.

Many people hyped being a supreme shifter like it was the beginning and the end of the world. In fact, there was a list dedicated to keeping notes of the most unusual shifters and said list was updated every year.

To Daemon, this was just another achievement in his quest of achieving more power. He worked so hard for this, to reach where he was, and to become the Werewolf he now is.

Daemon, to achieve power, one needs more power. There is no other way to it. Sharpen your mind and broaden your strength. Thrive in every area and that way, you become invisible.

As his DireWolf touched snowy glaciers, his uncle’s words to his younger self rang in his head. Words that had out inside Daemon the relentless need to become the best in everything while acting like he was just an average werewolf on any hood day.

Without missing a breath, Daemon easily took down ten of the werewolves guarding the Border of Glaciers. The remaining twelve cowered before him, unwilling to fight him anymore.

When the head is weak, the tail becomes pathetic.

Daemon would never become a weak Alpha or a pathetic one for the matter. He would never be that Alpha who his warriors would not find the strength to serve until their very last.

No, he would not be the kind of Alpha where the pack finds the need to die in order to serve him. Watching Eldric’s foolishness as he fought the war against the Arising Rogues was traumatic enough.

He had no desire to repeat such again.

Daemon reached the Arctic Castle to find it doused in blood. Red Hand Fionna was admiring her artificial claws painted red as she stared at Daemon through hooded eyes.

"You arrived late to the party." The woman cooed

Daemon ignored her, turning to his brother. "Yaren, don’t tell me you killed all the fucking pack members. Where is everyone?"

"They are gathered at the Capital Square." Yaren answered grimly, sweat dripping off his face and running down his bare bloodied torso.

"And who has gathered them there?" Daemon asked.

"It is the Theta." Yaren gritted out, and even without specifying which Theta he meant, Daemon already knew.

Daemon turned and stalked away, arriving at the Capital Square just in time to hear Zina WolfKnight being in her true deceitful element.

"I tell you now, all of Vraga." Her voice, which Daemon didn’t want to admit was as charismatic as it was soft and sensual, carried on to him. "I, the moon goddess, will send you the moon instead when the sun hangs in the sky to pave the way for my servant. And when you see that sign, the man that will stand before you shall be Greatness himself, and his wolf will rescue you when the time of carnage runs through your world painting it red."

Daemon growled, finding the woman maddening. Was this her plan to do her own part? By spewing more and more lies?

He stalked for the pavilions and the crowd naturally patted for him, each aware of the Wolf he now bore. He climbed the honestly unnecessarily long and high pavilion, coming to stand before the woman who was dressed in a green gown that hugged her curves in a way Daemon didn’t dare his eyes to wander further.

The dress wasn’t even obscene, and yet, he was talking about her curves.

Focusing, he observed the way she gripped the staff in her fingers, pointing it at the crowd the same way she had pointed it at him six years ago. Her eyes were covered which was strange. Did the woman not enjoy her restored sight? Or did she just like a good show?

Her body turned stiff as she noticed his proximity with her, and yet, those blind eyes didn’t face him squarely.

Unable to bear the fact that the crowd was still enraptured by her lying tongue, Daemon drawled. "Telling a false vision once again, are we?"
